So this thread is pretty self-explanatory, it's a thread dedicated to the newest line of action figures you're into. Here you can post pics, but also give a little backstory as to why you're now into this toyline. Is it just an urge? Is it a line you'll actually stick with? What's the story? I also apologize if there's a thread already like this, if there is, then a simple merge is in order.
I'll start it off, recently I got into Street Fighter figures. After doing a trade with Behindthemask and getting a NECA Ryu figure, I've been wanting more ever since. It was just a matter of getting NECA, or SOTA figures. I figured I'd go with NECA because I already have a NECA Ryu. But after doing some research, I found out NECA did barely any figures and SOTA did a whole lot. So SOTA is the line for me. I've started my SOTA collection already by getting a Blanka figure, but I'm hoping to have a lot more in the future. This may be the "feeling of the moment" kinda thing, but this very well be my favourite toyline that I have. It's well detailed, interchangeable hands and head, accessories, articulation, everything to keep me enticed. So now I ask you, what's the newest line you're into? |

Transformers Prime all the way.
I'm not a big GI Joe collector but... GI Joe retaliation is starting to get me excited and the recent waves of the line have been sweet as hell. I'm also hooked on Halo megabloks minifigs and trying to fight getting hooked on the marvel ones to go with them(at least cap, ironman, and wolverine). Which I do gotta say, the minifigs go fantastic with Prime cyberverse arcee and the human aliance scout figures. |

Marvel Megabloks Minis is my new thing, I always have to buy one where ever I see them.
Started about a month ago when I saw them on clearance at a WalMart for a buck. I bought all they had left, about 5-6. Now I want them all for the Avengers Helicarrier when it comes out. Plus I love the blind pack aspect of it, makes it fun. Other than that I buy what appeals to me regardless of line. |

@Snowflakian, you and me both with Megabloks.
Their weapons work with Cyberverse figures too! I must admit Transformers Kreos are too cute to pass up, Bot shots too. |

Seems like Transformers Prime is the new thing. Is anyone having trouble finding certain figures?

I've gotten into terminator. I love NECA and have a few predators, robocop and anya from GoW3. basically anything NECA i am a sucker for. Although, I wish my Terminator from the first movie had articulation. His arms and head move. Lower body, not so much

My ROTF Brawn is now forever a halo battle jeep with one guy in the back, and one hanging on side shooting. If hasbro ever releases the green warpath remold into hardhead, I'll be using that as the scorpion tank for my halo minifigs. They also sit perfectly in the HA jeep, and I have the covenant using the snowspeeder as a pilotable mech. xD |

I've been trying to finish my Ironman armoury, I keep picking away at the Marvel Universe lines, with ebay lots, fellow arkers, and local retail. I've always wanted to start collecting Hellboy figures. I want to buy like a massive loose collection for a good price as his moc/mib figures go for a good chunk of change on ebay. I don't want to piece the collection together either unless it's a fair price. Especially factoring in shipping and exchange rates. I would also like to get the new gremlins lines done at some point, But that's kinda a back burner line to collect for me. |

There's a local comicshop where I got Ryu from and they have like almost every Neca StreetFighter figure. If you want/need certain ones I can let you know, if he has them and how much, typically buddy was chargin like 18-22/figure moc, but they've been there for a while so he may give a better deal for a bulk lot.....

I'm really enjoying collecting the NECA Predators, which is a change from Transformers. I can count myself lucky I suppose, because my figures have no paint problems or broken joints. Might also get some HALO figures.

Little overpriced though. I'd rather spend $20 on a Pred figure rather than $19 on a Halo figure.

They work with the clip system too. Which makes it even harder to pass them up.

That's a pretty cool looking custom, Hank. Make sure you create a WIP thread in the Creative forum so we can follow your progress.
As for new lines for me, there's a few new ones. I'm not sure if I can count Transformers Prime, since I've been collecting them consistantly for about 28 years now and Prime is just the latest version. Aside from that, this is the first year (or so) that I've actively collected Power Rangers. Mostly the Zords from PR Samurai, but I have some of the figures as well. Also got in on the Marvel MegaBloks, but it looks like I probably won't get Series three unless I go on Ebay or the BST forums, especially now that the Marvel Legos are being sighted at retail. I've seen plenty of MegaBloks Series 1 and 2, but I've only seen 3 once. I can't really count Star Wars or Joes in this, as I've never really stopped collecting them. I just severely cut down on how many I buy now.

But a few weeks ago, after finding some Preds in another store, I finally went into FP to find no Chucky and a crapton of Predators. They had everyone but the Masked Classic (which is a bit of a letdown but hey!) so now I've swapped Transformers, which my parents claim I've outgrown anyway, and in all truth they haven't moved off my shelf in a couple of months. So now I'm collecting the Predator stuff I hunted for years! (Also, Snowflakian, I had the same idea with the Halo mega bloks. Too bad I'm missing most of them now, would give Brawn a purpose on my shelf.) Last edited by LeChap; 04-09-2012 at 10:08 AM.. |
