That was many years ago, and over the years fans have clamored for modernized Macross 7 toys. Last year was a surprise when Yamato announced plans for 1/60 VF-22S Sturmvogel II's from Macross Dynamite 7, and later on, the VF-11C.
Of course, a Macross 7 lineup without the mecha of Nekki Basara is...well; incomplete! While fans still cling onto hope for Diamond Force's VF-17 Nightmare(s), Yamato has revealed(via their blog and showing at Summer Wonderfest 2010), the 1/60 VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie! The YF-19 was the 1st 1/60 Macross Plus toy by Yamato, and since it was the "hero mecha" of the popular OVA series/movie, it's fitting to see it rereleased. Another entry followed up the previous one with comparisons of the original 1/60 YF-19 with the upcoming July rerelease, side by side. There are some notable differences, hit the title bar to see what the differences are! | | Credit: Yamato Blog | Views: 717 | | | Posted on 07-14-2010 at 11:35 AM by Shin Densetsu under Macross Toy News. | In August, Yamato will be rereleasing the following Macross 7(and 1 from Macross Dynamite 7) 1/60 variable fighters:- VF-11C Thunderbolt III
- VF-22S Sturmvogel II Gamlin Custom
- VF-22S Sturmvogel II Max Custom
- VF-22S Sturmvogel II Milia Custom
Of course, a Macross 7 line is virtually incomplete without Basara's VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie, and it will be released either at the end of this year or early next year. Perhaps we may see Yamato's progress on it at Tokyo Toy Show 2010, which will start very soon? Another notable absentee is the VF-17D Nightmare, could it be up to bat next?

This release of the VF-1S Roy Focker Special is molded in bright white just like the VF-1J Valkyrie Hikaru Ichijo Custom, and includes the same swappable, rounded(and larger), TV-style hands. This is also the 1st time that Yamato has made a TV version of the venerable Skull 1, and the 1st time that they have made a TV-style Roy Focker pilot figure. Do You Remember Love? seems to be the more popular media tie in compared to the TV series, and DYRL? VF-1S' have been all that have been released by Yamato up until now.
Both the solo release with the TV Roy Focker pilot figure, and the bundled VF-1S Super Valkyrie with Hikaru Ichijo pilot figure were released last week. Hit the title bar to see the TV Roy Focker Special! | | Credit: benbenben4213 | Views: 1,141 | | | |
