Glad I'm not going to have to drop $200+ per figure for the 1/6 scale versions. I'll still get the 1/6 scale MacReady, but I'll be more than happy with the 7" American Werewolf figures.

Oh man I hope those 7" figures get through to final production and aren't too pricey.

Regarding American Werewolf I'd love to have a 7" scale Kessler Wolf figure, hell I'd even take one of those nightmare Nazi demon things. Figures of the duo in their jackets don't really appeal to me, too civilian.

I've been pretty much done with horror figures for a long time. I will definitely get me a 7" Kessler Wolf and whatever Thing figures they do.

With NECA continuously improving and providing new looks I don't foresee my horror collection ending any time soon. For example last year's ultimate Leatherface blew all competition out of the water for best Leatherface figure but that's only his main look, they could still make (and I would definitely get) a new dinner jacket Leatherface and this is only from one movie.

Has PCS done any action figures before? I only know of their statues.

I think these will be their first non-statues.

Holy Hell, that Macready is 7"?! I somehow never realized they were doing more than the bigger figure. It will be mine.

As a company, no. But I believe they were the guys who worked for SOTA during the Street Fighter figure releases.

I think that you never realized it because they never revealed it until just now. They've been teasing and showing the 1/6 scale version since last February but this is the first news on a 7" figure.

If people would simply click the news link, they would see both the 1/6 scale and the 7" version are on display, as well as specific info on both versions.

Must buy. I am not sure I want to afford the 1/6 scale versions, but the 7" versions are mine to get. I am hoping for great quality and they do horror figures.
I think NECA does not really TRY horror figures any more. It is just Freddy and Jason with Leatherface and that is it sadly it. The Cult Classics is dead. So PCS might be the new standard for horror figure fans. |

Unfortunately for the most part if it's horror and isn't Freddy, Jason, or Leatherface it doesn't sell enough to normally justify the character. Michael Myers is apparently just off the table as no one is doing him anymore and supposedly his rights are a huge hassle to get. Beyond that some of the cenobites from Hellraiser are about it for marketable horror figures. If it weren't for the blanketing effect of a line like cult classics or McFarlane's old movie maniacs the majority of licenses like Phantasm, Saw, or House of 1000 Corpses would not have been made. There is desire among fans for figures among these various licenses of course but it usually isn't strong enough across the board, cult classics died because people didn't support it. Honestly I think PCS is taking a risk making these 7" figures and ultimately I hope it pays off for them but at the same time if these even get released it could prove a short-lived effort. I'm only skeptical about these even getting released because it is their first time trying to produce actual figures and they've failed to follow through on some previous items.

Don't forget NECA is also doing Evil Dead (Ultimate Ash) as well as Ash vs Evil Dead. Ultimate Chucky is definitely happening as well. Randy mentioned they tried to do Brundlefly from The Fly recently, but couldn't come to terms to get the license.

A 7" MacReady figure?!?!? Oh hell yes! This is a huge, welcome surprise.
I'm hoping that's a really early prototype, however, because I'm seeing next to no articulation. If it's on a level approaching NECA I'm totally on board (but skip the ab joint, pls, that will look terrible on Mac). |

Oh shit yeah Evil Dead. Due to the huge dose of comedy in the franchise I often forget to include it in my horror lists. I can't wait for the Ash vs Evil Dead Hero Ash figure (I'll probably get two) and an ultimate style Ash would be a likely pick up depending on which film it's based on. I would love if the packaging for an ultimate Ash was just the Necronomicon from the respective film they choose but I'd really dig a first film Ash since there aren't any figures out there of that version.
