Yeah, I'm much more a fan of the more cohesive ESB costume, but for some reason every artist and his dog seems to prefer the ROTJ version.
That said, I would like to see a ROTJ Boba Fett, if for no other reason than that the level of articulation and sculpted detail in the Black Series line has improved tremendously since 2013, and the original Boba Fett (and many of the other initial releases) looks a bit archaic now. They're probably planning something stupid like waiting for the 40th anniversary of ROTJ in 2023, though... |

How many parts were reused between the original Black Series Darth Vader and the 40th Anniversary version? Boba Fett's costume changes no less than Vader's between ESB and ROTJ. The gauntlets are different, the helmet is different, the belt is different, the pouches are different, the ankles would have to be resculpted, the dents in the armour plates are all different and so on and so forth.

I'm a sucker for variant Stormtroopers, but I rarely add new toys to my collection these days; trying to keep my collection tight & manageable. But somehow the stupid silver version seen here is appealing. It's the kind of thing I would've done as a kid - paint a Stormtrooper with a silver rattlecan.

I agree that the SHF figure does a much better job and doing the clean look, but the black series figure is still pretty good. I am not a black series collector, but these figures have made me at least start getting the black series Mandalorian figures, or at least the figures of characters in the Mandalorian armor.

Guess my Mafex ROTJ Fett will have to do for now. Life is hard, I know. Oh, and you just KNEW this guy was coming! Day one purchase for me. Hopefully he comes with The Child as an accessory, but I'm not sure since he's coming separately (I think in May?). Beskar Mando looks sweet, however, and with a jetpack too! |

I think the difference in his portrayal between the movies is part of it for me. He doesn't do much in either but in Empire he's at least shown to be a clever/competent tracker and enforcer whereas in Return he comes off like a drunk who dies by slapstick routine. Still at the end of the day I think he looks cool in both outfits.
