Here's a cool little bit of Transformers merchandising if you like to devour everything there is about Transformers - a new licensed Transformers foodstuff! Hershey's ice cream have produced a new Transformers "Autobot Blast Bar", a strawberry, lemon and fruity blue moon flavored ice cream bar, done in the Autobot symbol design. The packaging features the new 2014 style but like other merchandising we have seen recently, it uses Transformers Prime artwork for the packaging.

An upgrade for an unofficial third party transforming robot set, you say? Yes, it seems that hot on the heels of the recently completed FansProject Menasor / Stunticons, an upgrade is being made for the set by GI Eddie (who made an alternate head for TFC's Hercules Devastator) and Echo TF (who made an upgrade for Fall of Cybertron Bruticus). The designs are in shapeways prototypes at the moment, but the intention is to move into full production - check out a sampling of images attached to this story, and check out full details on the Echo TF Facebook page.

The Transformers: Age of Extinction Youtube channel has uploaded a "new" TV spot for the upcoming fourth Transformers live action movie. There's not a whole lot of new footage in this clip, and it is fairly similar to previous TV spots that have aired, however there are some new elements in the CGI, indicating some tweaks from previous spots and trailers. Check it out:

And so we reach 1990, the final year of Transformers Generation 1 for the USA. By now Transformers was truly coming to an end, with the original Generation 1 comic series reaching what writer Simon Furman had intended to be a finale with issue 75. The Transformers toyline carried on with more Micromasters and also the Action Masters – poseable Transformers that did not transform – which are sometimes blamed for killing the toyline, and there is no doubting they were a nail in the coffin. Even Japan, which had persisted with cartoons and new toys all of its own, began to show signs of a decline with Transformers Zone being a single episode direct-to-video release instead of a full broadcast TV series. With the comic coming to a close and no new cartoons on TV anywhere in the world, it was a very bleak time for the Transformers brand.

Official Transformers Facebook Page has been updated with some official stills from the upcoming Michael Bay movie; Transformers: Age Of Extinction. While we’ve seen most of the images, one image is new and it features Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager trying to look what's inside the rusty truck he acquired recently (which he soon finds out as Optimus Prime in hiding).
We have the images in High Resolution, after the jump. |

IDW's Transformers: Windblade series kicks off this week, and to help promote that they've released a special teaser for the folks at TFW2005. Fan-favorite Rattrap will be making an appearance (as seen earlier in our preview story). This continues the merging of various generations into the IDW-verse like Sky-Byte from the RID franchise, Waspinator from Beast Wars and Starscream rocking his Armada body.
In addition to that, we also have another promo image from IDW's Facebook starring the leading lady herself, Windblade. Windblade #1 drops this Wednesday at comic shops and on your favorite digital app. Check out the promo pics after the break! |

Hallmark have unveiled a 2014 Transformers Keepsake ornament. Perhaps fittingly for the 30th anniversary year, this ornament is inspired directly by the toy that started it all for many of us, the Generation 1 Optimus Prime, in a pose reminiscent of how he appeared in the original Generation 1 box art. Check it out and see what you make of this item.

The Transformers brand was effectively finished by 1991 in the US, with the last embers fading out early in the year as the long-running Marvel comic finished in both the US and the UK - with a promise that the comic would continue in the UK being utterly, cruelly dashed at the last by Marvel UK itself folding. The Transformers toyline in Japan started to slow down with fewer new toys released as Takara’s new Brave franchise found its legs and took Transformers’ place as the company’s main transforming robot action property. In Europe, Australia and Canada, some toy releases continued, with a handful of additional Action Masters, reissued original toys and even some Japanese imports. Even in this bleakest of times, the Transformers brand soldiered on.

Does anything say "I mean business" better than your own Transformers business card holders? We didn't think so either. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Transformers, the company Kotobukiya will be making 3D Embossed Business Card holders. The two holders feature images of Generation 1 Optimus Prime and Megatron. The slick addition to your business attire will be released this July at approximately 2,800 yen (or roughly $27.47 USD).

1992 was a very quiet year for the Transformers. With neither a comic nor a cartoon to support the brand, and no toy releases in the US, the line slumbered. The Japanese Transformers line, which had been running since 1985, came to its end with Operation Combination. Europe, Australia and Canada among other international markets continued to do well though, with a few more Japanese designs making it over along with some all-new toys. And although it was a quiet year, an important feature in the form of light-piped eyes would make its debut in 1992 – and would remain a feature of Transformers design off and on for the remainder of the line’s history.

Another announcement today from Kotobukiya as they've revealed another image of how they intend to promote the 30th Anniversary of the Transformers! Yesterday it was the classy business card holders, today, it's proper neck ties. Perfect for nerdy professionals looking to prompt a conversation with a prospective client.
Check out all six designs by clicking the title bar and join in the discussion. Now, who can tie a tie? |

Back in 2009 Chevrolet aired a commercial featuring General Motors vehicles with clips from then upcoming Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. It seems as though they have done it again.
At the New York International Auto Show 2014, General Motors is playing a new commercial with clips from Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Based on the scene, we can speculate that the vehicles are gathering to aid Optimus Prime at the Yeager Residence when it came under attack by Savoy and his goons. The Auto Show also has 2014 Chevrolet Camaro (Bumblebee), 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray (Crosshairs) and the Chevy TRAX (unnamed Decepticon/Vehicon) on display. The video is on Instagram and you can click here to view. We will update it with a better quality version as soon as we have it. |

When TFW2005 revealed the title of Transformers 4 to the world for the first time, we also revealed 3 more titles belonging to the Transformers Franchise. Later we found out that some of those titles are in fact belong to several video games slated to release in 2014 and 2015. One of those titles was "Transformers: Spirits Rising".
PAX EAST EXPO 2014 concluded couple of days ago and with it we have our first look at a new Transformers Mobile Game by DeNA / Mobage (developers of Transformers: Legends) titled "Transformers: Rising". Thanks to a video game news website named 2P, we have the scoop. According to the site: Transformers Rising takes the story of The Transformers as the background. Players will have the chance to act as the leader of Transformers base to fight. Except inheriting the gameplay of Transformers Legends, the new mobile game will be infused into the elements of EDU and SIM games. Besides, you can experience not only the traditional PVE and PVP modes, but also two new feature modes – 'Scramble for Skill' and 'World Boss' in the game. Transformers Rising will start CBT soon. But DeNA hasn't revealed the time yet. Moreover, the game only supports Chinese currently. English version could be later. The game will be available on iOS and Android. We've mirrored the images with this news post. Check them out... after the jump. |
