i'm surprised they chose this one.. i mean.. first off, it's probably the dumbest looking jaeger in the movie.. and the US, historically, haven't always liked russians very much.
just seems strange that striker wouldn't have been the second quarter scale jaeger.. it's, by far, the best looking in the movie. |

Taste is subjective. I actually quite like the design of the Cherno Alpha, to the point where I'm seriously considering preordering. YMMV.

Cherno's certainly my favourite Jaeger design, 2nd being Crimson Typhoon. I wanna assume they're fan favourites due to how unconventional the designs are. Gispy & Striker are cool'n all but for me, they don't stand out as much as the others.

Magnificent.
That big Cherno Alpha makes me think of an awesome designer toy. It will make for a great art deco piece in one's collection.

Still got those birthing hips, and the clear exhausts could've been done better. The beam down the center of each should be painted, not just big clear circles.

I'd say my favorite Jaegers are Coyote Tango and Cherno Alpha easily, but my least favorite was Crimson Typhoon. It's not that I don't like Crimson Typhoon's design at all, but of the main 4 it's on the bottom for me and the fact that it died the fastest doesn't help its case for me. I like every Jaeger but someone has to be the lowest.

Yeah, Cherno is a lot of people's favourites because of how unconventional and un-Hollywood its design is.
