I have several Neca figures (the most recent being the 7" Christopher Reeves Superman) that have uneven leg lengths. Something about how the leg sits in the hip socket makes it come down further than the other leg, preventing the figure from standing up all the way straight. Two of my Final Chapter Jason Voorhees are the same way. Anyone know how to fix that?

I solved it by putting Superman on a flight stand.

My Striker Eureka has the same problem. I hate that damn figure.
As for fixing it, not a whole lot really, unless you're considering and are willing to crack the whole figure open. Due to the crazy aftermarket prices on those figures currently as is should you happen to screw up, I just wouldn't risk it. |

This has been a problem for so many years with NECA (and McFarlane figures as well). I have been collecting since 1998, and I have scads of figures that were perfect when I first opened them and displayed them, but over time one leg shortened while it was sitting on my shelf. The reality is that although these figures are super cool, they are made of crap plastic (to keep production prices down). The plastic is actually still settling while the figure is in transit/shipping. You will have even more issues with one leg shortening if you expose your figure to any heat at all. So do yourself a favor and keep it away from any heat ducts during the winter, and also during the summer keep the figures in a room that is well cooled by air conditioning if possible. Don't let your toy room get warm at all…keep it cool.
I prop mine up with coins under their short leg. In fact, a couple of mine I have epoxied them to coins because I am so sick of them falling over. |
