A batgirl would be cool. Number one on the list is deathstroke though.

Arkham City sold 2 million first week, and you have to account for
Arkham games sell well despite being $60 movie tickets are around $10 Arrow is basically free TV The line needs a base, you can't just do niche wave after niche wave. This past wave was a risk, not only do they have to rely on a niche of Batman fans but Superman as well just to clear a wave. So with the Knight hype building thats the logical thing to make(especially replacing the 6' line) Arkham is a core line that would likely be around anyway and has the depth to keep a line going so it works. Best direction after Knight would be Arrow, Arrow directly following Superman/Batman wave would destroy the line with being too random. At that point your target audience is only the most hardcore of DC fans. Movies can't really be a base because they are too varried and you would basically have no cohesion. You can do a current movie series as the base but then the line gets screwed over after the movie runs it course. Burton Batman is popular enough to anchor yet its basically complete with 2 more figures(Returns Batman, Joker) Arkham waves will allow them to do a wave with Batman and 2 villains from 20 years ago once in a while. It keeps them with a core audience that they can directly bring back the next wave. Some of the Arkham guys will pick up a few of the "random wave" because their is some basic cross appeal then you have him hooked for a full wave after that. Even with all these reveals Arkham could carry another two or three whole waves. Otherwise its An Arkham niche who want this small random selection of Arkham characters at 4' Batman 89 niche Superman the movie niche(though less so than Batman 89 because its nearly the definitive version, but still much older target audience) Arrow niche Etc DCUC and DCIH were comics as a base Arrow should become the base after the Arkham roster has been completed. -That was my whole point. They said all of the dc multiverse is the base. Not Arkham. -Superman sold the wave? I haven't even SEEN a superman yet. 1 penguin, no maskless Batman. -I agree the next wave was going always going to be Arkham. but Its a series with a year of life left, two years from now it will juts be a used bargain bin memory. They've said its the last game. Quote:

They wont pay likness rights to Nicholson for a head that small. That's why Keaton looks like it was sculpted by a blind chipmunk I get it they want tie the marketing into the game. groovy. After that take the license for a spin. They only made one mistake so far and I understand it. There is no way that Zod was intended to come before Reeves. Some exec said they wanted a hero in the chase figures and zod got moved to the front of the line and Superman is a chase figure. Otherwise everything is just fine. |

Hell yeah the Multiverse line is definitely starting to kick some ass. These couldn't come at a better time. I just got a new job and should hopefully have a little extra spending money now.

I too would love to see an Oracle figure made, and with the line expanding like this, it would be the perfect time to make such a figure. That said, I see DCC doing one before Mattel does. Which, even though I've decided to stick to Mattel's Arkham figures, I would still get a DCC Arkham Knight Oracle. She'd end-up in a display of comic book figures, but she'd be worth it.

We can expect toys to be released in unison with the games for as long they make money for everyone involved. Don't underestimate their popularity - there's gonna be a whole generation out there who sees the Arkham series as THEIR Batman, having either never seen, or just don't appreciate, the Burton/Shumacher movies, BTAS, or anything else during/before that period. It'll be a toss-up between Arkham and the Nolan movies, and as good as those first two movies were, they don't let you BE Batman. |

Do you know if that is the proposed Suicide Squad game? Cause that's the only one I was aware of. I kinda hope Rocksteady makes some more Arkham styled games, but focusing on someone other than Batman. Like a full game set around Nightwing, or a Green Arrow game.

That's where you're wrong. Arkham Knight is Rocksteady's final Batman game, they're ready to move on. WB Games, on the other hand, is going to milk the cow until it keels over. It's all but guaranteed that Arkham Origins 2 (or whatever else it'll be titled) is being developed by WB Montreal, ready to be announced 6 months after AK launches.

It'll be a toss-up between Arkham and the Nolan movies, and as good as those first two movies were, they don't let you BE Batman. Saying an entire generation will define Batman by one or more of the Arkham games....seems like a stretch. In the same time frame you have batman the brave and he bold, young justice, Justice Leauge, Injustice, Batman Beyond, Infinite crisis Wouldn't it be more fair to say that an entire generation will come to know batman by the best selling of the batman video games, Lego Batman and the Lego Movie? Again I agree with everyone that of course Mattel is going to cash in on the games success. I play the games. I'm just saying why call it multiverse and then do four out of five waves of Arkham? I anticipated the suggested Arrow wave, split with Gotham and the Flash. Failing to promote the tv shows doesn't make sense to me and makes me feel like its an arkham line with the occasional bonus thrown in. As a causal Arkham fan why should I bother to follow the line? I like arkham because it lets me be batman, I don't like to be Batman because he's in Arkham. |

There has to be a reason that after credits scene was shown in AO, plus Akrham Origins: Blackgate was basically all about Waller recruiting the remainder of her team. There's also the chance that it was cancelled and the planned story was used for the animated movie. |

I'm all for Arkham Origins 2. I may be in the minority but I really liked the first game (the Mr. Freeze DLC was really good too). I'd love the sequel to involve the Suicide Squad somehow.
Is Blackgate any good? I've thought about getting now that it's on PSN but mainly because I want to see how the story goes (come on it's the first meeting with Catwoman) but if it's total garbage I'm sure I can find a walkthrough on Youtube or something. Man I'm still pumped about those figure reveals. It's been a long time since action figures have gotten me this hyped. I feel like a kid again. |

You have to give Mattel some time, We had 1 wave of Arkham with a wide selection of characters, after the next Arkham wave most of the major characters are covered. Batman 89 and Superman were the most capable of a full wave and are nearly complete. Mattel will go after Arrow/Flash but they will slip in less current stuff when they get the chance. You aren't going to see a full Wonder Woman or Batman Forever, etc wave but you might see Lynda Carter Wonder Woman or Kilmer Batman slipped into an appropriate wave. They could do a Batman 89, Smallville and then Nolan wave but the audiences for those figures are so different you don't have a core customer. Going forward they could do something like: Arkham W2 Tv W1[Arrow/Flash] (possibly slip Smallville Clark in, or Smallville Green Arrow as a chase) Movie W2[89 Joker, 78 Lex ] (possibly slipping in LC Wonder Woman*) Arkham W3 Tv W2[Arrow/Flash] (slipping in Batgirl from Birds of Pray, or Flash 90's as an alt Flash) Future Cartoon W1 (allowing Mattel to do a cartoon's main cast without worrying over a new line) *Fits better in the classic retro nature more so than general tv. I mentioned earlier that Ra's and Talia weren't very high on my list of wanted characters. I've been thinking since then and actually - after these recent reveals - they ARE at the top of my list now! Just about all of my most requested characters were just shown off.

Blackgate is okay if you like games done in the old Metroid/Castlevania style - where you explore and backtrack through a 2D location, finding gadgets which let you proceed to previously locked areas. I typically don't like those kinds of games - but I held in there with this one and the constant backtracking only got to me at the very end. The combat is terrible, but I liked the puzzle solving. The boss fights were pretty good too. The story, while basic, was okay. It will seem entirely pointless if the Suicide Squad stuff doesn't have a big payoff in the future though. What's kind of funny is that the Multiverse AC Catwoman could actually be seen as an AO version too - she wore the exact same costume for her first appearance. It makes the Date Night multipack make a little more sense. |

For me, I don't Love the Arkham games.. That's not what has me exited for these figs. The game gave us some very definitive designs of characters we've been wanting justice for for a long time. Killer croc, cat woman, joker, Harley ext ext..

Arkham Origins is actually my favorite game in the series. It gave us a great new Batsuit design, an awesome Knightfall-like storyline with (FINALLY!) a very well done version of Bane, NAILED Joker and Harley's first meeting, and (although Black Mask got shafted) it had a memorable intro for Joker. It makes the Date Night multipack make a little more sense. It's nice to know I'm not alone in thinking Origins was great. It kind of shocked me when everybody said it was just mediocre. I loved Bane and Joker in the game. Easily the best they've been in a long time. I thought the story was the best of the three games (that are out) and on-par with some of the best stories form the comics. And the suit is hands-down my favorite. It's seems like a nice blend between the comics and the armored look of the movies and actually looks like it could protect a rich crazy guy going out to beat some justice into street-thugs and psychotic super-criminals. After Origins it's Returns and Begins. I thought if the suit in Begins had been grey instead of all black it would have been so perfect. Really surprised that there's no Deathstroke. You'd think how awesome he was in Origins and Arrow they would've been all over making a figure of him. Last edited by snake5289; 07-24-2014 at 10:12 PM.. |

Origins had the Batplane. You see an unfinished Batmobile in the Batcave though. The Asylum Batmobile was way better though.
And I'd buy Talia, Ra's, and Shiva on sight. Actually I take that back. I'm buying all Arkham related characters on sight so making those 3 wouldn't be any different. They'd certainly get bought. |

seeing all this new stuff makes it easy for me to continue doing buying them all. It makes the characters I thought about passing on work better, now that AO Batman, Catwoman and Nightwing are coming I don't mind regular Arkham Batman, Bane and Deadshot. |

I didn't think we'd get anywhere near the amount of characters we're getting so now I'm definitely getting Deadshot. I've actually walked around Wal-Mart with him in my hand but was never sure if he'd be worth it but now I'm getting him next time I go out. I fear I'll be resorting to getting Azrael online because I've never seen him in person. Those are the only two from Wave 1 I'm missing. I've yet to see Wave 2 at retail but I only want Batman and Superman for display from that.
