Over the years I've really developed a greater appreciation for Batman Begins...in fact, aside from Leger's Joker in The Dark Knight, I think Begins might be my favorite Batman movie of Nolan's trilogy. And I think I prefer this batsuit to the other one for the same reason someone else in this thread said...the other one looks a wee bit too tactical. And DAMN, does this figure looks awesome. It really blows away the Keaton Batman figure both in terms of quality and overall build, IMO. Elbows bend a full 90+ degrees, good side/front/back mobility in the hips, and no loose joints or blatant QC issues. I got to the case right as it was packed out so I had my pick and the only thing I really had to look out for was the crazy eyes. This figure here, aside from a loose thread on the cape seam and a slight indent across the tummy from a twist tie, is absolutely perfect. Hell, they even sculpted textures onto the palms of his gloves! Last edited by Dolemite; 11-21-2016 at 11:30 AM.. |

Found 'Em by scarrviper, on Flickr
I had the opportunity to stop by toysRus this morning and much to my surprise they actually had both of these new exclusives on a bottom shelf in the neca aisle. They had at least 20 of batman and 10 or so of Harley. It's true that you really do need to compare these in the store. Most of the batman figures had wonky eyes and the paint on the mouth area varies greatly from figure to figure. Some were sloppy, some had a strange black film of paint over the flesh tones, and some were very pink on one side of the face. Also watch the belts, particularly the dark wash that has been applied to it. As for Harley, I had to pick the best of the worst. Some of them had really sloppy paint apps. Be sure to check the hair, the face paint, the smaller details like her diamond patterns, and even her undies. I will be repainting her makeup and eyebrows for sure, and doing some touchups all over. I don't get to fully open these until X-mas unfortunately, so I can't speak for the build quality yet but I've heard they are solid. I did open the boxes briefly to make sure all the contents are there. One of the Harley's at the store was missing the background insert from the box! Batman's cape does feel higher quality than the Keaton one. Speaking of which, I saw at least 4 brand new Keaton's on the shelf today. |

What's the price on the Bale Bats at TRU? Also has anyone seen it Los Angeles or the Ledger Joker recently in LA?

Yeah, I like this 7" Bat-Bale way more then the 7" Keaton Batman. Something about the Keaton figure just felt off to me, mostly in how the ab crunch made the torso look weird and the fact that the ears were warped to shit. I actually returned that one to TRU, but Bat-Bale is bad-ass. Great figure.
That's part of why I'm looking forward to a 7" Returns Keaton someday, the possibility that the design/construction will be more up to date. I'd also like a different material for the cape since cloth doesn't really capture the look of the leather cape in the movie. Maybe something like the cape on the 18" Keaton or the pleather-like material of the Mattel Multiverse figure. Last edited by Wonderful Toys; 11-26-2016 at 07:22 PM.. |

We have some cases of these and the newest Predator series in the back at the Toys R Us I work at, but when I asked if we could stock them, my supervisor said that NECA has special representatives that come into the store and stock their stuff, so I don't know why they haven't done that yet.

These are in NY now. They're spreading like wildfire!
I left Harley as I'm not into any of her Arkham designs...I prefer old-school Animated Series Harley, and not any of her sleazy juggalo looks. But I do dig Bat-Bale, so I grabbed that figure up. And yeah, that stare. It's like he's saying, "Wait a second...I'M BATMAN?!?"

Probly some poor bastard up at 330 in the am doing a double shift kids driving him nuts wife always giving him crap. Lucky we don't read more about these guys ending their lives or worse rampaging through their coworkers just because their minds snap from looking at 10 billion of the same figure for 12 hours straight

The Suit looks Great but the Head with those Eyes and his Legs look too Skinny. His Calves look like well nothing.
Big Difference in Musculature.

Okay but one of these toys is based on a real guy wearing a costume and the others are based on comic book art.

You are good, you even managed to get Batman to look like he is mostly off of his recent crack habit in the photos. That takes talent. Even with your talent...that crazy left eye in the first one gives him away.

The eyes on my Batman aren't all that bad. Some of the ones I've seen online fared much worse.

I considered ordering one offline but I am afraid of the eyes. I may try to find one in person instead. Have the TRU been stocking them? I haven't seen them in their online website yet

Haven't seen them at TRU online, but I did spot them in stores over the weekend. One had them with the NECA stuff, and the other had them with the DC stuff.
