Nice, they went with Mignola's artwork for the box that was used for the Criterion release. Can't wait for this!

Nice packaging. I just hope that these sell in sufficient numbers...I don't know how much this line will appeal to non-Del Toro/horror/fantasy fans.
That said, I have never seen The Devil's Backbone. Should I? |

I hope there is a healthy amount of interest at least to keep the line going long enough to get everything we've seen so far. I'm still very anxiously awaiting the Faun to go up for pre-order and I also want the Amphibian Man.

Yes, highly recommend The Devils Backbone. That and Cronos are I think his best films, though I'm really partial to Hellboy being a fan of the comics, and Pan's Labyrinth of course.

The designs are pretty awesome, so how much they would appeal to general populace is debatable. That said, how much of any of NECA's offerings appeal to the masses? Horror, fantasy, sci-fi, video games, or nostalgia. All of which, I'd suspect, have a built in audience, but does not reach too many others. Maybe the Golden Girls will break that mold.

It's a common mistake but that cover art for "The Devil's Backbone" was done by frequent Del Toro collaborator Guy Davis. Mignola did the cover art for "Cronos".
