Anyone else notice two different Jokers? One standing behind Harley that looks horribly painted and the other standing alone which looks more detailed an better painted...

Arkham is very popular and works as a baseline, its a series with games every couple years so that works better than using a movie line as the base. Its like a general purpose Batman line but better than evergreen, especially because it allows them to plug a new wave in depending on whats right at that time. We started with Arkham, then went movies now are returning to Arkham for the Knight hype. If the line continues doing well I guarantee we will be back to "movies" by next summer. probably Arrow and Flash wave at that. Is there a date on any of these besides "Spring 2015" on Catwoman set? Just my initial thoughts, based on closer examination of the photos... I know some of you have already mentioned these things...
* Will the AK Batmobile be sold after SDCC? The title card says the vehicle is available for sale at SDCC, doesn't say "exclusive". * Detective Mode Batman: It looks like this is simply Batman's armor in AK, but with a slightly glowy paint job. * Thugs: They have re-purposed MV Bane and AK Red Hood as Thugs, or is this a misreport? (Does Bane appear in AK? What about Freeze?) Are Bane-Thug and Red Hood-Thug meant to be sold together? * Joker sold alone vs. the 4-pack: I think the 4-pack version on display is actually an earlier prototype. It looks more crude, rough than the Joker displayed standing alone, which I think is the final version we'll see also packed in the 4-pack. (I shall nickname this Joker the Sting-Joker.) * Harley: They probably mixed up Harley on display... the black-red pattern of her legs of the version standing by herself is incorrect. The Harley displayed in the 4-pack group has the correct black-red patterning. So the one standing by herself is the earlier prototype version. * Catwoman: It sucks that it looks like they will force people to buy this 4-pack in order to get her. This reminds me of the TDKR 5-pack that was exclusive to Target which was the only way you could get the Anne Hathaway Catwoman. * Killer Croc, Grundy and Clayface: They look like they will be sold paired with, respectively, Nightwing, Batman and Batman (blue & gray color). Are these figures supposed to be part of the 4" format? I can't tell if Nightwing and the Batmans are 4". They look like they could be 6" So it looks like there will be a total of 10 new 4" figure molds/designs. (Assuming that the Nightwing may not be 4".) The ones I personally want (I'm not a complete-ist; I just like to collect personal favorite characters but only if I find a particular figure design cool): Joker, Harley, AK Batman and Scarecrow. |

We need better shots of the Unlimited figures on the lowest shelf. Are they 4"? (I think they are.)
There is Manbat and Scarecrow, both of which would be new to this kid-friendly 4" line. The Batman in black with the red Batlogo -- is this Batman Beyond? |

What the actual fart is going on with that Unlimited Line's accessories and vehicles? At first I'm like "All right! Manbat and Scarecrow, and maybe McGinnis?" But then I look at what comes with them - Wolf Cycle, some sort of Rhino Robot... Shark Gun? Whaaaaaaat.

They already did 6' Arkham Nightwing and you can tell its a shrunken version of that. So excited about Origins Batman(2nd favorite Batsuit after Returns), thought for sure they would skip and jump to Knight Batman. Last edited by Specter; 07-24-2014 at 04:10 AM.. |

[QUOTE=Specter;549129]Batman 89, Batman Returns and Superman the movie.

Then they opened with arkham, went to movies, then back to arkham for two waves, vehicles and multipacks. I also dont buy the "arkham is so popular" line. Origins sold 550k the first week. Man of steel sold 14.2 million tickets in the first weekend. The season premiere of arrow attracted 4 million viewers. And again I plan to but a lot of these figures. It just seems like multiverse is stretching it a bit. And yeah looking at thr cards freeze, red hood and bane arent named. 'Thugs" must have been a guess. |

I just wanted to see something new from this line. The problem from this Arkham line is that big fans already have a collection of Arkham figs that are so much better than what Mattel is showing. Sure, it's a different scale from DCC, but as good as they look they are still no where near what's already offered and I, for one, am not looking to rebuy figures I have in a different scale.
As of right now I say, "Neat!" But I'm far from blown away. |

Does anyone else remember when Marvel Legends started slowing down, waves stopped showing up at retail (nemesis and ff waves), and DC/Mattel basically took over the 6 inch scale for a few years? Unless Hasbro drops something big in the 4 inch scale this week, I can see history starting to repeat itself.

I also dont buy the "arkham is so popular" line. Origins sold 550k the first week. Man of steel sold 14.2 million tickets in the first weekend. The season premiere of arrow attracted 4 million viewers. Arkham games sell well despite being $60 movie tickets are around $10 Arrow is basically free TV The line needs a base, you can't just do niche wave after niche wave. This past wave was a risk, not only do they have to rely on a niche of Batman fans but Superman as well just to clear a wave. So with the Knight hype building thats the logical thing to make(especially replacing the 6' line) Arkham is a core line that would likely be around anyway and has the depth to keep a line going so it works. Best direction after Knight would be Arrow, Arrow directly following Superman/Batman wave would destroy the line with being too random. At that point your target audience is only the most hardcore of DC fans. Movies can't really be a base because they are too varried and you would basically have no cohesion. You can do a current movie series as the base but then the line gets screwed over after the movie runs it course. Burton Batman is popular enough to anchor yet its basically complete with 2 more figures(Returns Batman, Joker) Arkham waves will allow them to do a wave with Batman and 2 villains from 20 years ago once in a while. It keeps them with a core audience that they can directly bring back the next wave. Some of the Arkham guys will pick up a few of the "random wave" because their is some basic cross appeal then you have him hooked for a full wave after that. Even with all these reveals Arkham could carry another two or three whole waves. Otherwise its An Arkham niche who want this small random selection of Arkham characters at 4' Batman 89 niche Superman the movie niche(though less so than Batman 89 because its nearly the definitive version, but still much older target audience) Arrow niche Etc DCUC and DCIH were comics as a base Arrow should become the base after the Arkham roster has been completed. Did anyone find news on DCC Injustice Batman and Joker pack 3.75'' scale? Couldn't find anything hope they don't cancel it.
At least stores are still having it for pre-order. |

I don't like Killer Croc or Grundy (or Bane) to be that HUGE!!!
Clayface is well clay so he can be that big. but I MUST HAVE Catwoman!!! I hope the goggles can be removed or there will be a goggle-less version The X-Ray vision figures look just weird to me. Here is hoping they will also show some movie ones. So far this line should just be called Batman Arkham Multiverse. Quote:
I'm the oddball here in that I'm not too excited for the Arkham reveals. I like what I see, but I already have a way better looking (granted more expensive, too) collection of DCCs offerings from the Arkham universe. I'll do what I've been doing, though, and pick up characters I don't have in that collection like Joker, Clayface, Grundy, and Croc.
Fingers crossed that their panel reveals more movie figs. |

If Nightwing is a shrunken version does anyone know if it has trouble with arm movement? Looks like the shoulder pads would prevent movement from side to side..

More power to anyone that collects 4" lines over the 6" and 7" stuff. This wave is all you and I need you to keep it going so that the line doesn't fizzle out before I get my Returns Batman. I'll support this wave a tiny bit.
I'm just appreciative of this specific forum. I've been over at TheFwoosh a lot and anything from this line is simply referred to as Happy Meal toys or dog doo. I don't think they're anything like that and I appreciate the positive I hear over here. Mattel, you want to sell me on this line? Vehicles! Vehicles! Vehicles! And I think we're going to see that at Mattypalooza tomorrow. |

I'm also a bit concerned with twoface not being able to hold a gun..
Happymeal toy huh.. Six inch collectors do hold their nose up at smaller scale collectors at times.. Whatever.. |

I'm really debating whether to go Multiverse for Arkham Knight or stick with DCC. I agree with the lack of room for DCC. What I want is my own warehouse and unlimited funds. Then I wouldn't have to worry. As it stands, I have a small 'office' and a decent amount each month. |

Just played around with my 6" AC Nightwing. No hindrance in the shoulders at all. Might not necessarily mean the Multiverse version won't have issues - Mattel altered the arms to remove the bicep swivel that the 6" one has. It'll be hard to know what other changes, slight or otherwise, they've made until it releases.
They definitely seem to be all about vehicles this year. Most of the new power-attack/evergreen figures seem to have transforming motorcycles, not to mention the other vehicles they just showed off for the line. They already have that SDCC Multiverse AK batmobile and even their crappy 12" Batman seems to be getting a go-kart, so it does look pretty promising. Thanks for checking.. It would almost kill the fig for me if it didn't have full range of motion coupled with the lack of a swivel in the bicep. Vehicle I can do without, rather have more accessories like multiple heads and weapons. Last edited by rustyrob; 07-24-2014 at 03:32 PM.. Reason: spelling |

Speaking of which - is that an alternate comic-style head lying at Black Mask's feet? My eyes are bad, so it's hard for me to tell. Looks like it has red eyes.

Am I alone in wanting Multiverse Talia, Lady Shiva and Ra's most after AO Batman and Catwoman?
I'd really want a Batgirl but sadly she hasn't appeared in the games yet. |

No, you're not alone. The more the merrier. I'd like an Oracle figure, but I don't see it happening.

It does suck that the Arkham games have so far skipped over Batgirl entirely, going straight into Barbara being Oracle. Maybe a sequel to Origins will finally put her in the costume, 'cause I don't think we're gonna get Batgirl in this line otherwise. After seeing the AK Play Arts Robin, I am more hopeful of finally getting one in the multiverse line. They're still willing to do Arkham City designs, so maybe they'll revisit Arkham Knight down the road and release him too. |
