Recently in my area (Dayton Ohio), I've noticed a sharp decline in Marvel Universe products with several retailers. K-Mart, and one of my local Wal-marts No longer carries them, and my ToysRUs's seem to only have a couple Galactus's, the X-Men Boxed set, and left over Ironman/Daredevil/Surfer 3 packs. My other retailers are limited to only a couple spots for MU, nowhere near as dense as other properties. I've yet to even see Wave 2 2011 in my stores. My question is what is Hasbro doing to try to get MU on their shelves in much more abundance?

Hate to say this, but the decision is probably done not to screw us collectors.
If they just released exact repaints of older valueable figures- like Warpath or the Archangel send away- it would hose collectors that might have blown a wad of cash on them ($65 for Archangel minimum!). Also, in the new X-Force book, they are running around the Age of Apocalypse universe in those black and grey outfits, so consider it ahead of the curve...well, Wolverine and Deadpool do anyway I hope it doesn't, so fans can still get one of the new archangels either through the subscription (apocalypse spirit X-Force thingy) or his new costume single carded (uncanny x-force costume). Sadly I'm not sure how that question could be worded to not fall into one of the "can't be asked" rules. |

Will we see future comic packs based on certain crossovers like civil war or Dark Reign similar to the secret wars comic packs as apposed to more random greatest battle sets?

Is a re-release of the Mandarin figure from the Iron Man 2 line (or any figure from a wave which showed up in small numbers all around the world - these are usually the final waves of a line) on Marvel Universe's main line possible, or is a Marvel Universe Mandarin being planned?

During the SDCC panel it was mentioned that there could be a Best-of Marvel Legends series made up of previous releases. Could figures that were included in the Marvel Legends 2-Packs potentially be included in the Best-Of series?

Great job on the new MARVEL LEGENDS figures, really looking foward to buying them. How many waves are planned up until now? Are you going to remake figures that have already been done in the Toy Biz line, or maybe just update them? (Ex. Modern versions of Gambit, Colossus, Rogue, Havok, Beast, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, X-Force guys, even maybe newer characters like Vulcan and Pixie, etc.) Thanks.

How do you plan on improving distribution to Canada and other countries? I know a lot of Canadians [and Europeans] have a lot of trouble tracking down the latest Hasbro products.

Ditto, tired of hearing of our American brothers and sisters getting awesome new MU figures months before they even pop up retail for us. We not only pay more/figure but wait longer. On top of that the website has more stuff for americans vs Canadians, example anybody from my province of PEI can't even register online with the hasbro site which is bs! now I have to pay scalper prices for a ML Thor and Mighty Muggz Avengers boxset.

I've never submitted a question for one of these before but here are two that I've been wondering about.
I read that wave 1 Marvel Legends Constrictor will not have posable coils/tentacles and the reason being, the wire in them would break too easy. Just wondering why that is because the IM2 3.75" movie Whiplash has posable tentacles? It seems it would be easier to do for a larger figure with larger wires to prevent breaking. After seeing the wave 1 ML Terrax BAF, I noticed it only has one open hand for holding his huge axe. Any reason why there wasn't two open hands on that him? Or even posable hands (swing open and closed like the 2 pack Shield Agent hands).

Okay here goes
Are there plans to make the movie lines more diverse (as in more characters as preferred to the multiple variants of the main hero & the villains)? With the paint apps on some figures not being so well done, will there be plans to ensure that the figures have at decent paint apps? Collectors & the casual buyers deserve a scalper free toy line or at least one where the figures are easier to find especially in the stores that see more people buying the product but why can't the case assortments contain 4 or more of each figure? This needs to happen! If in some areas a certain store (Walmart, Target, or Toys R Us) are nowhere to be found why are there still store exclusives?

SDCC 2011, showed us there was a great deal in store for the Marvel Universe line for the next year. It has been awesome to see characters pop up which are cult-favorites and seeing most of the figures from the original fans poll and the "vote on the next exclusive" poll are being made. This would leave one to assume many of the production choices were made based upon fan reaction to the line and participation in the polling. Since Hasbro has widdled down the list quite a bit, is there a chance we could see a new Fans Choice poll coming in the near future? and if so where would the poll choices come from? **(Note accepting 3-5 nominees per fan site would be a great source.)**

I don't think we need to see 4 or more of each figure...look at the Thor line. I think it would be better to follow their Joe formula and have 4 DIFFERENT characters as 3 of each figure for the initial wave, then do the same with the next wave, then do revision mixes which are mostly troop builders. I think they have had it down with the Joe formula this year. (except moneybags destro and shadow-tracker availability). |

Question: We have seen many figures at this point and the one thing that is lacking is the effect parts. In the future will start seeing better sculpted energy, web, and action accessories?

Well, I will ask my question again, seeing now the Q&A is in effect. Here it goes.
Question 1: How do you plan on improving distribution to Canada and other countries? I know a lot of Canadians [and Europeans] have a lot of trouble tracking down the latest Hasbro products. Question 2: We are getting a new Daredevil, Bullseye, and Punisher with new body molds. Why on earth is the Shadowland Daredevil and Moonknight [being released in comic pack] using the old mold? I thought it was retired...

Huge quality control issue: I have two young boys who LIVE for Super Hero Squad toys. We noticed on the new lines based on the Thor and Captain America, as well as a custom box set found at Toys R Us, that the molds, paint applications, and overall quality of figures are no where near that of the earlier waves. Why is that? Examples: Dr Doom in the TRU set looks like a 4yr old designed the mold. A movie version of SHS Red Skull had his eyes painted on his cheeks. It's not isolated incidents either. Every single set of the TRU box set has horribly sloppy looking characters. All four of Target's Red Skull characters had sloppy paint apps. My kids (6 &4) both passed on buying new SHS characters coz the quality just wasn't there...

My question is on the prototypes we saw on ebay the prototype figures for the 4 inch iron man 2 movie whiplash armor, a concept iron man, and two exo-frames for the 4 inch mark 6 and war machine. Will these be in production??

1. You keep saying "distribution is going to be fixed", but it never is. Is there a plan in place? My stores recently all received new shipments for remods for the holiday, and everything was revision or old. What gives?

The Captain America line has been a major letdown in the vehicle department, especially when the movie had a ton of very "toyetic" vehicles. Will the Avengers movie line have vehicles/accessories that actually reflect the movie, or can we expect another repaint of the Iron Man 4X4 and Captain America "Justice Jet" with a "rolling headquarters" that isn't anywhere to be found in the film it supposedly represents?
What does it take to convince retailers that flooding the pegs with "the main character" of any given movie line doesn't work? While it's understandable to want the main character(s) to be plentiful enough to be easily found by casual buyers, do we really need three different versions of Thor and a half-dozen different Iron Man or Captain America figures preventing new stock from hitting shelves when one or two versions would likely suffice? |

Any chance of Hasbro retooling the Neo Classic Ironman Armor into the Modulor Ironman Armor? If so please include additional hands, or at least let them be interchangable with other Legend size Ironman Figures.

A while back, you guys said somewhere to expect Avengers toys to have a bigger presence in the MU series due to the cartoon and upcoming movie. Has this presence already been felt (such as Scarlet Witch, Kang, Quicksilver, Ant-Man III, Moon Knight, Wonder Man, etc) or is there an even bigger batch to come, hopefully with more requested villains and heroes such as Jarvis, Moonstone, Baron Zemo II and a full-sized Wasp (Janet Van Dyne)?.
There seems to be a huge interest in Marvel playsets and vehicles. While this question gets asked a lot, are there any definitive plans yet for a Quinjet or Blackbird or SHIELD car, etc? Or, if that's just a "coming soon, stay tuned" type answer, then perhaps you could tell us which Marvel vehicles the design team likes the most? How do you determine which different versions of characters to create, as opposed to others? For instance, why make brown Wolverine as opposed to Weapon X Wolverine, or Cable (vol 3) over 90's Cable, retro Mystique (the "classical white") and not the black ops outfit? Has there been any thought to a GI Joe/Marvel crossover series? Since you own both properties (and Transformers), a 2 pack of Deadpool and Firefly, or Snake Eyes and Captain America, could be kinda fun. This would promote brand awareness, and you could feature original Marvel created GI Joe comics. |
