Planning to go but is there a certain age you have to be to get in. What is the minimum age? Also, do you have to pay to get in?

Since the event is this Sunday, I felt like it was appropriate to make this thread. I've converted Toyark into a mobile app but it's very clunky. Really, it's basically opening the website on your phone. If the people who are going want to communicate we can either go with that or we can make a group on some kind of messenger app. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Kik.
I'll be going to the con and I'll wear this around my neck so that you can identify me. Keep in mind that I'm not going to be average-sized. I'm going to be small, I guess you can say.

If we're going the Kik route I've made a quick guide. I'm not including downloading the app for obvious reasons.
1. Click the magnifying glass at the bottom right corner. 2. Search for #NJCCAttendees on the search menu. You must put the # 3. Join the group and you're in. Also, for those of you who already know your way around Kik you can just scan the Kik code: Sorry for it being really messy on the first picture. I had to do that to hide the contact info of my friends.

I'll be there. Will have a dealer table in the main hallways (I believe). I'll likely be wearing a Toyark t-shirt.
Also, keep your eyes open for Destro (show runner) and Tony Bacala, who will also have a table.

Also, moved this to the correct area and merged with the ongoing show thread.

One of my friends wants to go to the con but is kind of discouraged now because he thinks that it'll be a thing that only collectors can enjoy. I'm pretty sure it'll have most of the things that make a good con except not much cosplay, extrememly famous actors, etc. But I don't wanna promise him any of that. Can anyone who has been to a past NJCC event or a collectors con in general tell me how much of the average comic con spirit it retains? What major areas does it lack in in terms of a comic con.

In general, 90%+ of the vendors deal in toys; I saw someone at the last one have some video game stuff. No one deals in comics that I've seen. Hope this helps, any other questions, ask away. |

Well, I'm not going to lie, it's very, very toy centric. If he has no interest in toys I'm not sure how much fun he'd have. I've been to a few and have seen only a handful of cosplayers. There's no actors or anyone related to TV/film. There's usually 1 or 2 comic artists who have usually done Transformers stuff from my show experience.

Anyways, I'm the kid who won the 12" Snake Eyes. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but I'm sure you all know it's not something that I can appreciate due to my age. I opened up a B/S/T thread because I'm considering selling.
