Exactly. And practically EVERYBODY complained about how much that mold sucked and how Hasbro should stop using it to the point that Hasbro actually listened and announced they retired the mold. Of course, any other figures using the mold that were already too far along in development at the time still got released (including the translucent variant of Vision).
Having said that, this means the mold still exists and has not been mothballed, destroyed or otherwise. Assuming that to be true it would be of no surprise for Hasbro to "un-retire" the mold. In fact after the announcement of retirement I remember seeing the mold at least two more times in production.

The problem with re-issuing MU Vision is that he used the same body as the first release of Daredevil and Hasbro retired that mold a couple of years ago. So that means his mold is no longer available for them to do any re-issues.
If Hasbro ever does another Vision figure, it will probably be either a brand new mold or a redeco/remold of one of the newer bucks. |

I could be wrong but the early wave Spider-Man looks to use most of the same part. The webs are sculpted on the chest but it's clearly the same stubby arms, legs, lower torso, etc. I think the upper torso and shoulder joints are a bit smaller.
That was part of what I meant. If they still have the parts for Spider-Man then they should have them for Vision as they clearly keep the molds and Spider-Man uses a lot of those same parts. Ummm those two molds have nothing in common. The spiderman is skinner for one.you can look in the picture and tell neither mold share anything. Look at the torso.....not even close and seeing as the spiderman has the webs molded in mold.....then it's really not hard to see they are not close by any means.....you should stop grasping at those straws.... I would like to pint out that in the upcoming (maybe) pack of Antman w/ Moon Knight the Moon Knight mold is the re-issue of the same mold that was used for Vision, etc. meaning that retired means about as much as it did to Michael Jordan, Randy Moss and George Foreman.
Having said that, this means the mold still exists and has not been mothballed, destroyed or otherwise. Assuming that to be true it would be of no surprise for Hasbro to "un-retire" the mold. In fact after the announcement of retirement I remember seeing the mold at least two more times in production. As I mentioned in my earlier post, some figures using that mold were already too far along the production schedule when Hasbro made that announcement; so they were coming out one way or another regardless. Based on when the first promotional pics showed up, the original production run of Ant-Man/Moon Knight was most likely produced during that time frame. The real question is why has it taken so long for it to be released to retail (assuming it ever makes it there). By the way, no new characters have been done using the DD v1 mold since that announcement, either. But hey, there is some precedence for reverse-engineering a new mold from an existing toy (usually when the toy is in demand but the original mold was too degraded, lost or destroyed). It's how Takara was able to re-create the G1 Soundwave mold from the Soundblaster version. Quote:
I suppose someone could research the full case assortments for 2012 and see if he was listed.

Not to my knowledge. The last time I saw the single-packed Moon Knight as filler was back in late 2011. And that could have simply been a matter of the retailer finding old stock in the back room. I suppose someone could research the full case assortments for 2012 and see if he was listed. The Moon Knight has been quasi around, waiting to get its release again forever. When did they announce the "retirement"? I really seem to remember them announcing it and then we saw new figures with the mold soon after.

I think Wave 12 was Dec 2010/Jan 2011 (yikes, serious Geek speak here) which had a repaint of DD and Clear Vision.

As I said the sculpted webbing is different but arm/legs/lower torso are the exact same dimension. The upper torso and shoulder joints are larger, which I said. My original point was how much part sharing they do and how it is likely easy to remake old figures if they can do it with Spider-Man. No need to nasty about it bro.

I want to see villians that come with minions: a modok that comes with two hyrda agents. Brood Queen with two broodlings. Superskrull with two skrull soldiers.
I want to see vehicles as con exclusives: a Blackbird, a comic version quinjet, fantasticar, shield's flying car, punisher's van, dan ketch GR and cycle. I want to see a MU stan lee figure. I want to see a Sinister Six boxed set. I want a freedom force boxed set with Blob, pyro, avalanche, mystique and toad. I want an Agents of Atlas boxed set. I want the original line up of the New Warriors as a boxed set. I want a Galactus herald's boxed set: surfer, firewalker, terrax, etc. I want a Moleman with that iconic, mouth-agape creature from monster island. I want an 80s Beast figure. I want a Rom figure. I want a Jarvis figure. I want a Venom figure. I want a prison playset: the vault I want a danger room playset. There's a whole lot more "I wants" if half of these are ever made then that would make me shell out more money, Hasbro. |

I'd add some old school TIMELY COMICS comic two packs, they never seem to grasp the concept of introduecing or reintroduceing, charactures to kids through toys rather than selling them charactures marked through other mediums. |

You mentioned Timely so let's add a team pack to the mix that has Red Raven, The Destroyer and Kid Colt.
Oh, I also want you to be president of Hasbro. |

Man, if they made an Agents of Atlas boxed set i'd never ask for anything ever again from Hasbro.

With so many customizers out there making, well the best figures I've ever seen, why dosnt Hasbro embrace the craze and make custom kits( im thinking a kind if upgraded twist on, like "Creepy crawlers". they could then sell bags of unpainted parts. arms legs torsos, ect, and paint, cheep one shot molds, tools, almost like model kits. even put an area on there website with recipies and examples. I think people would buy it, and they would be buying into a fast growing market that they seem to ignore.

I think they could come up with something that would have mass appeal, like a customizing activity set. and the initial set, a silicone molding kit, oven, materials, and what have you, might have a high price point, but that would be offset by cheaper "materials packs" with body parts accessories, weapons, ect. They could simplefy it enough so kids would have fun and make something they'd enjoy, and serious enthusiasts could make some really cool customs. Kind of a toy geeks EZbake oven.
