Not a massive SW fan (don't dislike it, just somehow didn't catch the bug) but that looks great.
Do super rare toys generally go for that sort of ridiculous money? You always hear of cars and props etc, but rarely toys. |

I doubt it. Why are the corners on the bubble squared off, pics of other vintage figures the plastic it rounded off. I've only heard of loose prototype figures, not carded ones.

It's not a finalized card back. Early packaging sample. The actual back is blank. Seller has perfect feedback with nearly 750 sales, plus selling other proto items.

Dan Caldwell (co-owner of Tapout brand) has a SW collection second to none...here's a sample.

Most likely. Along with the info Joe provided, if you read the item description, the seller said that he was on Pawn Stars recently for their episode "The Pawn Awakens" with the Boba Fett figure.

If it is for $150,000 you'd think he'd throw in free shipping instead of the $250 he's charging.

I know it's not nearly the same thing but I freakin' loved when the Star Wars mail-away figure from around 2010 or so was the vintage mold Boba Fett with the firing rocket gimmick, basically it was finally the actual release of what this thing was going to be instead of the one we actually got in '79 (I'm pretty sure it was like '79 when the first Boba Fett toy was released as hype for the new movie) which didn't have the firing rocket for safety reasons. Either way like I said the recent mail-away figure is nowhere near this thing in value but it was still really cool to finally have what was originally promoted.

It ended. I am quite sure it was sold. I have see a few shows that showed these figures. I recall 2. On Toy Hunter, and Pawn Stars.

I'll never understand paying 150,000 dollars for a figure like this. Yes, it's an interesting piece of Star Wars figure history, but the only difference it has from the standard figure is the rocket-firing feature (and let's be real, no one who spent that much it taking it out-of-package to play with!) so it'd just be easier to get a vintage Boba in decent shape and a reproduction blister pack kit. I guess it's just kind of an "I've got enough money to buy this" sort of status symbol, haha

It's no longer available, hopefully this guy realized that eBay was gonna murder him with final value fees if this thing sold, and it would be better off to actually take this to a real auction house.
