The re-imagined Boba Fett maintains just enough of the classic design, while also featuring what we've come to expect form Japanese anime/manga regarding body armor (seamless function & form). Fett represents some real eye-candy! Wow!

Fett and the Stormtrooper look neat but Vader looks too much like Batman. I like the wavy looking blade though.

Thank god Japan didn't make Star Wars first.

Whoa!! BEST-BOBA-FETT-EVER!! Just amazing!!
Not too sure about the Stormtrooper, it looks too different from the original, almost like it's another character. But it looks great nonetheless.... |

The helmet being so small immediately makes the Stormtrooper look off.

I love these designs. The style just clicks with me.
But not enough to make me forget that I'm over Star Wars. If I was still the Boba Fett fan boy I once was, I'd so be all over this...Now, I'm ok with just looking at pics. |

BLASPHEMY! Clone troopers suck, Stormtroopers rule. There's nothing silly about dragging an old couple out of their home and lighting them on fire, or committing genocide against defenseless Jawas. All the clone troopers did was knock over a bunch of toasters and watched Anakin kill children.

I know it's narcissistic to laugh at one's own jokes, but I had a ball writing out that those troopers dragged Owen and Beru out to their patio and burned them alive. That's some dark shit right there.

The helmet being so small immediately makes the Stormtrooper look off. stormtroopers were in really good movies, clone troopers were in an awesome tv show. i'm not very into star wars forums and such, is there a divide between stormtrooper and clone trooper fans? i absolutely love the look of this thing.. so much so that i might actually get it. |

they're okay. i'm finding the HALOization of those classic ralph mcquarrie designs to be a bit gaudy and overdone but then again I'm not much of a modern video game player. i do think the blurred lightsaber looks cool as hell though..

It's Halo 4-ization, Halo 1 through 3 had a lot less of the Japanese influence. I remember the Unleashed Star Wars Jedi Luke had the lightsaber blur-fwoosh effect, but the Revoltech Vader's one is a lot more played down for the better.

I like my classic characters to be classic. I am not in the slightest a fan of the look of these, much too stylized for my tastes. I am glad they exist though, as there are plenty of options in every price range for the classic looks. I suppose these will fit in nicely in various collections around the globe.

I wouldn't feel threatened by these figures even if I was an enthusiastic fan of Star Wars (which I'm not - more of a Trekkie). Many of the people remarking about the featured designs being cool have no intention of buying these figs, myself included. Were I a Star Wars traditionalist, I might be more concerned about the influence of the upcoming movies than any potential debasement brought about by the success of these figures. Even then, I would eventually acquiesce to the fact that film interpretations and sensibilities are bound to change with time.
Hell, I'm still getting used to Black Widow using guns rather than her Widow's Bite (a feature that is only now making its debut in this upcoming Avengers movie). Guns vs super-villains is a laughable scenario to me and my sensibilities - any super-hero, or villain for that matter, that fears or needs guns doesn't rate in my book. I bring this up only to illustrate how a traditionalist stance on superheroes doesn't quite line up with the change occurring in today's target audience (vigilantes have been all the rage for some time now, and near-powerless heroes have also seen a huge boost in popularity). After some two-score years of fandom of comics/sci-fi/fantasy/animation/horror I've come to the realization that it's easier (and more enjoyable) to celebrate the interests I have in common with younger/newer fans than be that curmudgeonly dude in the corner folding his arms and muttering to himself about how shit just ain't the same anymore... |
