This valkyrie is from the movie Maross-Do You Remember Love?. Made famous by that movie, this valkyrie is used by Hikaru at the end, in his climactic attack run concluding with the destruction of Bodolza. Despite a short showing in the movie, this design is very popular amongst Macross fans, and is the only VF-1S that Hikaru can truly call his own(for those that don't know, his VF-1S in the TV series was passed down to him after the demise of Roy Focker).
With the 1/48 version proving popular with fans during it's release a few years ago, this new 1/60 version is a welcome addition. With this release, we will now have all of Hikaru's valkyries seen in the TV series & DYRL movie in the new 1/60 line. | | | Views: 508 | | | Posted on 11-28-2008 at 03:05 AM by Shin Densetsu under Macross Toy News. | Bandai's first all new valkyrie toy since their DX 1/65 Macross 7 toyline from the mid-90's is the Macross Frontier DX 1/60 VF-25F Alto type. With design influences ranging from the classic VF-1 to the F-14 Tomcat & SU-27 Flanker, the VF-25 possesses a sleek fighter mode, swing wings, and has a rather unique battroid mode, reminscent of Kawamori Shoji's mecha designs for Eureka 7 & Sousei no Aquarion. The plane piloted by SMS Skull Leader Ozma Lee, the VF-25S features a bull's skull with a dagger through it, a menacing sight reminiscent of Roy Focker's VF-1S Skull One from the original Macross series, and fitting for a later generation Skull Leader. Almost always seen carrying heavy armor(the VF-25 is also the first valkyrie capable of transforming with heavy armor on), anticipation is high for an eventual release of heavy armor for the VF-25, especially for Ozma. It is also fitting that Ozma's valk is set for release in the same month as Alto's, as Ozma is Alto's mentor in the series.
