We have had numerous Wolverine figures and I haven't been all that impressed with any of them. I just got the Silver Samurai pack from TRU.com and couldn't tell you how disappointed I am in the Wolverine head sculpt. I thought I had seen better images than what I actually got. The only unmasked version I like is the one from the Showdown series with the bone claws. I know we need other figures before we need another Wolverine, but how difficult is it to sculpt a decent looking Wolverine?

Theres a masked one? I thought the only Astonishing X Men Costume Wolverine was the one what came with Colossus in the two pack.

What's wrong with the Marvel Universe Jim Lee Wolverine? That's my favorite face sculpt, I personally think its really good.

This one: http://images.comiccollectorlive.com...9e6bd3190c.jpg Really though, they could not have given him a head swap or something additional? it always bugs be that they can make a giant fig like Juggernaut or Apocy at no higher price point but smaller figs get no accessories or anythng. |

I disagree, I think the TRU giant size x men wolverine has a fantastic masked headsculpt for wolverine. here is a pic of it on the SS 2 pack body.
Perfect smug little SNIKT look on his face. |

That's exactly the one I'm talking about mastersock. One of my personal favorites and imo, best unmasked wolverine head sculpt by far.

yep, he's awesome.. I dig the figure, picked him up about a month ago, great toy, and about 4 months ago I snagged 3 of the wolverine vs black ninja 2 packs, only bought them for the ninjas and to have 1 wolverine, I used 1 of the others heads to put on this figure and it looks sick 2, just needs a dap of brigher yellow to match the overall paint scheme, simple custom. and then pop it off and have the unmasked version.. I just wish some how hasbro made something like revoltech 2headsculpts, 4-6 hands, accessories and a kick ass stand. I know they made the Iron man but it's 6'' scale I want 3 3/4 wolverine with removable mask, regular face, 1 face ith a cigar , 1 masked face angry as hell, hands with blades out and seperated! then a set retracked, a motorcycle and a leather jacket and it'd be pure win haha. but face it, in order for us to get the best wolverine it may be to kit bash and make it ourselves. good thread

Wolvie must be your favorite character. His face sculpt has been no worse than most other figs. That being said, better face/headsculpts could be had all around. I think they're getting there though. The line is improving by a lot as time has passed.
I will have to disagree with you, sir. He could have a better face, but I guess I prefer Logan not being cute. Mine has good paint, and the body is perfect imo. Of all the dozens of Wolvie figs that we've had in the past 20yrs, has there ever been an "Adventurer Wolverine"?

My all time favorite "Logan" head sculpt is the SHS Logan so I can agree with Reaver. But how many mask-less heads do you need? You can also buy a few more of these and pop them on the MU sculpts.
As for Wolverine heads, I think there are a ton of good sculpts. I like the comic pack heads, I really dig the mini-two pack Target exclusive (my favorite so far) and I even dig the SHS Wolverine head (not my fave but definitely cool looking). The XMO line was a little small (head sculpt) but the yellow/blue head is pretty cool none-the-less. Last edited by boombatty; 05-19-2011 at 07:46 AM.. |
