The DX prototype is a significant improvement over the DX VF-25 toys from Macross Frontier, featuring significantly longer and more detailed landing gear, thigh swivels, and the ability for giant beam rifle to mount underneath even with the landing gear down. Could these significant improvements make their way to a DX VF-25 2.0, possibly by next fall?
The VF-27 Lucifer was a menace to the Frontier fleet in the 1st half of Macross F. Exceeding the speed and power of the VF-25 Messiah, this fighter was fitting for the Macross Galaxy fleet. The Valkyrie shown is the VF-1J and as you can see it's a work in progress(probably in 1/100 scale). The 1st release will most likely be the VF-1J Hikaru Custom followed by the iconic VF-1S Roy Focker Special AKA "Skull One".
This is the 1st time that Bandai has made an all new transforming VF-1 toy in over 2 decades(the last time they designed a transforming VF-1 from scratch was in the 80's with the High Complete Model AKA HCM VF-1). It's clearly a far cry from the venerable 1/55 VF-1, being the 1st all new, modern VF-1 toy by Bandai! The resin parts are a work in progress and what we wonder is how well the wing hinges will stand up to the added weight of the Tornado Pack. Will the hinges be strengthened, possibly with more detents before release? The menace from Macross Frontier was not the only item present, as the DX Macross Quarter and VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie from the VF HI-METAL line were also on display.

The menacing variable fighter from Macross Frontier was a welcome surprise in the DX line and we now have updated release information on this upcoming release:- Set for release in February 2010
- Price: 16,800 yen
- Comes with Brera Sterne and Ranka Lee figures
- Shield with knife
- Additional accessories include swappable hands, and parts for the beam gunpod

Yamato has just released 1/60 versions of the following Valkyries flown by the couple:- VF-1J Super Valkyrie Max Custom
- VF-1J Super Valkyrie Milia Custom
- VF-1D Virgin Road
Each of these Valkyries were seen after Max's fateful encounter with Milia in a park, where she tried to assassinate him. Max convinced her that it was better to love than to fight, and soon afterwards we see them fly in the VF-1D Virgin Road Valkyrie(only shown during their wedding day episode). Not too long afterwards we see their personalized VF-1J's.
