I just hate how they take up most of the space at conventions and comic shops, but I get that it's because people are buying them

Ah, gotcha. Part of me had a feeling it had to do with the licensing, glad to see I was on the right track there.

Ok, I might get these. Although I'd much prefer a Reaction style line like Super 7 has with MotU.

These look absolutely fantastic. Hopefully they sell well, so we get more.

Wow. These things kill Super7's shot at Motu 5.5" figures. Plus the price is almost half. What gives??

Thundercats weren't on the MOTU bodies, and therefore, those look weird.

I like Funko Pops, at first I didn't but they have changed big time and they are actually pretty cool. I use them to fill in holes in my collection that I would not get in action figure form, like Venomized Hulk or Mr.Rogers or Pee Wee Herman. The Thundercats look good. Hopefully we will get some more Mortal Kombat figures.

This is kind of awesome. I hope they do others like this too. Loving the 80s campiness of a toyline crossover this presents. Definitely hope Silverhawks is in the works for this too much later. There's kind of a hilarity niche awesomeness to doing 80s icons in this way using an 80s icon figure style.
Kind of has this "Wish MOTU did this in the 80s" kind of feel. |

These will be a much larger production run compared to the vintage MOTU figures and available in general retail stores.

I bet they won't last long enough to get the good characters...Tuska Warrior and Snowman of Hook Mountain.
Has any Thundercats revival gone the distance, actually? |

No. Thundercats toys generally don't seem to sell so well. However, I feel these have a btter shot to last at least a few waves. Funko has a different approach than, say, Bandai or Mattel did. With Funko, they'll keep pumping them out until sales fall 100% flat and only then pull the plug. Also, the low price is going to make them a great impulse purchase.

I'm not normally into this style even though I loved MOTU as a kid, but the Thundercats look really good...

I think that's kind of the idea, though.

Don't forget the golden chrome, as that seems to be their latest thing. ;-)

I wish the Horror figures weren't so human-looking so that I could better integrate the two waves together.

As far as variants, their Mortal Kombat figures only got 3 so it's hard to tell if they're going to go variant crazy with the rest of the figures. I hope so tho.

These do look awesome, especially the Thundercats, I feel they look right at home on the MotU body style.
With these and old school kenner style figures making a comeback, one can only hope the old G.I. Joe rubberband ring body figures could make a return. Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, hell Dragon Ball Z, or Power Rangers, I'd buy them all in that style of figure. I remember the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter G.I. Joes were some of my favorite figures as a kid. Also I think Kinnikuman/MUSCLE is just dying to be done on the MotU style body, anyone remember MUSCLE? The little pink wrestler/monster guys from the gumball machines? |

I remember first seeing Loyal Subjects figures and saying I'd buy them if they didn't have oversized heads like Funko Pop do.
So it's a little funny that Funko is the company giving me that alternative. And these do look reasonably well done, especially compared to something like Zoloworld. |

Super7 has been cranking out M.U.S.C.L.E. for a few years now. A whole wide range of licenses, too. |

And Kayako!
Those may come later if they can get the license, and start working out the female buck for figures. Which should come once they do Cheetara. I've actually grown quite fond of the 'net shipping' of Sadako and Jason. It really is oddly perfect. So I hope they do make her at some point. If they can nab the Sadako Vs Kayako rights, that'd probably at least give them 3 monsters, and leave the rights open for other areas to still do them. I'm kind of torn on that though, because I almost want Mcfarlane to get the Sadako vs Kayako rights. Maybe they can find some way to split the rights. It really is only 3-5 monsters and maybe 7 humans that need to be covered from that movie. So it'd be a very short release, but I'd definitely buy the sadako/kayako pops in a heartbeat. Damn, now I kind of want a monster royale rumble of Jason, Sadako, Kayako, and Freddy. Bonus if Funko can do dancing Sadako and Kayako. Also, special baseball variants.
