While I'm not the insaniac that paid $300 plus on Ebay for his Res SE, this is easily the most fun $50 I've plunked down on a Chinese test shot/product sample. This design is so full of "WIN!" that it makes me wonder why we haven't seen more stuff of this caliber before now. That being said, I sure am glad that it's here now, and the bonus of a great animated movie to go with, makes it even better. If ROC fails, Hasbro has got a completely winning incarnation of Joe to fall back on that should easily please fans of the property.
If I'm not mistaken, this is the first Snake Eyes that can actually hold his sword in this 2 handed grip without some part of the body looking un-natural or like it's about to break. Kudos on the design!!
Here are some basic pics of the figure without accs/gear. As you can see, the harness and belt are loose, but not really intended to be removable. Fine by me, less parts to try to keep up with while still allowing all the functionality that is needed. Basic weapons layout. The scabbard was warped when I got it, and I tried to dip it in hot water to straighten it out resulting in the wavy finish you see here. Live and learn. Also, I'm not real sure what purpose the crampons serve here, but in nothing else you can add them to the Blizzard custom you were working on. Some geared up shots, showing weapon placement and size. The rifle seems a bit dainty, but it most likely is really in 1/18th scale and my perception is off due to seeing the size of the older and larger weapons of the past. A curiosity mostly, but as you can see this has the now famous "HM" markings, the current "H" brand that has been used lately, and a very weird sharpie code on the head. Here are a couple of comparison shots to give you an idea as to overall size. The upper body and arms are a touch skinny, but well defined so they work well for a character who is supposed to be "ninja-style" physically fit. The overall sculpting and detail on this figure is outstanding, and this is easily the most bang I've ever gotten for my Chinese buying dollar. I can't wait to grab one of these off the shelf at retail! Two shining examples of how to make a great action figure:

Almost forgot, want to give credit to Black Sheep Toy Store for the hookup. Great bunch of guys and fair to deal with.

I'm in love with this figure already. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the sculpted muscles on the torso, but that head sculpt is soooooo damn slick. I haven't bought any Joes(well minus the $5 Conquest last month) since December... I think I'm gonna have to start up again.

I feel sad that awsome figure like this won't be making into my place, really really sad case, people there just don't know how much they will miss.

I've yet to pick up a snake eyes to go with MU, and after seeing this, he's the one I want to get. |

I think that figure is super great! Just the sheath and sword are too big...my only complaint.

I think I read on the Resolute website that the sheath is intentionally longer than the sword to fool an opponent and provide a faster draw from the sheath. But the sword is too long. But seriously, that is a major nitpick. This figure is SICK!

It seems as if we'll be getting this figure, but not necessarily how you'd expect. It will be cast all in black with the Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes head according to some pre-prod pics that just showed up.

Does that confirm that he won't be released as a regular Resolute figure though? Either way I saw that Snake Eyes yesterday and he looks FANTASTIC as well. |

Hard to say for sure. I really do think that Hasbro will be doing what they usually do for movie releases and cancel anything not related. A good example would be the wv 14 figures that have show up as carded samples from HK(NF Falcon, Re SS, Zap, etc...).

You're probably right... I didn't pay much attention to Hasbro's marketing on the first TF movie.. So I never saw if they ended up not releasing a bunch of things.
I still think that Snake-Eyes in general looks awesome for the ROC toys... The other guys would make pretty good grunts. |

I just can't wait for the movie to finally come out so new product starts hitting shelves. I'm sick of seeing the exact same stuff every time I go out.

Yeah all they have is the revision wave with Roadblock, Destro and such. As if I didn't see those for the entire month of December 2007, whilst I waited for Snow Job!

I feel that Hasbro really dropped the ball with Resolute. The fans all loved that incarnation of the Joe universe and are now all dying for new product. Resolute has been more successful than ROC will ever be, IMO. They have completely neglected Resolute in favor of ROC, but they are really aimed at two different demographics. Isn't there enough room for both to exist? I don't see why Resolute stuff needs to take the back burner. Hopefully once all the movie stuff dies down we'll see a lot of Resolute product. Fingers crossed!
