Machiko looks great! I wonder if the mask is removable or if she comes with an alternate head?

It is removable. How cool is that?

Very happy to see a comic faithful Machiko finally happening. I can't say for sure if I'll get one since I'm trying to crack down on space consumption but as a fan of the original comics and their respective sequels I'm still pretty stoked.
Someone on Twitter asked and unfortunately Broken Tusk will apparently not include an unmasked head. This is a real bummer since his freaking name is derived from a facial injury that his mask hides but I do still intend to get this figure. Yeah the colors are strictly comic-based and some of the design is cumbersome looking (like Bearjew mentioned his groin plate) but as the hero Predator from the original and best AVP I am not gonna pass on Dachande.

Machiko and Broken tusk both look very impressive, I'll be curious to see how they look when we see the final production samples. Not sure if I'll pick them up since I've never read any of the predator comics, but I'm happy for those who wanted these two to be made. Looks like NECA put a lot of effort into them.

Machiko looks great, but that face is really rough looking...particularly around the eyes. I hope they clean that up a bit for the final product...

But I'm nitpicking and am just happy she even gets a proper action figure

I will start by saying that I am happy that NECA is giving buyers what they want with comic figures.people have wanted the female for ages.
With that said, am I the only one who thinks this wave is terrible? It just gets worse with new pictures. Broken tusk looks like they stuck all the left over armor from rejected predator ideas onto an old left over body. Why does he have the Flash bolts on his armor? Why does he have multiple ones? The painted blue/black alien head looks out of place and odd. The groing plate with fpur balls and a random bone stuck on it and tassles, WTF? Hornhead isn't much better. The colors are bland, and the over sized tusks make him look like the stupid one out of the predator family. It might have work if the mouth had been opened some but like that he just looks like a broken beaver predator. Does anybody else see B.P. Richfield from Dinosaurs when the look at his strange crossed eyes? Finally Machiko, it isn't that bad but I don't think that the images reflect the quality that we have seen in human figures from the Alien line or even Dutch. Especially if they don't fix her size. Speaking of Dinosaurs how cool would it be if NECA picked up that line? Last edited by Bearjew; 06-07-2017 at 10:27 PM.. |

It says she is 6.5" which is the same as Vasquez. Makes sense as Janette Goldstein is 5'3" and the average Japanese women is 5'2".

NECA keeps in mind the scale, that's reassuring! Thank you for the math Krunomo

For those who don't like the lightning bolts on Broken Tusk it may be easy enough to remove or paint over. It doesn't appear to be part of the mould. If that's the only thing that spoils the figure then it's easily fixed.

I think the gold alien head in the second comic image looks better than the black used in the figure. The lower leg armor should be bulkier. They may have been better served to use the AVP Predator base since it is larger

I don't think this figure is bad necessarily but not good looking enough for me to buy it. I can easily wait another couple of years for the inevitable new version. Maybe they make an Ultimate version of Broken Tusk someday like they did with Ahab. |

Not what you would call a die-hard Predator fan, I know next to nothing about Machiko... and yet, I want her.

Her basic story for anyone that wants to know but isn't curious enough to look it up is that she was a human colonist-type (I believe she was a project manager or something like that) who got recruited into a Predator clan after an Alien hunt went wrong. She's the lead character in the original AVP story and its sequels.

I need to check the ark more often i got into this very late. And if NECA is making human predators does that mean that they are running out of ideas or are they just getting started?
