I hope they don't have those proportions in the movie. The only one that looks well proportion is Michelangelo. As far as design, they sure look like TMNT........designed by Michael Bay.

Not bad, but they could be better. I'm definitely going to get a Raph, but I'll wait till after I've seen the movie at least once before deciding on the others.
Hopefully we'll get a look at the other five figures known to be coming out here soon. Shredder will probably be a must-have, and April will probably be worth picking up.

Well, visually they definitely now look like Turtles that are Ninjas in that they are so big and bulky they'd have to be slow as hell in a fight.
Heh, finally some other fan base is getting that Bay-effect that TF fans have been going through for years now. |

Raph's not a total loss I guess but the little lever on Leo's back makes me think these are just the dumb gimmicky toys and maybe there will be some better ones.

I'm... skeptical at those being Playmates products. They don't do the screw-in-shell and waist rotation on the Turtles. I could be wrong but both things are very much against their style.
Was Bay credited as character designer in Transformers? Directors don't usually design characters, only approve, so I'm wondering why everyone says the Transformers were designed by him. Bay's not directing this film so I'm even LESS convinced he designed the Turtles.

Good grief, what the hell happened? Every other time pics were leaked, I liked the way they looked. Why is Raph's head suddenly the size of a peanut? He looks like they gave him the head from a smaller scale figure.
Actually, all of them besides Mikey seem to have tiny heads... but Raphael's is definitely the worst. |

Movie designs aside, these are horrible looking toys.
I often wonder if Jonathan Liebesman actually feels grateful that Bay is taking the heat off him being the actual director behind this reboot? Last edited by Paxtin; 03-14-2014 at 06:15 PM.. |

I would hope kids are smart enough to tell the difference when they see commercials for the movie on TV.

Good Lord, those poor turtles!! Absolutely ugly!!!
As if Transformers wasn't enough, Bay had to ruin the TMNT franchise as well!! Is there a way to get rid of this guy once & for all?? And the even sadder part is this movie will most certainly be a commercial succes...!! This world is doomed!!! |

outstanding another part of my childhood shat on by the post-millennial crowd, These turtles make Megan Foxes mutant giganto thumb look good, lets review the list of treasured 70s-80's-and 90's icons that Hollywood can't re boot without over engineering in there own twisted image, OK... TF, X-men, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, The world should have ended in 1998, at least our culture would have gone out with some dignity.

I have been a life long TMNT fan and I am sad to say that NONE of these figures interest me.
*sigh*

Bwa-Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Revenge is MINE at last! All the nay-saying for this movie and line is pretty much how I felt the first time I saw what the cartoon did to a comic series I enjoyed back in the '80's.
With that said I've got no problem with the new designs for the turtles so far, I'll watch the movie and if I am entertained then that's what I will base my opinion on.

These look like the gimmicky toys and probably protos you can even see the straps on Leo's legs not painted. I like the design but will wait for the proper action figa! No wonder why playmates did not want these pics release.

Ehh, that's par for the course with Playmates though. Just look at Dogpound from the Nick TMNT line: they didn't even bother to paint the leather harness sculpted onto his chest, which is kind of a big detail.

Ouch the more they announce or show about this movie the less I'd watch it even on a dare.
So ugly designs go with an untalented actress in a main role, a director's who work I don't enjoy, a white Shredder, the dreaded words Platinum Dunes production and producer Michael Bay, topped off with what is sure to be a load of dark and gritty since every movie has to try to be the Dark Knight. Wow and I thought Hollywood had been mean to other franchises that were cool when we were kids. Turtles fans may be the worst group in need of a support group after this. |

Way worse than I ever imagined them looking. I feel bad for kids who are attached to the way they look on the Nick show, then they are going to go to the movies to see...this?!?
Does anyone know if the Nick TMNT will continue after the movies release? |

I will wait to see the movie in the dollar theater, then I will make my judgement. But the sweater....

The problem's not the designs, the designs are fine. The toys are just cheap-looking. They don't look like turtles? Do you know what a turtle looks like? Without the shells, the TMNT have NEVER looked like turtles.
