Apparently, this is what Toyark Marvel forum is so well known for.
SPECULATION/FAVORITE THREADS! Above I've listed as many of the harder to find MU (not counting sister lines) toys. If you have any suggestions that should be added let me know. Vote up above!!!!!!!! Last edited by Tarquinius; 07-18-2011 at 07:18 AM.. |

hmmm. well. theres a few if you include the movie lines
IM2 : Mandarin XMO : Astonishing Wolverine/Colossus MU : Cable W/ Hope, Thanos(Though thats changing), regular Dr Strange, Archangel(Dunno if this changed) CA : Varient Skull and Hydra troops Thor : the Warriors three, the Destroyer, King Loki, probably Sif. this is all due to the poor performance of wave 1.

I voted for AA (Death Mask is what I'm voting for), but there's three figures I've never seen in retail..
1) Archangel (Death Mask) 2) Cable w/Hope 3) Vision (color) I think it's too early to include Wave 14, but I don't think any of those figs will be that tough to come by based on how much of it has been spotted and bought already in the short time it's been in retail.

I think this thread had already been made but without the poll.
The variant vision and warpath should be removed. The only poll choice should be the regular vision and warpath for those as the variants became more abundent after the revision waves. Some of the newer figures are too new to be considered rare like the Cyclops and Apocalpyse. I just saw 3-4 Apocalpyse at Target last week alone. Maybe add cable with baby hope? If your including exclusives then the Invaders set, Nick Fury, Thor, and Captain America's would need to be on there. Also the Goliath set with Iron Man is pretty hard to find.

I think you've missed the rarest MU figure in your list. The only figure I have never seen at retail and can hardly ever find even online is the light blue Bullseye. Dark blues are everywhere, but the original light blue is, in my opinion, the hardest to find MU figure.

I've seen every single mass retail fig in stores except the regular Vision.
On a side note I've only seen Black Widow once. I'm glad I got her.

Here's my comments on each from the poll:
Thanos - seen at a few comic shops for only a couple of bucks more Vision (regular or variant) - have seen the vision and became common after the revision. Have NEVER seen the regular Vision. Warpath (regular or variant) - variant was common after revision cases. Have NEVER seen the regulat Warpath but I thought he was fairly common before. Apocalypse - still see him at retail, not rare at all Jim Lee Cyclops - fairly hard to find but not rare Skaar - found him once but dont think he is rare Dr Strange (regular or variant) - variant is not very hard to find, regular seems tough to find so far but still fairly new to say. Archangel (regular or variant) - regular is pretty common, the death archangel is hard to find and the SDCC or the digital subscription Archangel are probably the most rare. Havok (regular or variant) - regular is very common, variant i've never seen and is hard to find. Comic pack Taskmaster/Deadpool - still see every once in a while at retail, not rare at all I'd agree to add these: light blue bullseye, cable w/baby hope, blade and the exclusives if you are counting them.

I bought original light blue Bullseye, Blade, regular Vision, death mask Arch, and variant Havok all retail. In fact, I never did see a regular Arch retail until recently, but I found 3 total death masks back then and even left him sit there one of those 3 times because all I wanted was regular..
If this is a retail only list, this should be a list consisting of regular Vision, regular Warpath, variant Havok, variant Archangel, Blade, and mayyyybe some runner-ups in Thanos, Cable w/ Hope, original Bullseye. |

I've seen every figure at retail. I'd say the rarest is a tie between the Nick Fury giveaway figure and the X-Force Archangel giveaway.
I even walked into target today and got wave 14. I guess the toy gods are smiling on me. I feel bad for all the dudes in the heavily scalped/lots of collector areas. |

Umm none of the above.
It would have made a difference if you had the variants apart. |

As per the topic, personally every figure listed I don't have, so they're rare to me. However a good portion of it can be bought easily through ebay or BBTS. Limited to just MU figures... no sister waves, then the exclusive Mail away figures of Nick Fury and X-FORCE Archangel are the rarest as they're even more limitedly produced then the rest and required more effort $$ to aquire. and now the people who bought them are reaping the rewards of resale. The newer wave figures cable, apocalypse, jim lee cyclops etc can be bought as an entire wave on BBTS and for most it just hasn't hit retail yet... hell Cap Merch just barely hit my area like less then a week ago. I personally want to focus on MU but there's not much new coming my way... I did see my Zeller's restock the MU figures with the wwh line, which I had everything but Captain Marvel which I finally got... I think it's 1 of the only lines I actually have complete, most are missing 1-2 or the entire thing hahah. A lot of it comes down to finding it retail vs online, because you can buy anything online if your willing to pay the price. Retail is hit and miss and even if a wave does reach you no guarantee scalpers, collectors, parents, kids etc don't get there before you... That's have the challenge with anything collectable.. everybody has the same stuff it's the rare things that stand out and make a collection a collection. It's like any type of collection we can all afford the basics, but to be a completist and to have all the hard to find 1 in a case stuff and in mint condition it costs $$ and takes time.. Out of the one's on the poll the only one I haven't seen is the deadpool taskmaster pack. Of course I haven't had the money to Buy most of them. And as fate would have it the comic package is the one I'm looking. For. I don't count varients as i live in charlottesville va and we are lucky to see anything within a a year!
