Don't think that your own impressive posing abilities have escaped my notice! It's nice to see that other collectors get it; these figs give us an opportunity to create art. They aren't just baubles to collect and horde. They aren't things to boast to other people about having in some vain attempt to create envy...I see them as gateways that allow us to participate in a medium that we love. We get the chance to create unique takes on heroes from our childhood. Many of us, have been posing figs since we were children...and it often shows! As adults, when time permits, we have the ability to create images that appear as though they were ripped right from the pages of our favorite books! With an active imagination, some time, and a half-way decent camera (I'm with you in the crappy camera boat - 10 yr old digital jammy -every time I think to buy a new one, more figs show up ) we can create some very cool pop-art... So that SDCC Ant Man mini figure, is it the same one from the recent Legends fig (with the ant) painted slightly differently?

They are in fact purple flames, purchased months ago with Dormammu in mind. If you want to call them "3rd party" you can, my term for them is 'bootleg'...they just so happened to match the skulls perfectly (I thought they might, but it was nice to have my suspicions confirmed). I have 2 sets for each color of flames: blue, red, yellow, black, and purple. There's a green set scheduled for the future (I believe), but I'm on the fence with that one... Thanks for noticing the MOTUC stuff in there, they work great! I've ordered a couple of other things that I'll be adding as accents in future pics... A green set would be fantastic. They would be great for characters that steel/use souls like the new Quan Chi Mortal Kombat figure coming, or even Brother Voodoo, since his staff has souls coming out of it. Green Flames would also be great for Fire from the DC Classics. |

@Phantomcrow
Sorry about taking your idea ...my latent mutant abilities must be finally kicking in...however, given that puberty ended for me a long, long time ago...I must be a metahuman a la DC and not one of Marvel's genefreaks...or maybe I'm an Eternal, who has merely forgotten his long past here on Earth (think I'd prefer that really)...all right, this is getting a bit stupid. Good idea about Voodoo. I was thinking it made no sense to get the green flames just for DCUC's Fire. Now that there are two characters that could potentially use it, just maybe...I had other ideas for Voodoo that require me picking up some non-Legends/DCUC figs... If I see another set of yellow flames in my searches...I'll shoot you a PM. |

BTW, I keep meaning to ask this, but how is Hawkeye's bow supposed to be placed in his hand (the one with the robotic arm)? I keep trying different ways and I'm lucky if the thing stays in his hand for more than a day, sometimes even 5 minutes.

I did an arm swap on my Hawkeye so he'd have bare arms, but still had to deal with the bow not staying put (I stuck with the old Toy Biz Hawkeye bow though). I just glued it onto his hand with a tiny dab of super glue since I knew I wouldn't be interested in posing him not holding the bow. At the same time, it's not permanent; easily removable without damaging him by just soaking the hand and bow in a bath of Goo Gone for a few minutes.

Thank you so much, man! I'm not sure I deserve such effusive praise, but knowing other people dig the photos I take feels pretty damn good! lol

I never got a chance to thank you for the head's up on the bootleg purple/black Tamashii flames. I now have three purple ones, so thanks for that mate. I'll let you know when my enormous Avengers vs X-Men diorama is finally completed. You can expect a message in 3-4 years! Quote:

ANGELA WON!!!
Angela Wins the Hasbro Marvel Legends Poll | News | Marvel.com "The votes are in and the fans have spoken! After a close poll, one hero stands above the rest as the new Hasbro Marvel Legends figure. That hero is Angela, the awesome Asgardian warrior! Angela took home 28% of the votes, just edging out Darkhawk, who walked away with 26%. Mysterio and Symbiote Spider-Man followed closely behind with 24% and 20% respectively. Thanks to all the fans for voting and be sure to look out for the new Angela Marvel Legends figure from Hasbro!" |

I have been mostly a Marvel Select guy. There more like statues to me. But I have been picking up a ML here and there and they are awesome plane making some scenes,.couldn't resist a Spidy figure eating a NY slice of pizza.But anyways should I even bother hunting down some of the older toybiz ML. Sculpting has changed so much and the Hasbro mls don't seem to have overly long arms like many of the toybiz ones just want to see what people think

As to your question, hasbro is remaking quite a few of toybiz versions. I would hold out for a newer one. |

So glad that Angela won the poll. Really as long as Symbiote Spiderman didn't win I would not consider it a wasted poll. I have a feeling that even though he scored lowest they'll end up making him at some point anyways. I just feel like if he had won it would send the message that the fans DO want re-costumes of the staple characters more than brand new characters and that would, to me, be a bad thing.

However, I don't know why Hasbro put a Spawn character in there. Yes, I know she is now a Marvel character, but it doesn't make her one to me. It is just like how the name Captain Marvel will ALWAYS belong to the DC character and not that lame as Shazam name. Miss Marvel will be nothing more than Miss Marvel to me. BTW, a few people are reporting that they are finding the Hulk Buster wave at Walgreens.

Once Wendell was off the board, I was pulling for Angela as the second heaviest hitter of the lot. We need more powerhouses. Too many street people...
As far as the gripes I've read on many toysites about her not being a 'true' Marvel hero...meh, Marvel initially started out as a conglomerate of magazines and characters under a larger umbrella known as Timely Publications (later Atlas Comics? or something...it's pretty messy). Eventually, original properties (Submariner, Human Torch, Cap, Whizzer, etc) got rolled up into what we now understand as Marvel 'proper'. D.C.'s origins weren't much different absorbing properties like Captain Marvel (Shazam) into their own pantheon eventually creating a larger universe. (edit: I should be more clear here, D.C. didn't acquire Captain Marvel until very late in the game...the 70's) If fans don't like Angela as a character, then so be it. It's your prerogative to like whomever you like...But, if fans don't like Angela based on some purist stance that she violates guiding principles dictating that heroes don't cross company lines...well, I'd say pump the brakes and review the history. This stuff happened often "back in the day"...this is not a dig, nor am I trying to start an argument. I just find some of the Angela hate, or more appropriately, the reasoning behind it, somewhat perplexing. Go Angela!...although, Hasbro better make a new sculpt for her! No retool/reuse bullshit. Speaking o' Marvel and D.C. ...for shits and giggles...lol Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 08-01-2015 at 10:40 AM.. |

Seriously though, as a name itself "Captain Marvel" makes more sense belonging to Marvel. I would be confused if Marvel made a character called Mister DC. To me Angela is a Spawn character and I'm not sure why Marvel bothered saying "hey look it's Angela, y'know from Spawn" if they were then going to make it a completely new character anyway who just looks like the Spawn character. I was okay with her being brought over at first but the moment they said she's actually Thor's long lost sister I was completely pulled out.
