I'd guess the best Batman figure to get for the movie Joker would be the best one based on the film. I know there are a few released. It also really depends on the look you are going for. I plan to get the 70's Batman variant coming out soon to pair with the new videogame based Joker coming out at the same time. It's hard to keep up with these since the prices have been steadily rising. I'm not sure if I'm going to be getting more of the Street Fighter ones or get out of that line and strictly collect Batman related ones. I'm also already running out of space for my 6inch scale stuff.

For me all of my figures are perfect except the variant batman. One had no paint at all on the belt and second, his hand was loose and his sword broke as well as the base. Nothing superglue didnt fix

I am going to buy the Supergirl. She will be my first Kai figure. She looks like the best figure rendition of Supergirl made yet. I am thinking about getting the wonder woman. She also looks great.

I had a positive experience with Square Enix support so I figured I'd share. Hopefully this can help those who have been having difficulty getting in contact with them.
I recently picked up the Man of Steel Superman at my local collectible shop. Figure was perfectly fine but the stand broke while I was adjusting it. I went to the Square Enix support site listed on the box (SQUARE ENIX Support Center). I clicked the "Merchandise" option on the left side and then clicked "Merchandise" on the new menu that showed up in the middle of the screen. Clicked the "Contact" button followed by "Get Support". I then provided all the necessary info until I was able to send an email through the site. After a couple emails back and forth (including pics of the damage), I was told that a replacement was being sent my way along with a FedEx tracking number. A few days later and I have a brand new stand! |

I received Robocop from my friend at Square-Enix!
He's gorgeous detail-wise, but some small problems, inherents to the original design, are present. But let's have a look! Murphy comes with several hands, including the throat-slashing usb connect device! Woops... Overall sculpt is great, and the face is very accurate. Too bad they didn't include a face without mask. Maybe they couldn't clear the rights of the actor? I'm sure someone could manage to do one with Hitman's heat, though. Size-wise, Robocop is on the smaller scale of the PAKs. He's on par with Hitman, Tomb Raider, or FF characters, but is smaller than DC heroes or Medal Of Honor guy. Be aware of that if you intend to do some displays. "Dead or alive, you're coming with me" The motion range of the shoulders is not that great, but enough for the classic poses. The weakest point of the figure is the motion range of the lower part of the legs...

Legs are ok, but since it's Robocop we don't need to do some hi-kicks though If you have a chair on scale, you can seat him normally, wich is great. One of the best details, wich is also the biggest flaw, is the movie-accurate ankle articulation. The pipes are sliding in one another wich is great... but it means that you can't move the feet laterally, meaning no dynamic poses with slightly spreaded legs. Also be careful while moving the ankles as the smaller part entering the pipe is very fragile. I almost broke mine You can detach the front part of the right tigh and putting optional parts to re-create the gunrack gimmick The gunrack assembled "Dad, can you do that?" Overall, I'd say it's a very nice display piece with great details, but don't hope for as much posing possibilities as you have with the other PAKs.

I'm sorry to hear, about all the bad luck with these figs :/ The detail is so sweet and I was considering picking some up. Now, I think I'll definitely pass… I like to play with my figures and these, despite their amazing looks, don't seem like they could handle play at all. I think I'll be steering clear of these. Thanks for all the honest feedback of these figs. I'm sorry to hear about all the horror stories though My old Kingdom Hearts Play Arts figures broke too… I just don't think the quality is there and they need to shut their stuff down if they cat keep the QC up.

Anybody knows if are they going to make any more Street Fighter figures, or just more repaintings of the old figures?

I got Wonder Woman today. Snapped her left shoulder off almost immediately. The plastic they used for the pin/peg in the shoulder is about the same as a piece of candy corn.
But it's okay. I'm going to take the entire figure apart & recast it for customs. In my case I'm glad these are crap & break apart so easily. I traded a bunch of old GI Joe figures that I didn't want anymore so I pretty much got WW for free. The double ball neck joint is all you need for every joint. I'm going to recast this figure & every joint will be a double ball with hot glue. You don't really need ratchet joints to get a good pose. I'm basically making fully poseable garage kits. That way I can make a ton of different characters & not be limited to only what Square Enix gives me. |

Hey guys, I created this account just to bring this to your attention, about a week ago I purchased a variant Batgirl, after opening it and playing with it for about 20 minutes the hair ball joint broke off -_- I contacted square enix support as soon as I could, I sent them a picture of the broken piece and receipt and after that this is what they said:
Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre. We confirm we have received your pictures. The case has been escalated to our head office. We will contact you as soon as we have an update. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Looked pretty ordinary, btw since she broke after I handled her I intended to purchase the part rather than demand a free replacement part. Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre. We are contacting you regarding your broken figurine. Unfortunately we advise you to contact the retailer from where you bought the item as we would only be able to assist you further if the figurine was purchased from our official store. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. And this is were I got a little pissed (at myself mostly), I bought her from an independent guy, therefore no warranty, and he doesn't carry extra stock; so I sent another email to square enix stating that I wanted to purchase the part, I didn't want anything for free and that it was quite outrageous how they did not offer any replacement parts if not purchased from their official store, their reply: Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre. We are sorry to hear that you have experienced this technical difficulty. Please be aware that we have consulted with our head office to see if providing replacement parts will be possible, and we have been advised that we are unable to do so. Unfortunately we can only advise returning to the retailer, who will be able to contact the vendor that the item came from. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Well, I geuss thats that. What have I learned?, Play Arts customer service, while responsive has been unhelpful, if I take these figures out of the box again (of which I have multiple, 6 in total) ill most likely pose them and never touch them again, and if I ever buy a Play Arts figure again, ill buy it from a retailer that can do what Square Enix won't, replace a broken figure. Unfortunately this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, ignorant old me used to think that they made some of the best figures in their price range, unfortunately due to the QC issues and the lack of replacement parts and support from Square enix, it will be a long time before I purchase another Play Arts figure. |

Wow, I'm glad that I found this thread !!! I had no idea that these figures had such horrible QC issues!
Since the Tekken franchise typically doesn't churn out the daunting amount of merch that other fighting game franchises typically do (ahem... Street Fighter), I was pretty excited about the Tekken Play Arts Kai figures, and had been putting some money aside to pick up a couple. Now I'm definitely passing on those Well, thanks to all of you guys for posting your disappointing experiences with this line. Nothing kills my enthusiasm for a figure line like bad QC, so it looks like I'll be putting my money towards something else. |

I have just below 40 PAKs and I must say I have been very, very lucky so far. I've only had three major issues since I started buying them all the way from FFXIII (and prior to Kai, about 14 Play Arts figures).
Metal Gear Snake's right elbow joint popped off right out of the box and would not go back in and his elbow pad clip snapped when the arm dropped. Finally fixed it just last week just a small drill bit, super glue and 2mm earth magnets (those things are awesome!). As good as new. Metal Gear Solidus, the sword was nearly snapped off fully from the hilt in the box (I would call this a shipping/packing fault), nothing super glue can't fix. Biggest one would be FFXIII Lightning Returns. The butterfly joint on the shoulder snapped the first time I tried to pose it. Had to glue it in unfortunately. Otherwise, aside from some crappy paint apps, I've not had a major issue (I usually only just pose them and leave them). |

Hi there,
I am new to this site and have decided to start collecting the Play Arts Kai Batman figures. I love the detail to them and I am a huge Batman fan. I have a couple questions for the seasoned collectors. These figures have amazing detail and look totally bad ass. I used to collect Star Wars stuff back in the day and always kept them in the box. But, those were just your usual "standard" figures. With the detail that these have do you prefer to keep them in the box or put them on display. If you put them on display, this brings me to my second question. How do you display them? I have been looking into doll stands and if you use those, which ones do you use and why? Are they good quality? Also, if you do put them on display, do you keep them in a case or do you get a display case that some people get with dolls for displaying purposes. Any advice would be helpful because I am dying to open up my Deathstroke and put him on display. The next purchase I will be making would be the Origins Batman, Robin and then the Joker. Much thanks in advance. |

Welcome to the Playarts community!
For the boxes themselves, I'm positive that Play Arts are definitely the display types. You can't much say about the details when they're still boxed... As for the display and the stands, a stand is already included with every fig, so you don't need to worry, you have a stand with two pinches so your fig will stand in almost every common pose you could think of.

Thanks for the heads up. I really wanted to display this since it looks completely bad ass. But, I was not sure as to the best way to go about displaying it.
I am also thinking about getting a dome of some sort to put it in just to keep it as free from dust as I can since I am lazy and hate dusting. Thanks for the welcome and, once I get a decent collection going and a nice way to display them all, I will post some pics. |

I was ambivalent in regards to Green Lantern ever since i first saw him. Something about the way he "was" in the promotional pictures that didn't bode well with me... seeing 'real' pictures from a collector, I'm more than certain that he will be a pass. Wonder Woman however is a must for me; though not having her sword does put her down a notch.
And if somewhere down the road Batman decides to descend from the hefty price, I'll be getting him as well. Nice pictures though! |
