Thanks, Von! Without your suggestions, I wouldn't have been able to do the 'extra' things to make this set-up pop. Your shared lighting/smoke (I still need to get better) techniques and thoughtful comments (and those of a few others) have helped me to improve. You alluded to it with Instagram, but the fact that we all can positively influence one aother is true anywhere.
Edit: Yeah, my fist astral projection Strange had a slight crack in the hip joint. There was a point when astral Strange dipped below $20 on eBay and I grabbed a second. As for Astral Strange, I'm thinking of some great set-ups using them as conjured doubles for the Sorcerer Supreme.. Quote:
Oh right, my own list!
I'm always hoping for the New Mutants, and with all of the new bodies released I'm comfortable expressing it because there is no reason to mess it up for Hasbro! Redoes: Hercules, She-Hulk, Tigra and Black Knight. Modern: America Chavez, Blue Marvel, Spectrum, Songbird and Stature. Classic: Sersi, Starfox, Jocasta, Quasar, Mantis, Nebula and Nighthawk. Spidey: Cloak & Dagger, Firestar and Tombstone. X: Dazzler & Rogue in many more costumes!, Monet, Frenzy, Sage, Madrox and Nimrod. On a side note, if we've learned anything from the double whammey of Civil War this year, it's this: |

They could just do a Warpath in the next wave that includes an alternate Thunderbird head.
I want a good Magneto and Apocaylpse before they do Belasco and S'ym. I wouldn't mind a Goblin Queen Madelynn though. There are a ton of mutants I want at this point, but if I had to drop my list down to a top 10, it would be: GS Storm GS Nightcrawler GS Cyclops GS Colossus GS Banshee Classic Magneto Fall of the Mutants Apocalypse Classic Mystique Inferno Mr Sinister Fall of the Mutants Sabertooth |

I want them to make Apocalypse but not as a BAF. They made AoU Hulk an individual figure so it's not impossible for them to just do the same for Apocalypse. Of course knowing Hasbro if they ever do make Apocalypse it'll be as a BAF in a wave that I would only want one or two of the figures. Maybe Diamond Select will get around to Apocalypse one day.

Nimrod would be great, I really enjoyed the Hellfire Club/X-Men fight with Nimrod. Those were great days to be a comic book reader and I would love to see action figures for them. |

I just read the Claremont stuff for the first time over the last few months and have loved it. Best X-Men comics I have ever read. A shame I have run out of material.

I could see some parts on the upcoming Colossus figure being reused for a new Apocalypse. If Colossus is a little bigger than the average figure, it could work for Apocalypse too.

Looking at it I could see them using a lot of that Colossus to make a classic Apocalypse. From what we saw at SDCC Colossus was a head taller than the other figures in his wave. They could reuse like all of the arms and even the gauntlet/bracers could be retooled a little and then they could reuse the legs entirely since the boots are kinda like Apoc's. Just give him some shoulder armor (with the neck brace thing) and a belt with the big A and accommodations for his tubes. Do it Hasbro, make it happen.

Ran into a complete case of The Dr. Strange wave at my local Wal-Mart tonight. Grabbed Iron Fist and Enchantress, and stashed Nico away for future purchasing.

So I started reading the Claremonet/Lee Volume 2 Omnibus and all I can say is that the comics feel weird to me now. I mean, I grew up with them being done like this, but after spending the last few months reading the earlier Claremont stuff, the artwork just feels out of place in the way the panels are done. Hell, half of the time they don't even feel like there are any panels, just large images that have dialog placed in an order that wants you to guess what order to read the bubbles in. Not only that, but it seems like every third page has some female character in some strange pose that shows off her assets in one way or another. Also, I just noticed something, Psylocke is now Asian. Or rather, I never knew she was British before now, and in the Fall of the Mutants and Inferno she didn't look very Asian. Now she is suddenly full blown Asian. WHAT?! How is that even possible? Did someone travel back in time and change the race of her parents?
Okay, issues wise, so far they have been pretty good. The stuff with Iceman and his girlfriend in Japan was all right. The Savange Land adventures of Magneto and Rogue was awkward because one minute Rogue's powers worked, then they didn't the next, and then they started working again when it was convenient to the plot. And of course we have Magneto who seems to have some sort of love relationship with her and just out right kills again. Something just seemed off about the way this entire scene was executed. Now the Skrull Shi'ar ordeal was interesting to read, but I'm surprised it took Claremont like 8 years to conclude that. Deathbird took over the empire in the third Omnibus, which covered the stories from 82 and 83, so I expected that plotline to have been concluded well beforehand. I guess it was nice that it hadn't though, since I got to read about the end of it. It was interesting, but those generic yellow and blue costumes need to go. What were they thinking? I forgot about those ugly things. I remember getting a Wolverine toy as a kid in that costume and I hated it even then. Anyway, Jubilee is even more despicable in the comics than she was in the cartoon. In fact, now thinking about it, the cartoon gave Jubilee Kitty's personality and I can see why given how much of a little shit she is here. She feels like the precursor to the comments section on Youtube. Currently, I'm reading the X-Factor issues that deal with Apocalypse stealing Nathan away. That baby can never catch a break. It's been enjoyable so far but I do not know any of those mutants working for Apocalypse outside of Tusk, at least as far as I can remember. Not a fan of Jean being stripped down of her powers just like Rogue has. Did something happen between these issues and Inferno that I don't know about with them losing their powers? |

The Psylocke being British and Asian is complicated. She was British-born and yes, full blown Caucasian, up through going through half a year or so after Inferno. After that, the way the initial story reads, Spiral's Body Shoppe transformed her into the iconic Asian Psylocke (but with British mind) we know today. That was the initial story and likely initial intent. However, about 2-3 years into X-Men v. 2 there was a much more (needless) convoluted story that retconned what actually happened, into more of a body switch with a woman who was Asian. It gave us Revanche (the original Asian woman whose mind was now in Psylocke's British body). There's a good bit more but that's the majority of it. Like I said, pretty needless, I think the original story worked well and while I loved much of the early years of X-Men v2 that was one storyline that, while interesting the first time around, was just unnecessarily confusing. For further reading I would suggest either Marvel's own wiki or wiki in general. It's really too much to type out the whole story.

Perhaps. Either way I want both a Lady Mandarin Psylocke and an British Armor Pyslocke in Legends form. Pass on a poofy pink/purple frilly dress Psylocke though.

There was a mention a few days ago/pages back about NYCC and what we will see. I think we won't see that much new. Filling out the rest of the Warlock wave, and the rest of the Spider-Man wave along with BAF reveal. Maybe some of the rest of the GOTG wave but I think they were holding off because of spoilers? Doesn't make much sense to reveal those spoilers two months later, when the movie is still so far away.
Possible one figure reveal for both the MCU Spider-Man wave (assuming there is one) and Wolverine wave (if that rumor is true) and if no Wolverine wave maybe a one figure reveal for the Thor wave (assuming again there is one). Maybe something more concrete on the Spectrum, Dark Phoenix (if our scale), Invisible Woman and Mary Jane figures (actually assuming all of these are our scale, I am pretty sure INvisible Woman is but who knows for sure on the rest). That is pretty much it though. NYCC doesn't reveal a ton typically. |

it's funny, because the first time i read it, I found the whole storyline pretty "neat" and interesting, mysterious, but on later readings and past thinking I just realized it only added layers of confusion where they did not need to be.

My Wal-Mart got in 1 case of the Doctor Strange Legends a couple days ago. I put most of the case on Layaway. I already picked up a couple of them a week ago at TRU. I think stores might be a little hesitant to stock a lot after all the Ant Man figures that had to be marked down from last year. BUT this line has a much better character selection.

Everyone seems to love those bootlegs, am I the only one that doesn't? It's a good likeness for Jeremy Renner and they deserve some credit for giving Black Widow double elbows but Hulk looks like a washed up ex-Hulk starting to go to seed, Vision looks like a cosplay by a middle aged banker and something just seems off about Iron Man and War Machine. Something in the proportions.
DP is the only one I haven't seen out of the entire X-Men wave. |

Not a fan of Jean being stripped down of her powers just like Rogue has. Did something happen between these issues and Inferno that I don't know about with them losing their powers? I reread Claremont's run a couple of years ago, and for me X-Men started to go downhill after Fall of The Mutants. I know the Outback "era" is hugely popular, but the stories majorly flopped after that. Nothing happened story-wise, with most characters appearing in and out of issues with nothing to do. Madelyne went from a fascinating character to a psychotic ex-wife in the space of about six issues, Polaris was character assassinated repeatedly, the Brood returned with no consequence, and Marc Silvestri's art deteriorated very quickly. It does become apparent that Claremont was slowly running out of ideas, or at least less well-written ones, and after Bob Harras replaced Ann Nocenti as the editor, everything was thrown out of the window in favour of pleasing the artist over the writer. By the time Jim Lee came along, Claremont was a dead man walking. I wouldn't say no to some Outback-based figures, mind you, but speaking from a comic point of view, it's not the best period. Well, I guess since everyone is talking about their ML wants, I'll list some of my most wanted:
- JL/GS Storm (would greatly prefer Jim Lee but I'm fine with either one, I just need a Storm in my collection and I'm not paying twice the price of a full wave for the TRU one. I prefer the classic looks of most characters anyway) - 90s Jubilee - Classic Iron-Man (preferably on the Grim Reaper body, although Bucky Cap wouldn't be horrible.) - Classic Thor (It's absolutely criminal that both options for Thor's classic look simply aren't up to par. As much as the shelfchest on Hyperion annoys me, I can look past it if they made Thor on that body. Really though, Thor doesn't have any particularly great figures in general). - Kingpin - Luke Cage (don't really care what look. Even Netflix would be fine since he more or less looks like how he would in the comics anyway, though I'd prefer a yellow shirt) - Colleen Wing - Classic Black Widow (an omission so baffling that I'm surprised it hasn't been done already. Paint the Moonstone body black, put on like 4 extra pieces, give her a new head, and now you have Natasha. Is that so hard?) - 90s Gambit (the TB Gambit is still a good figure, I believe it was my first TB ML figure actually. Next to the rest of my collection, however, he's showing his age.) - Moon Knight (classic look, all white) - Quicksilver (that old one was just average even when it came out and now that we've been getting better figures, it looks even worse) - MCU Vision (MCU figures aren't normally that exciting, but we're so close to having a full lineup of MCU heroes that they might as well. I can live without getting movie QS, but Vision is a must and I'd say he's inevitable at this point) - Dr. Doom (He's one of the biggest villains not only in Marvel history, but comic book history in general and both of his Legends figures suck. What the hell?) - Magneto (Same as Doom) - The rest of the F4 (probably more a case of 'when' than 'if' at this point, and I'm willing to bet they'll be unveiled at NYCC) - Any of Spider-Man's rogues. Seriously, you could throw all the C-listers, D-listers and F-listers you want out there, and I'll still be on board. Priority must go towards Sinister Six members though. - More MCU villains in general. I have a bunch of MCU heroes but nobody for them to actually fight besides Ultron and themselves.
