Toyfare #152 To Debut New Marvel Figures

A look into what we might see in ToyFare magazine #152 this Wednesday. Marvel Universe and Iron Man 2 figures. Not sure if the magazine will show us pics or just info. I know that most of them have been confirmed but there is a few that we didn't know about like the IM2 figs.

Plus Toyfair (not Toyfare mag) will be held on Feb 14-17 so we will know soon enough.

This a rumor so we will have to wait until Wednesday to see if this is true. (I hope it is)

Havok was one of the Fans' Choice Poll winners, so he's definitely coming. That's true.

So, you want to know some teasers? How's this...

- We will see another Iron Man & Spider_Man, although not the ones you'd expect.

- One team will be completed, while another team will get its first member.

- Two characters from the first year will get new versions.

- We will see a great mix of exclusives coming this summer...from very different sources.

- There will be at least one character that no one could have predicted. (but feel free to guess!)

- Finally, we will see a new Captain!

Hm... Well, we got House of M Spidey. What would people not expect? Paperbag? 2099? Ben Reilly? Scarlet? I'm hoping for something really obscure.

Looks like Invisible Woman is pretty much confirmed. But hm, maybe the next one is Young Avengers?

Not a whole lot of guesses on this.

This is exciting.

The only characters that would REALLY fit this are ones like Howard the Duck, Rocket Raccoon, or Kick-Ass (if they could somehow go through Icon to count it as a Marvel figure).

Iron Man could be anything. He's got a lot of obscure armors out there. Bag-Spidey would be probably the least expected, but Spidey 2099 or Scarlet Spider would be pretty unexpected, too. Heck, I'd be happy with an "Iron Spider."

I'm betting it's the Wrecker, not the Invisible Woman, but it could be either. Another team getting its' first member? Dark Avengers, perhaps? Would certainly be in keeping with this year's theme.

I'm assuming they mean characters that aren't already remade a few times yet (Iron Man, Wolvie, Spidey). Daredevil and Black Panther?

I'm sure Wal-Mart's all but guaranteed at least one exclusive. The others could be anyone.

Not a clue here, aside from what's already been mentioned.

Could be anything from a proper "modern" Captain America to Captain Britain to Captain Marvel to...well yeah. Lot of Captains out there in Marvel. Heck, could even be Steve Rogers old "Captain" uniform but I'd suspect they'd name that one USAgent.

I would love the Hulk Buster...but I know Hasbro...He's going to be less articulated than the Wolverine figures!

Kitty Prye...purchased. Aim Agent (depending on how it looks and where it's released)...purchased.

I hope that the Aim Agent is single carded so I can pick up about 5 of them.

Damn it Johnny! You are killing my excitement. I forgot about the deluxe XMO Wolvie figs like the Blob. I hope that is not the case for Hulkbuster.

Can't wait til Toy Fair. I need my plastic crack fix lol and since the new figures aren't in stores yet {SW 4, Iron Man 2, and 2010 wave 2} then at least I can stare and dream of the future releases. Hurry up with pics from Toy Fair.

I know I can't wait for Toyfair. I'll be getting the Toyfare magazine also and hopefully they have pics of the upcoming IM 2 and MU figs.

I'm guessing this means the New Avengers team will be completed. We HAVE most of the figures already, just missing Dr. Strange and ASX Wolverine.

Im thinking it might be Invisible Woman or the Wrecker.

I've said it before and I still go with Wrecker for one reason. While MU doesn't seem to give much love to villains, they seem to give even less to female characters.

Okay so... When is the toyfair?

First member of new team - calling it. Iron Patriot, Dark Avengers.

Completion will be Wrecker (could be Sue, but I'll stick with Wrecker for now)

Hmm...well if we get ASX Wolverine, not only will the New Avengers team be close to completion in MU, it also coincides with the rumor that we are getting a new version of a character released last year(Wolverine). I think Iron Spider is the other new version of a previously released character. He is in the books from the last few years and the costume was significant in Civil War, this ties into the rumored Civil War comic packs too. Speaking of which, so does ASX Wolverine!

I think Iron Patriot will be the 1st figure of a new team(Dark Avengers). Ties into the HAMMER stuff, and also is an easy excuse for Hasbro to repaint the upcoming Extremis right away this year.

For a new Captain my guess is either a New Cap w/out Daredevil body, Civil War modern Captain America(again ties into the Civil War comic packs), or Captain Marvel.

Toy Fair is this coming weekend.

The new exclusives could be scattered across many stores, but I do expect walgreens to be one of them as per the deals awhile back.

God I hope so. I'm going to be very disappointed if it's Captain Britain.
Seriously, though. It's about time for Dark Avengers. A Hammer theme for 2010 would be pointless without a solid majority of the team.

Paper bag spidey, ben reilly, iron spidey. Ironman could be any armor. Maybe 80s armor ironman?


Fantastic 4 and the wreckers are the only teams with only 1 member left. (New avengers is missing 4 members, spiderwoman, wasp, mockingbird, and dr. strange.) New team could be dark avengers, or new warriors(firestar is counted as superfriends and avengers maybe?), or even power pack.
Maybe even x-factor. The teams we know it's not are alpha flight, x-force, avengers(all but dark or young), fantastic 4, the wreckers, and x-men.

Ironman, black panther, daredevil(armored version?) Spiderman, wolverine and the list could go on.

Walgreens deal, walmart, toys r us, maybe target or sears?

DarkHawk or Nova Prime? Neither of those would be expected. Heck or any new warriors for that matter.

Captain Marvel, Captain Britain. Probably Britain since we've already had Union Jack and Blade.

80's Iron Man was mentioned a few posts above. I think if 80's Iron Man(forget which armors) would be covered under the Iron Man 2 comic waves.

I'm starting to think now that the MU Iron Man we won't expect is the all new one he just got in the comics.

Probably, but who knows on Ironman, maybe it'll be Ironman 2020 then. Since he's more marvel U and less ironman movie. I doubt it's starks brand spanking new armor, as that's barely even premiered in the comics yet. Stark Disassembled the last chapter isn't out yet is it?

I kinda hope for captain britain personally. Since I'd like to finish out my MI13 team. The new captain marvel has some weird name like the protector or something. So if it's captain marvel, it's probably a retro one. Which I'm fine with too, if it means a cosmic blue variant.

Just occurred to me that "One team will be completed" may not mean with one figure. So it could be the New Avengers, or an X-Men team, or something like that.

WHat if the one team with first member were the Morlocks or Inhumans or somebody we expect less?

I really hope for a lot of the figures mentioned but I hope they hit a TON of the newer comic characters while still treating the older variations with the figures that they desereve. My biggest hope for this year is to have more "unknown" characters to get the 3 3/4 scale treatment. One would be Nova for me both prime and classic. I just feel like he has not had a proper treatment. I also hope that they give us a proper female body with corrected arm articulation. I would love to see some GAURDIANS OF THE GALAXY as well. or on those same terms...sexy Gamora?

The fact that Hasbro has stated 2010 to be Mutant heavy, makes me want to believe nothing short of X-Force! We already have Wolverine, Warpath and soon to be released Archangel. C'mon, let's hear it for X-23 and Wolfsbane! That would at least complete the team from Angels and Demons. Besides Domino, I don't need an Elixr or Vanisher that badly...but it would definitely be an added plus.

Just make sure we get Cable too, hasbro.

Blackbolt's a thought, with his recent rumblings in War of Kings, and even secret invasion that's a thought. I didn't even think about the inhumans. Which also opens the way for a crystal figure for avengers or inhumans.

Yeah, X-23 should be a no brainer for them. At least I should hope so. And I'm confident we'll get our X-Force Archangel variant. Wolfsbane would be fantastic, but I'd love to have X-23, Logan, Warpath, Archangel, and Domino most, personally.

Hellfire Club would be great, and could keep with the mutant heavy theme. Plus, Hellfire footsoldiers were a fan's choice option, so someone inside has an interest in the Club.

Blackbolt would be appreciated, but since I've never gone cosmic with my reading I'd look more to get Dr. Strange and Professor X and slap that bad boy in the Illuminati.

Illuminati would be a great team to complete. However, I would very much like them to do new mold for Mr. Fantastic so that he is more...oh, how does Hulk so eloquently refer to him? Ah yes, "Stretchy man".

Archangel does not qualify as his Warren Worthington III counterpart in the action figure department. Was there mention of an actual Angel figure that I missed out on?

I thought Archangel and Angel to be one in the same but I could be wrong

They are both the same person but different versions. Warren was Angel at 1st, but after being kidnapped by Apocalypse in an effort to turn him into Death, he became Archangel. He's been called that ever since.

now if they will make Polaris to match with Havok i would be thrilled

I'm in Maryland and we got almost 3 feet last week and now its snowing and we expect one more foot. Its also suppose to snow this Fri/Sat I believe.

Sweet... I like Havok a lot. Not even a huge fan, but he looks solid. Archangel and Colossus look good, though I'm not sold on that head for Piotr...

Kitty looks nice and Juggs looks sweet. I will be getting all five of those, and then waiting for the A.I.M.'s to drop in price and army build a bit. I'd like to have about 7... I have 5 Hand Ninjas and I feel like a few more would be better.

I really hope the Hulkbuster Iron Man is bigger than it appears there. It should at least be roughly the size of the Iron Monger figure.

Otherwise, though, those all look pretty awesome. Is it just me or does Juggy look like he might have a removable helmet?

If it isn't the size of The Hulk I will be extremely disappointed.

The image of each figure is indeed placed on the page one at a time. The Hulkbuster Iron Man is roughly the the size of the Hulk figure. He does appear shorter on the page here than the actual figure will be compared to the others next to him.

How do I know this? One of my best friends does the layout for ToyFare magazine.

Cool! Hulkbuster is one of my favorite armors, I hope we get Modular armor eventually! MUST HAVE!

Removable helmet would be sick, but it'll leave me wishing they did it with Thor...

In some ways I wish they did too but.....It'd probably wouldn't fit very snugly and could look awkward. I guess I'm thinking primarily of Luke Cage's beanie and how they designed it. I'm not sure how "fitted" it is but it seems like it rests on his head not actually appearing to be on it

If Juggy's helmet is removable I hope it has some kind of snapping mechanism to help keep it on his head. I bought the Juggernaut from the Spider-Man line that came out about a little less than a year ago and I hated his removable helmet. It just sat on top and would easily fall off.

They messed up on that but if you look at the pics you will see it says Marvel Universe.
