The movie comes out in a couple of weeks. Anyone looking forward to it and/or read the book?
I thought the book was pretty good (read it twice) despite the 80s pop culture references seeming a little pandering at times and the protagonist being a bit of a Mary Sue (or whatever the male equivalent is). From the trailers it seems like they've changed a bit of the plot and reigned in the 80s-specific references, seems to be more focused on geek culture stuff from the last 20 years than anything else. Also, if some of those changes to the plot are due to time, I think the story woulve been better served if it was broken up in two parts. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. |

I never read the book, but I'm hoping to see the movie. It could be really good or really disappointing judging from the trailers.

This movie is probably going to be the reason Pacific Rim ends with this second movie.
It comes out the week after. If PR doesnt hit it big week one it's done. |

It looks like the Delorean serves a fairly prominent role in the movie, judging by all the appearances it makes in the trailers.

They really shuffled around and condensed the hell out of the book but, I think they did a good job bringing the world to life. Loved some of the visuals too. Other than the main lead, who was forgettable, I thought it was well cast and wasn't too impressed with the music selection either.
So yeah, like Ladyhawke, it was just alright but, forgettable for the most part. |

I never see the book and have no idea of the latest comics minifigures from different markets.

I figured the movie wouldn't follow the book exactly. In fact without spoiling anything it deviated quite a bit, but it was still a fun movie and one of my favorites of the year so far!
