Hello all. I’m a sports card enthusiast and belong to many forums so when I had a question in regards to toys I naturally sought out message forums and found this great community. I recently purchased some Peppa Pig toys for my daughter from a woman I met locally and as I was going through the toys I noticed a lot of them had sample tags and notes from the factory on the tags. (All plush toys) For the time being I let her play with them but Inwas wondering if there’s a market for these? I know Peppa Pig is probably not collectible at the moment but I wanted to know if the sample tags may have added a premium?
I won’t be disappointed if not because my daughter enjoys them. Thanks in advance for your replies. |

no, a sample tag would not add value, thats a myth. dont know why people think that. same thing goes for errors on packaging

Thanks for the reply. Most prototypes in different niches demand a premium, hence maybe where the assumption comes from. Same for errors. I appreciate your reply. Thanks! When I saw version numbers, factory notes and the word sample I thought I’d ask. |

I don’t know if you’re old enough to know but when Beanie Babies were a thing the Tags on the dolls made those things a lot more sought after and expensive then ones without it. I don’t know why but it did haha. So it’s basically it’s different from line to line Last edited by Tim; 10-22-2018 at 10:04 AM.. |

Nobody should ever listen to Tomax. How embarassing for this site that he is the first to reply to a new poster, honestly.

Samples can be worth more, especially if the sample varies from the final production product. Some samples can be very desirable to collectors, as they are sometimes one of a kind. If I were you I’d check the lines out see if what you have was ever in the line, or if it differs from the final produce. There are a lot of different samples for every product ever made. From hand made hard copies, to test models, to salesman samples, production samples, quality control samples, and product photography samples. I’d probably ask the woman where she got them, or even contact people at the company to confirm exactly what they are. After that, I don’t know what kind of market there is for peppa right now... but I do have a 6 year old daughter who’s grown up with peppa, so one day that’s going to be our kids nostalgia. Maybe hold on them for her.
