Just finished putting this guy together and figured I'd share a few pics.
I actually didn't take the exclusive effect part off of its sprue so it's not in the completed pictures, so this is as far as I know what the standard retail version will be like as well. Box: Contents: Five lions: The bits that don't get used in combination (plus the "**** You" Gun that you can form): Form Voltron!: Putting everything together didn't take too too long, I had put together the black lion while I was still in San Diego and put the rest together today. Didn't really time myself or anything, probably took a couple hours or so, give or take. I really wish the stickers had been tampoed on or something, particularly for this version, because...well that's always been my least favorite aspect of any sort of minipla or gunpla and while I get some people like it, I've always hated it. Takes too much precision to make it not look like crap and even then it generally doesn't look that good, stickers also peel and wear over time, I just never got the appeal outside of nostalgia I guess. The build itself was pretty fun though, there's some bits that were a bit more intricate than I had expected, but the result is some very well articulated figures that actually feel decently solid in hand and hold together quite well. You also end up having to build two heads for each lion (except for the black lion), a smaller one for lion mode and a larger one for the combined mode. There's also (as you can see) a bit of partsforming, mostly removing limbs and swapping heads, to get them ready to combine. The combined mode looks fantastic, combination is super easy and feels sturdy. He's nicely articulated, lots of options for posing. Putting the shield together didn't really feel all that great, I think they could have found a more secure way to plug the central yellow bit into the outer part, I still don't even know if it's all that secure on mine, but meh. Being able to plug all the blades and guns and bits together into a big **** You gun is kind of awesome, but I don't plan on ever really displaying him holding it and I wish it had either a separate display stand or had some way to store it on him rather than tossing it in the box. Otherwise though, I really like the figure, was one of the two exclusives I was really wanting this year (and of those was the only one I was actually able to get, Prince Adam was sold out at the show and I didn't have the means to preorder one from online while I was there).
