Too tiny for the price. No thanks, PAK's are better.

This may be the justification I use too. Recently I've realized that for Revoltech, my favorite ones are from Macross and the rest are okay. Decent but I don't think I will be buying anymore. Though PAK is also made mostly of PVC, I think for the price and size, you get more bang for your buck with PAK as opposed to Revoltech.
Plus I have Solid Snake from PAK. Now if Bandai makes a D-Arts Solid Snake...

I agree, The revoltech figures are just too small for the price they want. And Play Arts Kai does such a great job on the MGS line that it doesn't help.

mmmm... if I think, the only thing I would buy from Revoltech it would be a MGS Rex. Because the plastic kit from kotobukiya disappointed me a lot.

Interesting look. But that's not Solid Snake. It's Naked Snake/Big Boss, isn't it?

Yes it is and that disappoints me. Solid Snake would have been my first Revoltech but Big Boss is a pass.

I like it. Nice recreation of the game art style. But for the price it's going for, don't think so.

How much is it ? When can I get it ? How tall is it ? I hate that these toy companies reveal one figure and leave us in the dark about any other figures they have planned. I'd be able to make a better decision about buying or not if I knew there was going to be more characters available. I also want info on the size. I'm aware that Revoltechs are always on the small size but how small will this be ? I'm not looking for speculation, I want solid numbers.

Damn. I pre-ordered it for the heck of it but since it's Big Boss I'm bummed. I got a PAK Big Boss in a trade recently so I don't need another version of the same character.

Comes with the exclamation mark and the sleeping Zs. Could it be a generic guard will also be coming soon to go with those pieces?

Go figure, it turned out to be Big Boss. Really surprising, since Kojima has almost completely ignored Solid Snake for the last seven years or so.
Well and the sneaking suit was obviously Boss's. With that pointless text aside, this figure is actually cool, but not worth replacing my PAK version. If I had never bought the PAK version, I'd probably go for this one. The Anime-ish face is a bit harder to stomach, but it's still cool. It's definitely JUST the standard sneaking suit we've been getting since Portable Ops/Peace Walker. |

the metal gear solid PAKS are great. but the images of this revoltech naken snake it is clear that it is capable of doing more poses than a pak wishes it could. while the pak may have a better size/price but thats about it, each figure has their flaws and to me pak has more flaws than revoltech. i think i would be more satified with revoltech.
if it was solid snake from mgs1 or mgs2 and the face was sculted in a nice way, cartoony or realist i dont care, the whole package would be sick as hell and I'd buy two.. i do wish revoltech was a little bigger |

Dig it but I'm not into Revoltechs as I was before mainly because they use PVC for the most part. I like the exclamation point effect part.
Now if Bandai up and makes D-Arts MGS, it's over..

I can say I don't want it, but as soon as Gray Fox is released, I'll need them all.
These won't get in the way of my now 2-week old addiction to PAKs though. Some PAK figures need to be released with like "exclamation", "question marks", "Z's", and "swirly stars" accessories.

The sculpt is good but I am surprised that Kojima let Yamaguchi go with the more cartoon-esque face sculpt. From what I heard, Kojima is pretty nitpicky with licensing/likeness and this is one reason McFarlane was not able to secure the MGS3 Snake Eater license back in the 2000's.
The articulation looks good but the typical Revoltech issues are popping up. I like the Revolver Joints but look at how they ruin the sculpt, take for example, the left knee..holy crap.. Articulation is impressive but being that this is a Revoltech and that I'm not fond of these as much as I used to be, I might buy the PAK over this, especially given the similar price. I think the PAK simply gives more bang for the buck. The PAK has a better sculpt aside from the thunder thighs and short lower legs. Also I'm not a fan of the pinned wrists.
