This thing is literally the reason I watched the show. I saw pics of it, and needed a reason to spend my money on it.
Don't regret the decision, either.

I would want this if the arms were better. And if the head turned.

I have this set... it does have limited posability as stated in the arms and head but it looks great in person and I feel lucky that we got an actual combining toy for the new show

I like it, but wake me when we can buy figures of the Paladins/Pilots.

The combined mode is cool but less articulated and accurate , in addition the lions don't come with actual mini figures of the pilots, therefore I am going to buy only the red and the green lion which are my favorites (inclulding their pilots) and the ultimate version.

I'm still not crazy for the redesign, but I'm getting used to it...
They changed Voltron's gleaming bayard into an energy machete?! "Bumbaclot Robeasts get boxed and chopped, seen?" AhahahA! |

It's indeed a graet show, but you didn't need to watch in order to buy the toys. Often, I buy toys which I am not know a lot or aware to their origins and sometimes it's actually more fun since you can be more imaginative with them.

Yeah, sure, it's not as articulated as the ultimate one, but the gimmick of combining the lions is cool enough for me to justify it.

Looks pretty great. I just wish the tails went away entirely. It's the deal breaker for me.

Great shots, man! Thanks for this review...I was contemplating whether or not to get one of the more detailed old school sets or this newer version and opted for the latter. A bit saddened to hear about the lack of articulation, but I'm still looking forward to adding a new Voltron to my collection. Your pics just added fuel to that fire!

Really digging the pictures and read the great review. He does look awesome but like was pointed out by you and another friend of mine, the balance issues are kind of a turn off for me. Also heard the arms are a huge pain trying to seperate them from Black Lion. But the lions seperate look fantastic. I just wish they might have forgone the electronics to make him either cheaper or include a few more accessories like the shield.
I picked up Black Lion but had to return him. However, I am not completely opposed to buying it again and the rest of the lions someday. |

I yanked on the arms pretty hard and they didn't budge. Is there some kind of hidden release switch or something? Also the electronics don't work on mine. The switch for the yellow lion does nothing. When I combine Voltron, the only phrase it will say is "waiting for the yellow lion."

Two things:
The blue and yellow lions' necks extend, but are collapsed by default straight out of the package. In lion mode, they're supposed to be extended and collapsed for leg mode. If you ever have them in lion mode again, just give them a pull and they'll telescope out. To dislodge the arms, you basically just need to leverage them out. There are a few good videos on You Tube about it if you give it a search. Once you know how, they apparently come out fairly easily, although I haven't tried it myself yet. |

I have kind of a policy about stuff like that. Don't know much about a character in a line full of characters that I already like otherwise? Yeah, sure, I'll buy it if it looks good enough for the price, but I don't like to go into a line completely blind as to the specifics of a franchise. Otherwise, I have no possible stopping point, which would just be wasteful.

I didn't mean to say ths set is bad or less good in general, it was just my personal take on. This is indeed a very cool set, it's just that I prefer the ultimate one.

I'm not big enough into Voltron to get the combiners or the 14" figure, but I was disappointed to see that the two smaller scale basic Voltron figures both had really intrusive action features. I think you could fairly easily swap a few parts to make one figure with decent articulation, but I’m not certain it would be worth the $20 to do so.

These things are definitely worth the price they are and I was surprising how big they are too. I have the set and quite enjoy them without having to drop a couple hundred on another brand of them.

I hesitated on these. The initial promo images make the torso and shoulders look bad. But I finally went for it and it looks so much better in person.

I wish they would just give us toys of the actual characters. I'm tired of just the mecha.

P.S. there isn't any toys yet of princess Allura and Coran:/. I would love to have action doll of her as well with her beautiful hair and gown*-*, but Playmates probably wouldn't make it. Source:
