Seriously, if you put a sig up and it's not 40KB or less, I will remove it. It can't be 60KB, it can't be 43KB, it can't be 40.25KB. It has to be 40KB or less. And If I have to keep removing sigs, that person will get a warning. So if someone is creating a sig for you, you better be sure it falls within the guidelines prior top adding it, that is YOUR responsibility. Otherwise, you are going to be the one getting the warning.

^ Thanks, Joe. Hopefully this will clear up any confusion regarding sigs and the board rules.
Nope. Still over 40KB (41.04 to be exact). But it seems Iceman was able to fix it himself, since the image in his actual sig is under the limit. Nope, still over. Currently at 41.57 KB. Yep, you're good.

Some tips:
PNG files and Photobucket are a bad combination. Photobucket will always add KB to an image for some reason. Frank's original file on Photobucket is nearly 41K: But, if I take the same file and save it as a GIF, it's only 32K. The only real difference is the red in "MARVEL" isn't as vibrant. If you quote the above gif, you can simply use that Frank. It's hosted on IMGUR.com.

EDIT: Here's yours resaved to fit within the guidelines. Simply quote this post and copy the image code and insert into your sig.

Frank, I noticed the one you just loaded has some dithering effects around the bullets. If you use the gif I loaded, it doesn't have that. Either is fine though, as the one you have now fits within the limits.

Is there somewhere that explains how the limits were determined? I'd like to understand the limitations and how they were set. Was it an arbitrary estimation?

The limits were set by the owner and creator of the site. 40kb has been and will continue to be our standard across pretty much all of our network sites. The dimensions were set based on the forum layout we use and how much of the screen we determined should be taken up by sigs.

Agreed, it's a shame so many people can't or won't follow the rules they agreed to when they signed up. Especially something as simple as sig sizes.

Yea, I just used Free Online Picture Resizer - Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for FREE! and it you see EXACTLY how big [or small] the file is. I just checked my last one and lord behold, it was 169kb.
Stickin' to the simple crop from now on, avoid all the trouble [plus Scarlets a babe..]

Also, if anyone else needs their sig resized, drop a note here. I can get to them later tonight or the morning.
