Well I took the initiative and renewed my Hasbro Pulse Premium membership. Any other offering short of something that included Firestar and or Justice I probably would have just chanced it. But there's no way I'm going to not add any advantages towards buying a HC set. September here I come.
Why are people upset that YouTubers get figures before the public does? They are doing a service to the company promoting them and us as fans by putting out reviews for them. It only makes sense for them to get them earlier. Some of them even buy them with money out of their own pocket from earlier releases overseas.

The website didn't mention much in the way of benefits. Is it mostly to be guaranteed preorders?

I’ve only had issues this year, with Red Hulk & with Storm. Prior to that, I have had zero problem getting my hands on stuff.

And yes, traditionally walmart has been the clusterfuck of store exclusives, but it's very possible there's going to be a lot of collectors pissed off at Target on October 4th. |

Rulk was a bit of a pain, but I eventually found him at retail. Target and Walmart are both garbage with preorders (gone in 60 seconds) but I’ve been lucky enough out here to find everything I’ve wanted in time. Hopefully the Hellfire goons will be on Pulse too, since it looks like they want to encourage army building. I can’t see how an army building figure would be exclusive, seems like bad business.

I do hope they fix the Target website issues for the Storm/Thunderbird two-pack, that thing sold out way too quickly. I'm curious to see what the Marvel reveal will be today. Judging by the Dan Yun Tweet, I'm hoping it's either the vintage Jim Lee Rogue re-release or the Pyro figure for the Rogue/Pyro two-pack.
As a P.S., my big sis surprised me this weekend by pre-ordering the retro Spider-Man wave figures for Spider-Man, Green Goblin and the Fan Channel Mysterio. My sister is awesome. |

Not to mention, you see the bidding battles when a new wave hits ebay and it gets ridiculous for single figures. That’s reviewers who will pay through the nose to get an early review out. |

Frfr the air is thick with entitlement. Be happy this stuff comes out eventually and everyone will get what they want in a pretty fair window I think. Tell anyone trying to get NECA TMNT right now how rough you got it as an ML fan that you feel left out that people are finding shit in stores EARLY even though you can still easily preoder most of it at various retailers...

In a rather unexpected move, I decided to sell much more of my collection than previously anticipated yesterday, including almost all of my Jim Lee X-Men. This led me to wonder the collecting habits of everyone else on this board. How do you collect your Legends?
I decided that moving forward I'm going to stick with 'definitive' versions of characters that I have a connection with. I am going to continue to collect every Wolverine and his accompanying cast of characters. As such, my X-Men shelf in one detolf has now been relegated to every Wolverine release thus far, Uncanny X-Force, some Deadpool/Cable, Sinister, Apocalypse, Kitty, Jubilee, Colossus and Nightcrawler with Magneto, Sabretooth, Mystique, Omega Red and Silver Samurai filling out the rest of the current ranks. I look forward to grabbing Maverick and hopefully, in due time, Cyber, a new Daken, etc. I also have an AOA shelf started, so fingers crossed we get more. As for Spidey, I used to have an extensive Spiderverse shelf that I pared down last year and then again earlier this year. Now I really feel like I'm just going to stick with the most classic versions of the Sinister Six and Spidey staples and cut it there. The new Kingpin and most of the new vintage wave will be awesome to swap out some other versions. I have an MCU shelf that encapsulates the Infinity Saga with my favorite version of almost every character. I don't imagine I'll buy much more from the MCU for a few years. Finally, I'm trying to do a bit of a foil shelf with heroes and competing villains. Right now I have 80th Cap with Baron Zemo, 80th Iron Man and Doom... but I'm also realizing we need some updates. I have no proper Comic Dr. Strange for Dormammu or an Ultron against Vision. Ultimately, there are certain new figures coming out that completely check off the 'definitive' list for me. War Machine and Moon Knight come to mind as does the new Vintage Spidey. There are characters that still need some TLC such as Daredevil (no butterfly joints yet!?) and Punisher. That's my completely unsolicited rant, but I'd love to hear some thoughts from everyone! |

Now, how do I collect Legends? all of my legends are currently in boxes and have been for years. We are working on building a a new house, that was the plan when our old house was sold in April 2017. Unfortunately many things have delayed even the start of building the new house, most recently the Covid situation will likely delay it until late 2021. Until then space is limited. All that is to say I don't have a display of any kind...but I will one day at some point!! Now once I do have room to display these, I don't know exactly how I will. I do know as far as figures go I'm getting really close to not needing too many redos of characters in certain costumes, and I'm also not for the most part not needing alternate costumes of characters we already have; though there are a few exceptions. Of course over the years I've got a lot of updated and duplicates of characters and may weed them out of the collection at some point. It's mostly new, never done before characters now for me. The majority of my wants are X-Men related, then Avengers, then Spider-Man/F4/Daredevil and finally movie characters and other assorted characters - this includes both heroes and villains. I'll likely have several displays of each "family" of characters. for X-Men ,Jim Lee era, classic Claremont (70's to mid 80's) and then probably a mix of modern-ish that won't be around a particular theme - House Of X might be mixed with All New Marvel etc. Also the Outback era X-Men if we were to get them, I think the main missing one for me there is Psylocke. Avengers I'll probably go mostly classic on. Since I'm more inclined to just have one version of each character aside from Wasp and Iron Man, that shouldn't be too difficult, though I'm not opposed to having several different displays of team lineups. Kurt Busiek's Avengers run is my favorite run, which is why I'm so keen on getting Firestar and Justice, I'd really like to complete his initial team (after the first three issues which all Avengers took part in). Also not opposed to the early 90's team with Black Knight, Sersi, Crystal, etc. Spider-Man has so many versions I don't even know how i'm going to display him. Probably at least two areas of display. General Marvel might get a couple of sections as well, one for more street level heroes and one for those whose power levels are a bit above that. Finally likely some sort of cosmic display with GOTG and possibly some sort of display of Masters of Evil or assorted X-Villains and Spider-Man villains. I honestly have enough legends to go around on that. Last edited by Captain Nash; 08-03-2020 at 07:04 AM.. |

Collecting habits will vary for each person. I used to collect Legends some years back and would buy everything I could. I realized over the past couple of years that I shouldn't be buying everything so tried to narrow my collecting focus on the way around from comics to toys. I started collecting Legends again this year with a focus on X-Men exclusively. The problem now is that I started building some teams around them that are non-Xmen so I feel at times that i'm falling back into that trap of starting to collect too many Legends. For me its tough because I do love so many Marvel characters and Hasbro is doing such a fantastic job of bringing them to life at this 1/12th scale.

Well as I learned from collecting MOTUC, GI Joe, Transformers, DCUC and Figuarts, I don't actually need to own every single figure in the line. It's a waste of money and a waste of space. Not to mention I will never be able to take pictures and have fun with every figure. As such, I'm try to cut back on only my favorite series/characters.
For X-Men, I don't care if I have multiple versions of the same X-Man, but for the most part my collection starts at Giant Sized X-Men and ends with Age of Apocalypse. Obviously, if I have to buy one to get a BAF, I will, but I've been very good about doing a ML purge a couple times a year even though I'm taking a big loss (I mean, I recently sold about 14 figures in one ebay lot for $60). For Spider-Man, for the most part I'm trying to stick with classic versions of characters, but since Spider-Man is my favorite super hero, I'm pretty much all in for anything Spider-Man related. The only Spider-Men themselves I have gotten rid of was the House of M Spidey and the one from the Raft box set. Of course, I'll be getting rid of more now that we have an entirely new body for them to rerelease everyone in, especially Ben Reily, 2099, and Black Symbiote. Though, I'm still debating if I really want the Ben Reillys anymore since the Clone Saga was atrocious when I read it last year. Granted, I still have the Ben Reily run to read, but I'm not sure I care enough about the character to... well... care. Now for the rest of the Marvel universe, I'm collecting stuff related to Captain America, Doctor Strange, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Black Widow, and DareDevil. Anyone else really depends on how much I like the characters such ase the Guardians of the Galaxy. I have the 5 pack because I love the characters enough in the movies. Thanos is my favorite Marvel villain, so of course I've got him. Plus, he's fought Silver Surfer. I do have Dark Hawk, Night Thrasher, and Death's Head II because I grew up with those characters, so they're kind of nostalgia induced. Granted, I do always wonder if I truly care about them in my collection, which is why Night Thrasher is currently sitting in my bin since I don't have room for him on the shelf.
