True Heroes F-22 Raptor Fighter Jet Gray Repaint

Military Toy News
3907487182_1a559ccbc6_o Singer high from HISS Tank found a gray repaint of the True Heroes F-22 Raptor at his local Toys 'R' Us in Singapore! Don't be fooled by it's size! Despite being at roughly 1/32 scale, this F-22 is actually compatible with other popular 3-3/4" military figure lines!

Unlike the 1st release which was in all black with red trim, this F-22 features a more realistic paint job of gray camouflage. Most fans wanted to see the True Heroes F-22 that way to begin with, and Motormax Toys has made their wish come true! It's likely that this toy will see release soon at Toy 'R' Us stores(True Heroes is an exclusive line to them) here in the USA soon. Click on the title bar to see more!

We heard before that it would be painted in VF-84 Jolly Rogers markings, but didn't know for sure if it would be the low viz, or high viz paint scheme, the latter being the most popular.

Well the paint scheme has been confirmed as the high viz paint scheme, specifically the one seen most notably in the movie Final Countdown! The Tomcat will arrive in October, click on the thumbnail to the left to get a hint of how it will look!

UPDATE: JSI is also willing to do custom paint jobs!

JSI 1/18 F-14A Tomcat Photo Update
Posted on 06-11-2009 at 07:16 PM by Shin Densetsu under Military Toy News.
Military Toy News
f-14p1 Merit International has posted an update with more images of the 1/18 scale F-14A Tomcat by JSI. Of all the announced releases regarding 1/18 scale military toys, the Tomcat is one of the most shocking, as it has been in demand for years, and it was announced at a time when huge 1/18 aircraft, let alone new 1/18 items in general, seemed unlikely to see release.

JSI is hitting hard right out of the gate, and their F-14A Tomcat should be ready prior to Christmas. A pilot figure is shown in the images, and it gives us a sense of just how big this plane actually is. It's unknown if the Tomcat will come with the pilot shown, as well as a RIO(Radar Intercept Officer).

This is also the first, clear look into the cockpit, giving a glimpse at the detailed cockpit displays such as the RIO(Radar Intercept Officer)'s radar display.

JSI 1/18 F-14A Tomcat Production Piece Revealed
Posted on 06-06-2009 at 03:24 PM by Shin Densetsu under Military Toy News.
Military Toy News
3601078703_ca3d577ccf_b Usmcchet9296 from SSHQ has posted images of the 1/18 scale F-14A Tomcat production piece on display today at the Weekend of Heroes event in Glendale, California. This is the first new item to be released by JSI. Here's what else he had to say about it
  • It was broken in transit so it doesn't look as good as it should
  • This is production piece not a prototype
  • Look for it before Christmas
  • No pilots are included but Merit is pushing for them to make some

Being that the piece on display features gun vents from the F-14B and F-14D Super Tomcat, could JSI also be planning to release those versions in the future? The first color scheme, or S1 version of this plane is going to be for VF-84 Jolly Rogers, arguably the most popular squadron paint scheme for this plane. Could the Tomcat be unveiled in that paint scheme, next month at San Diego Comic Con?

JSI 1/18 F-15I & SU-27UBK REVEALED!
Posted on 05-13-2009 at 10:13 AM by Shin Densetsu under Military Toy News.
Military Toy News
1504 Thanks to HISS Tank.com and Toyark.com boards member Konigstiger for posting images from Militarytoyshop of the 1/18 scale F-15I Ra'am(Eagle) & J-11(SU-27UBK) by JSI! These ambitious projects prove that they are aiming all efforts straight at collectors, offering releases never before seen in this scale! Never thought possible, I should say as well!

Armed to the teeth, ready to invade your house and proudly take over your display cases(if they are even big enough!), these planes are planned to follow the 1/18 scale F-14A Tomcat into production, either later this year or early next. As we can see, work on these planes is much further along than anyone thought! Estimated msrp for both releases, and the F-14, is $200.

The F-15I is from 69 Squadron from the Israeli Defense Force(IDF). An F-15E Strike Eagle repaint is likely to follow this release.

The Shenyang J-11 is a license-built version of the SU-27 from the People's Liberation Army Air Force. More releases in Russian Air Force squadron schemes are likely to follow.
