I WOULD have jumped on this if Playmates didn't half ass it with Splinter and Shredder. Why did they mix the Nick line Comic Turtles with the vintage line like that? I get cost cutting...but seriously...

It would have been cooler if they did the vintage turtles in comic form also. They should not have mixed vintage with 2012 stuff

Agreed. Given that Eastman/Laird were involved in the design of the original Playmates toys, and given how those vintage figures already skewed close to the Mirage look as a result, it would have made sense to just recolor the vintage TMNT figs. I would have totally gone for that. These don't look quite right.

I really like that Shred and Splinter "Variant" colors. DEFFFFINTELY pre-ordered.
The turts looking interesting. The 2012ishness of the turts is a little too apparent. But I like that elbow and knee articulation BIG TIME. It makes me imagine what PLAYMATES TMNT 1988 "ORIGINS" would be like. I wish Shred and Splinter had the extra articulation too. But if they do that they might as well do what MOTU is doing with ORIGINS. I would love that!!!! I'd collect those more than these strict recreations of the original figures. |

I had those 4 turtles years ago when they released them and the figures were garbage. They didn't even at least have wrist swivels. I took them back to the store about 4 days later for a full refund.

Thankful for Playmates releasing stuff I don't want to buy. With NECA and Super 7, I feel like I'm maxing out on modern turtles at tis point.
