This is slightly off topic but in regards to Hasbro's plans with Fortnite. Jay C reached out to Hasbro and was told that

the new agreement does NOT limit them
to just Hasbro properties appearing in the game. They went on to tell me the license is specific to 6-inch and above scale in action figures and vehicles |

As for the Monday reveal, I vaguely remember a Black Widow 2-pack teased with Maestro and a few other Legends awhile back. Haven't heard much about it sense that initial leak. If so, I'm gonna assume it's MCU related, but I'd be happily wrong if we got some more Comic Widow merch.
But I wouldn't expect to see the 2 pack until we're closer to summer. That way they're not promoting a movie that doesn't come out for several months. Again. |

After the Fortnite Snake-Eyes figure release, I have no doubt that we'll see some kind of similar release for Marvel. Luckily some of the designs match-up pretty close to comic accurate, while others just look like they'd make fun figures.

It's a new Black Widow movie 2-pack featuring figures of Red Guardian and Melina Vostkoff from Hasbro." |

Expected, IMO. Totally passable for me, but expected. But then again the only MCU figure I can see me buying in the near future is Sersi and the likely Mandarin from a Shang-Chi wave/set

“WandaVision” spoiler, but one of the figures from the Disney+ wave was revealed over at the Marvel site: https://www.marvel.com/articles/gear...sion-episode-8
Note: please apply spoiler discretion with commenting on this figure, for the sake of those who haven’t seen the show. |

Not that I’m aware of. I had tried changing the text color so that it was only visible when highlighted, but none match the site backdrop.

If there's nothing else we can do, then alright. I feel like Tokunation, Toyark and Hisstank should have an overhaul to a TFW style system.

I will wait until Dorksidetoys.com buys it on clearance from Hasbro and can offer it for $15. Red Guardian looks good and I like the helmeted head but I am nor dropping $40 on this.
Spoiler alert - not buying the repaint of the other figure we are not mentioning. If you haven't watched WandaVision most recent episodes, a lot happens. |

Yes the WandaVision figure was totally expected. I am guessing the other figure from that show in the wave will be a design glimpsed in the most recent episode (everyone who's seen it knows what I'm referring to).

My classic Thanos arrived today. I dig it a lot. Aside from a wobbly left hip the joints are all nice and tight. I like the alternate king head much more than I thought I would, and it looks great on the old WM exclusive Thanos' body. The subtle blue paint apps are great, and the paint on mine is clean all around. I give it an 8/10. If we'd gotten a ball-joint torso instead of the ab crunch I'd rate it higher.
I'm not sure how I feel about pearlescent plastic. In this case, the gold boots, gloves, and chest-plate/shoulder-pad thingie. I get the effect they're going for, and it's no doubt more economical (for Hasbro) than giving every requisite piece a gold metallic paint finish. The randomness of the "swirls" can create a less-than-desirable result sometimes, though. For instance, the right shoulder "flare" on mine has an effect that makes it looks like there's a crease in it. The left boot on mine also has significantly more "pearl" than the right. Like, noticeably more. |

The Disney+ reveal is exactly what I was hoping for. I am very excited to see the other rumored figure. I will also be needing a figure of the villain ASAP! Maybe in the rumored wave 2?
I like the two pack well enough, but I don't currently feel like I will pick it up, at least not right away. I love Rachel Weisz as an actress though so I could see myself loving her performance enough to get it eventually. Or maybe picking her up loose. What I don't enjoy about the two pack is yet again giving us a pack that includes an alternate head that easily could (or imo should) have come with the original Red Guardian figure in the first place. Obviously Hasbro is gonna do re-releases, which I appreciate, but the original RedGuardian feels like an incomplete figure without the helmet. The little action figure of Red Guardian is a nice addition though. |

I'm hesitant to get excited for the Disney+ figure revealed today until the finale comes out at the end of the week. So far they've only been on screen for a whopping one mid-credits stinger.

Man, that's three Marvel MOndays in a row that have been a total bust for me personally. Who the fuck is Melina?

I was also underwhelmed by the Marvel Monday figure set. Oh well. More money saved. And the spoiler figure from WandaVision was expected, like many of you are saying. Unfortunately, someone whipped up a custom before I had a chance to watch the episode on Friday and posted it on a Facebook toy group I'm part of. Props for working that fast, but I was bummed out that it was spoiled. I don't want to say too much, so I'll stop there.
Somewhat off topic, but my wallet is enjoying this year so far. I was able to get the Stilt Man BAF without having to buy an entire wave of figures (I just wanted the Hand Ninjas), classic Thanos, and Dark Surfer. I got the entire HoX/PoX wave, most of the villains wave and a few of the Marvel Monday figures on pre-order, but that's it so far. It's a far lighter year so far than in the past. I'm assuming that Hasbro is waiting for April to announce the Disney+ TV show figures, which I think I'll be able to skip out on. Eventually that rumored/leaked Eternals wave will get listed and I'll skip that too. That saves me quite a bit of money! Regardless of how you collect, I hope you are enjoying 2021 thus far! |
