Normally I like variant figures of existing characters, since they provide you with some diversity. However, this design may be so far away from the source material that the character is no longer recognizable.
The ironic part is this: The figure will cost extra money since it is officially catwoman and square enix has to pay licensing fees. Essentially they created some random cyborg chic with a gun - If they did not name the figure Catwoman it would have been less expensive to produce. I think no sane mind in this world would have been able to sue them for stealing the Catwoman design with this figure! |

The DC Variants, especially the Tetsuya Nomura designed ones, are basically meant to resemble the characters in just a basic sense. Nomura is essentially designing Final Fantasy version of the characters (see his Batman as a great example). These definitely aren't for everyone, but I think that's the aim.

But I don't see Catwoman. I see a character from Bubblegum Crisis.

Probably going to be in the $100-150 range. Too expensive for my taste, even though I like the design. Definitely better than Nomura's Batman.
