If I wasn't actively trying to cut down on how many figures I get I'd have gotten the serpent hunter but I hope they'll do the Dark predator (the one you play in the story) with both of his masks. My only complaint looking at this figure is that in the game the predators' left wrist blades are around the computer not under it, it makes sense from a toymaking perspective to do it this way but it is technically inaccurate.

Easily one of my favorite Predator figures ever, and it's nuts that it comes from such an obscure source. But whatever, it's awesome...such a creepy design, and I love the backstory they came up with for the character.
Also, my Serpent Hunter actually has pretty snug hips, so that doesn't appear to be a widespread issue across the line, thankfully. He stands and holds poses without any issues. Unfortunately, what DOES appear to be a widespread issue is a defect in the head/mask where the top right tooth in the Predator's mask is actually broken off. On the vast majority of these figures I've seen at retail and on ebay, almost all of them have this problem. My Serpent Hunter has a full grill (as does yours, Joe, so we're fortunate), but I found a pic on Google of one with the broken tooth problem: I was lucky enough to happen upon a freshly-packed out case of Serpent Hunters at my local TRU, but even out of six on the peg only ONE of them didn't have the broken tooth (which is obviously the one I bought)...the other five DID. However, NECA, in their usual awesomeness, is offering replacement heads to people whose figure has this issue. Just contact their customer service department and they'll hook you up. A friend of mine did and they shipped him a new SH head pretty quickly...apparently they ordered a batch of new heads from whatever factory they get their stuff from, as the head he got was in a sealed baggie. Just thought I'd pass this along. |

The thing that's weird, I wouldn't have minded the broken tooth one as much as some people do. If you didn't know and saw it, the broken tooth looks intentional. I'm glad they're fixing the issue (I've see a few of my own and Toyark Twitter followers get the replacement masks).

I love the lighting on these photos. There was only one in the store when I bought my Serpent Hunter, and it had the broken tooth issue. However, thanks to NECA's customer service I was able to receive a fixed head free of charge. I'm impressed.
Serpent Hunter is a great addition to my ever-growing Predator clan. Now, if only I could find that Elder Predator. |

Aren't his feet too big to be from Youngblood?

Sadly, while very well-done as usual, Youngblood is probably one of the most bland Predator figures NECA's put out in a while, simply because A) it's so derivative of past releases, and B) it had the misfortune of shipping with two of the most striking Predator releases in a while: Serpent Hunter and the Elder.
The Alien head on a spear accessory is fantastic, however... I actually bought a Youngblood, kept the spear, and sold the figure itself on eBay. Nice Liefeld joke, lol. No broken spine, big ol' butt, or torpedo tits, either. Last edited by Dolemite; 04-27-2017 at 03:20 PM.. |

Im honestly not impressed with a few of these new releases. Its the same body mold, slightly different paint scheme and sometimes a different helmet... im gonna pass on these 2 so far.

Youngblood to me is good if you need a solid generic background predator to fill out your ranks. Plus as someone else said, the Alien head on a spike is an awesome accessory which I'm using with my Elder. I too had issues with his wrists being just a tad too floppy to hold the alien head spear in place for long but a little future fixed that easily.

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's... Super Predator?!?
Kidding. The AvP Elder is really great-looking, very regal. Also love how NECA gave him a removable biomask. Can't wait for my pre-order.

I really hate that face sculpt even in the packaging, so I'm hoping it looks better out of it! Otherwise he'll be permanently wearing his mask...

Nice photo shoot. And Elder is my second fav out of this wave, right behind Serpent Hunter.
