A new image of the mystery figure from this year's Transformers Collectors Club Subscription Service has surfaced on Weibo. This new image shows the mystery figure - who we're avoiding referring to by name for now to preserve the surprise - in his robot mode, in a dynamic pose.
This seventh figure is going to ship alongside shipments of the sixth and final figure in this year's subscription service this October. |

TFW2005 attended the Hasbro Second Quarter 2014 Earnings Conference Call live today.
Nothing major was told but Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner mentioned that they have planned reveals at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. Hasbro brands such as Transformers, My Little Pony, Magic: The Gathering and Jem and the Holograms will have reveals during the show. A new initiative is planned where the Fans can 3D Print their My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Fan Art. For this, Hasbro has entered a partnership with SuperFanArt. No word yet regarding Transformers. Transformers: Battle Masters will get expanded to the Marvel Universe. Also, Mr. Goldner was happy with the success of Transformers: Age Of Extinction. It has helped to increase the Transformers toy sales worldwide. During the Q&A Session he said... "We feel really good about not only the box office which is growing but movie theaters are built in particularly in emerging markets internationally. I would say that our results in the quarter are very good and we feel very good about the new innovation across both the toy and games category; we put out a very different kind of product line, more expansive line, brought back in a lot of those innovation for the young kids and we see them reflected in our takeaway. And looking out over the remainder of the year, remember for all three of the prior Transformers movies, we did far more business in the 3rd and 4th quarter than in the first half of the year. We would imagine that to be true here as well. And so, as we get into the 3rd and 4th quarter into the entertainment windows and home entertainment, we would continue to believe that we’ll do more business in the 2nd half of the year than the 1st. That’s been the case for this Brand with for Boys Action. But we are pleased thus far about the result." A journalist asked whether Hasbro delayed shipping Transformers toys to Latin-American countries and other countries where the 4th Movie was delayed due to FIFA World Cup. But Mr. Goldner said yes and told us that Hasbro expects the toy sales to kick-in when the movie is released in those countries. You can find more information regarding Hasbro's 2014 Q2 results after the jump. Selected slides from the presentation are attached with this news post as well. |

Hasbro just announced a partnership with Shapeways regarding a new initiative where Official and Fan Art will be 3D Printed and sold as official Hasbro products. The announcement first came from Hasbro's 2014 2nd Quarter Financial Conference Call and Shapeways followed it with an official statement from their end. Though the initiative begins with My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, the company plans to expand into other Hasbro brands which might include Transformers.
"Once we have filled our 3D printers with community designed ponies, we will continue to work with Hasbro and the Shapeways community to enable more Hasbro branded content to be created, 3D printed and sold. This is a major step forward in realizing the creative potential of 3D printing, to make products on demand that might otherwise never make it into people’s hands. Hasbro has been incredibly forward thinking and open minded, to realize that the existing unmet demand within their fan base can be satisfied with the help of those very same fans. We expect to see many more partnerships like this, to enable user generated content to be 3D printed based on existing intellectual property, with fair attribution and compensation for all parties involved. We've seen this model work successfully in the digital realm, and we’re thrilled to be leading the charge in the physical." The designs (Fan Art) must be cleared with Hasbro to ensure they are not obscene, violent or hateful, but otherwise, the artists largely have free rein. Even the price for the figurines will be set by the artists. For more info, visit SuperFanArt. News Post Image: Figurines inspired by Hasbro’s My Little Pony line and printed at Shapeways. |

Toys R Us had (briefly) posted a pair of entries on their website product catalog for the Transformers Angry Birds series! Through these we have our first look at the toys for this line, and possibly a fresh clue as to what the game itself might involve.
The first set is the Optimus Prime Bird Raceway, a $39.99 set which comes with an Ultimate Optimus Prime bird and an Ultimate Megatron pig. Yes, they seem to be using the actual Transformers names and not the cute reimaginings we reported had been the subject of a trademark application recently. The bird raceway is a racetrack set that launches the toys down a 35ft track - where only one gets to cross the finish line. The other set is a set of five racers titled the Energon Racers Pack. This pack has Angry Bird versions of Optimus, Grimlock, Lockdown, Starscream and Soundwave, and retails for $29.99. Both sets also include a Matrix styled telepod which connects to the toys to unlock the characters for play in the game. The toys themselves transform from vehicle - driven by the respective Angry Bird or Bad Piggie - into robot forms with the bird or pig as the head. Speculation is there might be some kind of Bot Shot style transformation going on there, but nothing confirmed as yet. |

Just a friendly reminder - the auction for unreleased G2 Gobots - many of which eventually became Spychangers in 2001's Robots In Disguise line - is set to end today in a couple hours. Prior to this listing, they were not seen in this complete a state, and 2 have still never been mass-produced. If you like that super rare hard to find goodness - this is it.

Scans from the latest Japanese magazines have begun to circulate online - and in an exciting twist, this latest batch of hobby magazines contains our very first look at Masterpiece Star Saber!
This magazine scan shows Masterpiece Star Saber in both robot and spaceship mode. In robot mode, he comes armed with his Saber Blade, and it is evident from this image he's already got the original Star Saber outdone for poseability. What's more, the magazine scan shows that the smaller jet / robot Transformer who forms the core of Star Saber, Saber, is also included and looks very sharp. This makes Star Saber the first Masterpiece Transformer to feature the longstanding Transformer gimmick of "smaller transforming robot who combines with a trailer to form a super robot" and he appears to do it extremely well. The innermost robot figure in this Transformers series of Russian dolls, the core Brainmaster, is discussed in the accompanying text but is not yet confirmed, though we'd imagine it will be included since it was a key feature of the original. Check out the latest scan which comes via aloadofhupla on Twitter after the break. |

Some more new images from this month's new Figure Oh magazine have been posted on NSFW Japanese board 2Chan. In addition to the first look at Masterpiece Star Saber which we reported on this morning, this issue contains a fresh look at the non-transforming Magazarak (Scorponok) by Sentinel, a look at the exclusive items for the Japanese Transformers Expo, coverage of the BAPE Masterpiece Convoy (a green MP-10) and a new look at the Age of Extinction Optimus Prime Dual Model Kit.
In addition to all this, there are some details of a new Micron prize campaign figure. Micron Astrotrain will be available in August from Toys R Us Japan with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers products. He is a translucent purple version of the Payload figure who comes with the Legends class Generations Cosmos. |
