Originally this was my one mark against the figure but after going back and reading the comic again he doesn't spend much time unmasked (and awake) so I'm over it. From the moment he breaks out of the med bay until his fight with the queen he's masked, the queen knocks his mask off but at the same time he is impaled and begins to die. An unmasked head would have been appreciated but it technically isn't necessary.

Those ensemble pics really drive home just how ridiculous the Machiko character really is.

How do I get Machiko's blades to extend without breaking them?

I just slid them out. Are people having a hard time with those? I had to be careful when swapping her hands, but otherwise didn’t have any trouble with the blades.

Yeah a bit. The blades have this really thin section that is kinda scary, especially pushing them in. It's so thin I worry they will break, lol.

I knew they felt thin, but it never seemed like I was going to snap them off. I'll know to be a bit careful when handling them in the future though.

Nice photos!! Do these figures have an angle rocker?
On the face, I am not sure what people mean comic accuracy as well. From what I've seen, her face looks different depending on the artist. That being said, I would have liked it better if it looked like the head sculpt Sideshow had in their version. |

Hornhead has hands down been the most frustrating experience that I've hand with a Neca figure since their Striker Eureka figure all the way back with wave one of their Pacific Rim line. Not only was EVERY SINGLE JOINT LOCKED outside the head and waist swivels, but I had to go as far as place the figure in boiling water and disassemble it piece by piece to free them up. It's a project that I'm still working on as I type this, as I still have to pull the upper thighs off (which is a challenge within itself since it uses two very different types of ball pegs to hold them on, one of which does not use the hole/peg-bar configuration commonly found with most action figures.) Once that's done, I'll likely need to clean up the peg hole with a dremel because I feel that it may have been too small to accommodate the ball peg at the hip to begin with. This is something I also needed to do with the blue version of their recent Ultimate Xenomorph.
This is starting to become quite frustrating. Since NECA has moved to this new Predator body mold, this has been happening more and more frequently with me, and it's beginning to challenge my faith and loyalty in the brand. These were figures that were initially delayed for what seemed like an eternity, and they should have been perfect out the gate as they had more than enough time to work out the kinks. I should also be fair and mention that I have not been having these sorts of issues with Neca's other horror based figures like their recent Friday the 13th and Halloween figures. I did have some issues with their Pennywise out the box...but NOTHING like what I experienced with Hornhead. |

I had previously picked up Machiko and Broken Tusk, but this photo shoot totally sold me on Hornhead. I grabbed one from Target the other day and he's pretty awesome.
BTW, not having any joint issues with him ala Trivial Psychic. Yay me! But I did run into an apparent design issue where his horns are set too closely together and they interfere with putting his mask on correctly. But after dipping the top of his head in hot water for 30 seconds and softening the horns up, the mask went on properly with no problem. Looks great now.
