I saw them coming out of the box at the Toys R Us in Cary, NC earlier this week. To be honest, they seemed a little light on detail to me given the price point.

Not surprising they are being seen now. Probably had a "loose" street date as opposed to a specific one.

I bought the Blue Demon two weeks ago at TRU. Literally two weeks ago. I didn't care for the figures too much to be honest. I thought the Blue Demon looked pretty cool and wanted to give him a chance. I like him well enough I guess. I think I paid $8 for him though, not $10.
I'm sure once the movie hits they will start to sell more. The same ones have been sitting on the pegs and shelves since I bought mine. |

Yeah, he's an Air/Flying Bison. Aangs pet since being raised at the air temple, it's part of their culture as a child grows, they pick an air bison cub, and feed it by hand so that it bonds on them for life.
The one thing I LOVE the last airbender for, the sheer depth of its story. Even Anime can't compare to this, and how well woven it is with character growth. (Not to mention the fact it uses no racial stereotypes in the art unlike anime, but I digress...) For the record, the original Avatar the Last Airbender, is NOT ANIME. It's influenced by it for fluidity and action much like the Matrix is, but also shares elements of other fantasy epics of all shores as well. It's just an extremely well made american animation with stellar writing. That does not make it anime. Anime is strictly things made in Asia, for Asia, that may or may not be exported later. Ditto to Manga. The Last Airbender has and always will be an original creation for Nickelodeon, that then became a world-wide phenomenon. Can't wait for the next 'book' movies. From the looks of it, the first movie will cover a lot of what the water book does. From his re-awakening in the south pole to the assault at the northpole by the fire nation. The Earth book is one of my favorite season(tales of bah sing se, appa's lost days, any toph episode), only topped by the fire book's moments of character psyche degradation. The last time they did an appa plushie, you couldn't find it ANYWHERE, because it sold so well. It was literally the tickle-me elmo of that year, even since you can't find it for a decent low price. |

Between Sokka, Momo, Katara, Toph, Zuko and Azula, maybe even Suki, you'll get your mind made up pretty quick. Azula and Sokka especially in their growth and personal psyches. |
