Lots of dealers this time. More toys at this show than I have seen in years. Unfortunately, the crowd attending hasn't grown much. Wish you could have made it.
Click on this link and start with post #2660. North Carolina G.I. Joe Sightings - Page 266 - HissTank.com - G.I. Joe Images from the show.

I just found the new Transformers Generations Deluxe Sky Shadow at the Walmart in Cary today at lunch. (It looks like it's basically a repaint of Thunderwing with some retooling). They only had one and they did not have Junkheap (which looks like it's basically a repaint of Wreck-Gar).

Just found a ton of vintage-style Star Wars at the Walmart in Apex. They had at least four each of the TIE Fighter Pilot and Slave Leia, a wide selection of repacks on Revenge cards including Han in Trenchcoat, Boba Fett, etc., plus a bunch of the Expanded Universe ARC Trooper. All the cards were nice and mint, and many were "semi-punched."
I also saw the Green Lantern Super-charged Voz and Kilowog at the Super Target at Triangle Town Center this weekend. Those are all on sale for $5 something and the basic single-packed figures are $3.99. |

Found another ton of vintage Star Wars at the Walmart at Triangle Town Center tonight. The interesting thing though was that all the Return cards I found at the Walmart in Apex were Revenge cards in Raleigh, and vice versa. So far the only one I haven't found both of yet is the Rebel Commando. I've only found that one on the Revenge card. But the Walmart at Triangle Town Center had 4 to 6 of everything I think. Very healthy supply. Plus they had the super Clone Wars gift sets which looked pretty decent.

Just found the Transformers Generations Scrapheap at the Target in Cary. That's the only one I've seen amidst a fair number of Sky Shadows.

Just saw five Crimson HISS Tanks at the TRU in Cary. Has anyone seen any Zombie Vipers locally?

Can you guys help me out with something? I'd like to try to find a LEGO Black Pearl set from Pirates of the Caribbean locally this week if possible. Has anyone seen one on the shelves lately?

Found the Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne's Revenge playset at the little Target in Raleigh for $24.98 last night so I finally picked one up. They had the 3 3/4-inch single packs for $3.98 and the 7-inch figures for $7-something.

I noticed something kind of random today at the Target in Cary. In the Pirates of the Caribbean line there's apparently a single-packed Phillip that I haven't seen anywhere else and a battle-pack Phillip (with a "glass" prison box for Jack Sparrow). They look like they're part of a new wave, but the packaging is just as worn as the older stuff and they're marked down on clearance along with the rest of the stuff as well. And there's no sign of any other newer figures. I may have to get all the battle packs now though to go with my new Queen Anne's Revenge

I've been seeing the vintage-style Phantom Menace figures popping up around Raleigh and Cary this week. I found Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon at the Super Target at Triangle Town Center and I saw Palpatine and a Battle Droid at the Target in Cary. (I left the two behind in Cary because the cards and bubbles were damaged.)

This is not necessarily a "local" sighting but I just got an e-mail that my pre-order with Big Bad Toy Store for the Dreaknok and Slaughter's Marauders G.I. Joe 7-packs was filled today.

The vintage style Tauntaun, Land Speeder and Tauntaun battle pack are 12.48 at the Target at North Hills. Also, the little Target on Capital had the vintage style Snow Speeder and TIE Fighter back out on the shelf.

Found more vintage-style Phantom Menace figures at the Super Target behind Triangle Town Center last night. They had almost the entire wave (they did not have Darth Maul or Palpatine). Not much else out right now it doesn't look like.

Capital Blvd's Target, beside of Sam's Club, will close by the end of this month. No sightings this week, everything is still wiped-out from Christmas.

No, it's a small one day show put on by Shelton who runs HeroesCon. Mostly comics with some toys mixed in.

Saw a bunch of new Star Wars stuff at the Walmart in Cary today (in the new Darth Maul packaging). It looked like they had all the new Clone Wars single-pack figures, the new battle packs (Rebel Heroes with Han, Chewbacca and C-3PO; Republic Clone Troopers; and Arena Battle with Jango Fett, Obi-Wan and Battle Droid), and the new small-scale vehicles (Naboo Royal Cruiser with Obi-Wan; Sith Speeder with Darth Maul; BARC Speeder with Clone Trooper; and STAP with Battle Droid). I say "new"...of course for the most part a lot of it's just in new packaging with the exception of the animated line.
They also had new Thundercats figures as well. It looked like the new 7-inch scale ones (like Cheetara from the new animation) plus some new classic series figures. Last edited by mj3141x; 01-25-2012 at 02:12 PM.. |

I need three of those Cheetaras.
Once again, Hasbro disappoints with crappy ass repacks and poor case assortments. Don't get me wrong, Vintage wave 1 2012 is good but take a good look at the Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. Minus their cloaks, the same figures are in the new movie heroes (aka saga legends) line. I'm almost certain the same mold for those figures were used in the Wal-Mart exclusive Ep. 1 4 pack from this past Christmas.

Found the new Walmart exclusive Dewback and Vulture Droid in the Darth Maul packaging at the same Walmart in Cary today. (They're in the process of re-setting a big chunk of their toy department right now so it's hard to get a handle on what they have but maybe that means more new stuff in the next few days.) The Dewback and Vulture Droid are $29.97 each.
I couldn't find the Thundercats stuff again (it's probably at the bottom of a cart right now waiting to be moved to a new aisle). |

Found some different Star Wars stuff at the Walmart at Brier Creek last night. They had the single-packed movie series figures in the Darth Maul packaging (I had only seen the Clone Wars stuff at the other Walmart) and they also had the new role-play Rebel Trooper blaster from Ep IV and Captain Rex's blaster from the Clone Wars. The movie series figures included Darth Vader (Ep V), R2-D2 (Ep I), Obi-wan (Ep I), Qui-Gonn (Ep I), Battle Droid (Ep II) and maybe a couple more.
The Target at Brier Creek had the Sith Infiltrator, Droid Battle Tank, and the Podracers. Last edited by mj3141x; 01-31-2012 at 08:37 AM.. |

I can't believe Hasbro is repacking that horrific lightsaber flinging Darth Vader. The figure was terrible then and it is even worse now.
All the vehicles are repacks without figures now. Not sure why we are getting a Dewback again considering how slowly those sold before with a figure.
