I was going to post a conversation thread tomorrow morning so people can talk about before, during, and after it goes on sale, but this thread can work.

I want to get both tomorrow, but I think I might be only able to get one. At first I figured it would be a tough call as to which to get, but come on, it's He-Man!

I really hope they don't sell out the first day. I probably won't be able to order until next week. If they do sell out initially, I hope that they go for a second production run.

I really want both of them badly. Actually 2 of each, one to open, one to display.

You maybe ok due to the price per fig but the limit on how many you can purchase has been raised to 10 now. So all of those people that feel the need to Army build He-Man must be happy as hell.

I might be down for He-Man but I'm not sure yet, I don't want to get sucked into a line of 20 dollar figures! I get crazy completionist attitudes sometimes.

I have King Greyskull, but I dont think I will buy these. In all honesty I perfer the action figure/statue by four horseman and the toy series that failed. Little to old school looking and really dont have room for larger figures, need to save room for Marvel line.

I'm thinking the shipping will probably be from 6 to 8 bucks, that's how much the King Grayskull was.

Originally they set the limit at 3 but people complained that it was too low. Now that it is set for 10, I hope the scalpers don't go crazy.

I also hope they've upgraded their site to be able to handle the extra traffic. The SDCC debacle was very upsetting. I couldn't get an order in.

Got 2 of each, He-Man and Beast Man. No major issues with slowdown.

I can't order today but I checked the site and it seems to be running very smoothly. Well I hope they last until after the hollidays so I can order them.

Of course I go to check out and I realize I forgot my CC, so I'll have to finish this at home tonight.

By the by, for those of you buying, it seems you can only pay via credit card. I thought paypal was going to be an option, but I'm not seeing it.

That was rather painless. A lot better than that SDCC debacle.

Mattel eliminated the paypal option. I think they were having problems processing with it.

I said I wasn't going to buy any of these, but Beast-Man is so tempting. Perhaps if my King Grayskull sales soon I'll go ahead and use that money to buy both figs.

Hey, I checked them out. Those are pretty cool. As a kid all I ever had was Spikor and Modulok. My brother had Moss Man and Beast Man. I actually just found my Spikor yesterday. I'm debating buying one of these. Will they be done up in the vintage packaging?

After seeing Skeletor, I think the $20 price tag on these will soon be overlooked!

I got my 4 figures today!

All 4 items were crammed into a small shipping box, which damaged the cards on all 4!

I'm returning 2 of them for 2 new ones.

Matty collector has good customer service, they should help you out. Hopefully since this is a collectors line, they will treat the packages better in the future.

I called them today after I calmed down from being pissed off. I explained that I bought 4, 2 to open and 2 to send to AFA. All 4 were bent to hell! The lady said I could return them for an exchange. I will send them extra bubble wrap & styrofoam peanuts so they can pack my items correctly. I also requested that they only pack 1 figure in a box. I offered to pay extra shipping if required.

Well that sucks. I hope they all don't arrive like that.

Crap these make great christmas presents! Maybe I will order some...or maybe just wait for Skeletor than have them all shipped to me at once!

That's what I am holding off for. I figure if I get all 3 at once I could save on shipping. In that sense, I'm glad they haven't sold out yet.

It's probably being shipped from that holding center. Are these being shipped via UPS or USPS?

Mine says the same thing about Puerto Rico with a number after it that doesn't work. I really am not sweating it........maybe I will start sweating it in another week.

Mine justed showed up today. packaging seemed OK. Cards are slightly curved around the top edges. No huge deal though.

Was it as bad as Hasbro Toy Shop? Their packing has been a nightmare for me, I always get damaged toys - and often get the wrong toys

I've never ordered from Hasbro Toy Shop. All my MOSC toys must be in mint condition. I only buy modern toys that I can hand pick myself.

Hasbro Toy Shop has started to sell AFA Joes, so I'll probably order something soon.

I love this toy line, but the price tag is killing me. I can buy 2 classic Ninja Turtles for one of these and still have change left over for Taco Bell.

Price is killing me too. If I had decent income, naturally I wouldn't mind, but I'm almost always freakin broke. Toy collecting is about the worst hobby I could possibly be into. Coming to this site every day, constantly seeing more stuff I want sure isn't helping Glutton for punishment, ahoy!

I do the same for the most part. There've been exceptions (such as last year's SDCC exclusives, or the ML Sunfire) where my only reasonable option was HTS however.

Anyway, I didn't intend to derail the discussion from He-Man. It was just interesting to hear Mattel just threw the toys in a box with no care. Sounds a lot like HTS. It seems these companies would understand that collectors want their items to arrive as pristine as possible and do their best to allow for that. I certainly don't think we should have to splurge for AFA graded ones to get that treatment either.

BUT - Oh well! I suppose toy packaging isn't really worth getting too upset over in the grand scheme.

I know, the other sites I go to concentrate on one line of toys.....this site has all the toy lines!

If I can't find a specific toy MOSC, I normally go to ebay to find an AFA graded one.

Last time I ordered 4 figures at once. I assumed that Mattel would pack the items with care. I understand that most collectors don't care about damaged packaging because they are going to open it anyways....but some of us high end collectors want high end toys!

That's why I'm only going to order 1 Skeletor at a time. Maybe that will work?

Mattel has to be making less of these. He-Man and Beastman lasted forever compared to Skeletor and Stratos. I think it's BS. For those of us who can't afford them RIGHT when they come out, it's a huge disappointment.

I thought that I read somewhere that Mattel was planning on releasing these all again sometime down the road. They said that they would put something on the packaging like "version 2" or "second release" to distinguish the first ones from these new ones.

I don't know if this rumor will become true, but I guess time will tell.

I don't think Mattel is making less. I think He-Man & Beast-Man lasted longer because it took awhile for sellers on ebay to realize that they were in high demand. As soon as they hit ebay, right before Skeletor came out, their prices had doubled. Skeletor being very popular and ebay sellers cashing in, made him disappear fast. Stratos didn't stand a chance with high demand, ebay sellers and the exposure from the NYCC. Mer-Man will probably sell out the first day!

Well, I suppose you could always open it and keep it or sell it on ebay. I'm sure it would still fetch a decent price even loose.

EDIT: Or, of course return it to Matty and try to get another one, though I think you'll have better luck with ebay.

Or worse yet, just the parts to build one yourself, along with a note saying:

"Hey, look, we're doing the Build-A-Figure with He-man too!"

They really need to be something about this, especially for all the money we dish out for these figures. $10 for shipping for one of these figures should include some sort of guarantee that it's going to arrive in good shape.

The figures are wrapped in a very thin piece of foam paper, and are then mashed into a small packing box. Imagine 4 figures in this small box!

I think it's crap that they're asking 30 shipped per figure and most of them arrive damaged. Totally not fair or worth it in my opinion.

Currently, the only reason I don't get upset about receiving damaged figures is because I know I can sell them on ebay and make my money back.
