No not in the Spiderman line, but in Marvel Universe line. Judging by stand out figures like Bleeding Edge Iron Man this year, and the warmly received SDCC Spiderman, we KNOW you can do it.
Honestly I think this is inevitable, but I figure the louder we make our voices, the sooner it will come. Let's face it, wave 1 Spiderman's mold is now outdated. Most of the figures from waves 1-2 are now outdated. Hulk? World War Hulk destroys him. Iron Man? Bleeding Edge prevails. Captain America? The 2011 comic series version has him beat. I could go on.

I picked up the Spiderman and Sentry 2pack today and I'm less than satisfied with the Spidey. It's the same old black suit Spidey mold with painted on webs.

If they can make Bleeding Edge Iron Man get into SPidey poses, I bet Hasbro could make a SPidey that can do Spidey poses.

No I agree with Shin. There have been 3 basic constructs for Spiderman in MU, Wave 1 small body (which I have to admit, I like the most...but thats not saying much), Black Spiderman (just horrible in my opinion), and SDCC Spiderman (I enjoy it, but I don't like ball joints ) We are so overdue for Spiderman to be revamped, and if any of us are forced to buy another crappy Spiderman, it'll be time for the Proletariat to rise up!!!! On that note, what would the ideal spiderman have? I think...IMBE ankles, thigh swivels annndd a double jointed neck to look up while wall crawling |

I agree with all of you on this one. I think it's about time that Hasbro shows us what they're made of. We have seen a lot of great original sculpts, such as, WW Hulk, BE Iron Man, Extremes, the movie Spiderman, and like one of you pointed out, the Captain America line. All of these figures testify to the fact that even in this scale, one should have expectation of quality in sculpt, paint, detail, and articulation. How Hasbro could bring this Spiderman to life. Taking the movie figure sculpt, loosing the raised webbing, and giving the waste swivel and legs a lot more range of movement. If you don't own the Hasbro movie version of Spiderman, you may not know that his hands are not only able to turn 360 degrees, but also has a wrist hinge joint so wrist movement is all over the place. another change should be to switch out the feet to a style like the Bleeding Edge or WWII Captain America that have a swivel joint that lets the foot pivot left and right. At this point you have a lot of articulation but I wouldn't stop there. I would also give this Spiderman a second waste joint like you see in ML and SHS. Also accessories can be very important depending on the character. It should always reflect the powers or abilities of the character but also interact with the figure. In the movie Spidermans case, his web line is perfect. it hooks onto his fingers and mimics his web shooting ability more than any other spiderman figure ever. Include all the features I've listed above and you have the perfect base. Go crazy and repaint it all you like. I would by any version so long as it had these features going on. |

Peter needs SO man improvements on his articulation its not even close to funny.
Hips- Replaced (debatable which of the current Hasbro hips would work best for Spidey- not a fan of the ball joint in the Spidey line myself). Has to keep a double knee joint for added pose-ability. Wrists- Needs articulated wrists to add to his various trademark web shooting (use the same type of wrist as some of the SW Clone Troopers get - with a double wrist shooting hand option) along with a swivel wrist/mid lower arm articulation as well. Neck- needs new ball neck so he can look up and such... So... YES we HAVE to get a new Spider-Man figure... AND SOON! |
