The movie armored version of Whiplash is interesting looking but the colors are just too 'bleh'.

That MK.VI with the Stark logos is so gimmicky and yet I love it to death.
And the MK. V is stupendous as always. I'm glad I held off on buying the other one. I'd prefer this one with more hands. |

Some of these I actually really like despite the fact that they're kind of ridiculous, like the purple Hypervelocity with the fake glowing arc reactor, the repainted deep dive armor, the Razorwind one with the jetpack wings... (Since when does Iron Man need a jetpack or wings anyway? Color scheme is cool though, I like the gun too. It reminds me of the House of M machine gun, but it's a bit different.)
Some are just plain silly though, like the ugly maroon War Machine with the matching washer & dryer on his shoulders. He might as well be one of those Armor Deluxe figures, with their insanely oversized weapons bigger than the characters themselves. Ugh, do not like those or that guy. Intrigued by the really dark black War Machine... maybe it's the basis for the unmasked Rhodey one?

sigh. every single one of those repaints blows and will darken shelves till the end of next summer ~ if they ever make it there: most of the stores around me are still jam-packed with wave 1 and maybe 2.
Is that Whiplash very accurate? that's not really what i remember him looking like in the movie... I guarantee that'll be the one fig from all this that people want though. |

That is a must-buy for me. Love the black deco and the shoulder missle rack. I'll probably get the others two anyway, because I'm a sucker for Rhodey.

it's mostly the head, i thought i remembered the head being more angular and aggressive looking, but that's why i was asking.
that's really great you dig 'em, and i mean no disrespect, i've just gotten a pretty good eye for what sells well in these kind of lines, and bizarre, random repaints of the hero with no context rarely do. And like i said, around here nothing outside of the core figures seems to really be moving. Especially the vehicles, deluxe figs and concept series <--which most of these repaints remind me of. well, yeah, EVERYONE wants those preferably in a multipack! The only difference I can see on the black one (besides the deco) is his new shoulder missile rack.

These all look great for me, I have gotten hooked on the Iron Man 2 line. Any word on the Concept Series line or is it being put to rest?

I think the movie line is basically limited to what's actually seen on the screen, so besides the drones, armored Whiplash, unmasked IM/WM and maybe Black Widow there's not a whole lot more figures left that they can make. I imagine that almost all the rest (and most of what we see here) will be concept series.

the whiplash mk II armor isn't shown, just the prototpe suit from hammer industries shown earlier in the movie (think spin action) the differences are the arms are different also the the helmet is different.

the head on the hammer test suit is different from the one in the movie, if you asked me it looks like someone tried to make a movie version ultimate iron man that failed and decided to re-use the head from it to make that figure....just speculating
