Astro Plan DX Squadron Leader YF-10 Type Yi Fighter

Robot and Mecha Toy News
Astro-Plan-Type-Yi-16 A skin brick of ACToys has posted new images of presumably the squadron leader mecha DX YF-10 Type Yi fighter from the Astro Plan, a series with too many similarities with Macross Frontier and Gundam 00 to even be called coincidental! Oh and yes, that is the UN Spacy kite symbol you see molded on the plane.

Like the VF-25S Messiah from Macross Frontier, and the iconic VF-1S Roy Focker Special, this squadron leader mecha features a gray body with yellow and black trim. Plus a white symbol on the vertical stabilizers. And a gerwalk mode that probably won't be called gerwalk mode but definitely is a gerwalk mode.

Transformation is said to be very similar to the 1/55 VF-1 Valkyrie by Takatoku. Range of articulation is also similar. Also shown is a Type Yi from a smaller scale line, that looks like the VF-25G Mikhail Custom from Macross F.

No word on if these toys will make it stateside eventually, but if anything they do carry a cheap price tag. Click on the title bar to see new figures from the latest series to take more than just ideas from Macross!

033 Tamashii released their Tekkaman Blade with Pegas set from their Soul SPEC line a few months back, and while it was highly anticipated, it was met with criticism, primarily due to the size of Blade. Not too long ago, Tamashii showed a silhouette of Blade, for another line. Not just any other line, but a bigger one!

Tamashii recently revealed their Armor Plus Tekkaman Blade figure at the TAMASHII NATIONS AUTUMN 2009 event! This 8" figure features removable armor, diecast parts, a high range of articulation and anime-accurate gimmicks. Click on the title bar to see more!
