Though I do agree the new Torch figure is not exactly spectacular. Kind of sucks that my favorite member got the worst figure.

I've been going through the pictures of the Captain Marvel wave and man, how I wish that bomber jacket Carol was MCU Korath the Pursuer instead. I also wish that we had gotten a Nova Corps Trooper in one of the GOTG waves.

They should do interchangeable parts to make a Johnny/ bag head spidey Walgreens exclusive. I feel like new sue is smirking at her desturbingly malformed progeria riddled counterpart. Seriously those old ones look like Chinese knockoffs compared to what they’re putting out now. I feel sorry for people that invested heavily in the old toybiz stuff. Every time a character comes up for a re do the toybiz version tanks in price. The last one I noticed was task master. I remember the toybiz one going for close to a hundred bucks, then the udon TM dropped it down to the 40 range, then the last one ranked it, my LCS has it for 8, and it’s been there a minute.

BP got a second wave CM probably will to, or at least a couple exclusive two packs. I wish they would do an IW Bruce in busted up hulk buster BAF.

Here are a couple upgraded figs:
First is Black Knight. Gave him an unmasked head and some armor. Second is my rendition of Satana in Battle Armor.

There are people out there who still feel Toybiz legends are superior to what we're getting today. I don't agree with it but there are a few Toybiz figures in my collection that I think are amazing. My Mecha Hulk figure for instance is a thing of beauty. He's massive, highly detailed, suprisingly well articulated, and the paint apps are so good that I thought the thing was actually dirty when I first got it. Dragon Man is another Toybiz figure that really impresses me. I don't have him but I'd pay over a $100 for him in good condition. I think Toybiz mainly had a problem with their human figures.

Like we had someone a few years ago that said that the Toybiz versions didn't count? I disagree - what's that even mean, that they weren't made - that the fact that I have some of those Toybiz versions was null and void because they weren't Hasbro? Not to me. And for a long time i did prioritize getting never done before characters over remakes, for the most part. Of course that all changed once we got Polaris and Enchantress. I kid, somewhat. Okay, I'm not kidding. I'm all up for redos once we got those out of the way. But, when I do my wishlist I tend to stick to never done before characters, because I DO feel that having Toybiz version is better than nothing. I'll gladly stick with my Toybiz Nightcrawler if it meant getting a Firestar figure. |

The shoulder guards were from malekith and the chest was from an old figure from some comic back in early 2000’s when every indie comic had a line of figures. I broke him apart and dremeled the ever-lovin’ crap out the torso front to get it to fit using black wire ties, which is how i got Satanas scabbard to stay on her belt.

I've been collecting since the Toy Biz era. Some have held up, but not all. Mecha Hulk is still great. I love my Dragon Man too. That thing's a beast. I heard he sells for over $300 these days. I have an original Spider Hulk too. He's pretty sweet. The old Toy Biz BAFs were pretty good too, namely the Sentinel and Giant Man. These days, however, I find myself selling the Toy Biz figures once Hasbro announces a new one. Like in the latest classics wave, I was able to replace my old Toy Biz Ant-Man for the new one. There are times I wish I knew what would come and held off, but it has been fun watching a collection evolve and change over time.

I'm in that boat of 'a couple TB ones are nice enough and not likely to get redone soon by Hasbro.' It's why I went out of my way to get Blackheart, and until Hasbro does a remake, I'm not getting rid of my Nightcrawler (though, really, I'm not getting rid of any of my Nightcrawlers )

I have a single ToyBiz Legend, Professor X. I am not a fan of the Coulson body the new one seems to be on, and I prefer the normal wheelchair to the hover-chair.
And to top it off, all it cost me was a Suicide Squad Joker I didn't want anyway. |

I think blob was hasbro. But I could be wrong. Early hasbro were some of the worst legends ever, see ultimate wolverine. I think the new stuff is for the most part consistently the best figures ever made. That said some of the Toybiz figures are works of art. The paint, the shading, the unique sculpts, the texture, and the detail was almost McFarlan quality, they did often sacrifice sculpt for Gymics and articulation, toybiz spidey looks like pizza spideys skeleton put on his suit. And the women looked hookers that washed up on a beach in New Jersey. See rouge...woof. The toybiz BAFs though, that’s a different story, sentinel, fin fang foom and, mojo are still my favorite bafs and giant man is amazing, but they look out of place next to the flatter paint style of the modern hasbro stuff.

^ Blob was Hasbro, one of the first waves, as was the Fin Fang Foom you mentioned.
Could someone please explain to me the love affair with TB Sentinel? I can't look at it without thinking it looks like a Sentinel a la Michael Bay's Transformers, and not at all looking like a more classic Sentinel (the mold that was used for the DOFP two-pack, for instance). And I get that the size is a factor, but that isn't enough to sell me on a figure that singularly costly.
