Are you calling this a coincidence of price, have I been ripped off, is that Superboy figure excessively rare and you got a really good deal? I'm afraid I don't know much about this statement or DC figure collecting in general, maybe I'll learn something here.

Unless Mattel either has a change of heart concerning 6inch figures at retail, or just out and out says they're done with it and let NECA or DCC pick up the rights, I doubt there's gonna be one.

Before a lot of people start freaking out Doomsday was not listed on the SDCC release list but it's probably a Mistake. You know how great Mattel's Marketing and P/R is (Batzarro being listed as scheduled for 2014)

It could go either way. Scott claims Doomsday will be on sale, at least for the early access people. We'll see. I just hope the dude I bought it from is legit.

Having said that, I do believe Mattel's doing a great job so far with their Multiverse offerings. Their 6" series? Unless you're into Total Heroes (nothing wrong with that), not so much. Quote:

I'm guessing these guys won't sell that well, and we'll see them show up at Big Lots or Ollie's across the country. Maybe then I'll buy one. And I get that SP enthusiasts would want the S on the cape, but 1) it always seemed stupid to me. I don't see Batman with his logo on his cape! and 2) if I get him, I'm not gonna have him with his back out in my display, so I'm alright with it. Plus, for the people who keep these MIB, you're never gonna see his back anyways!

I don't read DC anymore (only used to read Batman) except for Vertigo comics. And even then all I read is Fables, has DCC ever suggested that they could make some stuff for Fables? They made Watchmen stuff (I think that was DCC, right?) and with the recent The Wolf Among Us game there could be a small market for it. Does anyone else here care about Fables, or would DCC?

BTW, isn't Fables ending?

Quick question for whomever has an answer: is Mattycollector.com selling the Conner Kent figure yet?
I have a "test" (not really sure what it is) copy that I bought from eBay, but the waist is super-glued (I think) and will not budge. I planned to sell it for fodder (along with a bunch other flawed or broken figs both DCUC and Legends), but I want to secure a mint fig first..... Anyone know anything? |

Yes, they're ending Fables, not a "you're cancelled" call, but Bill Willingham is ending it story-wise and on his own terms. I've loved Fables and count it as among my favorite comics ever, so I'm glad it will have an ending and not carry on indefinitely to the point of meandering in story. Kind of like The Maxx, I regard it as one of my favorites partly because it was short and well done (and I don't count IDW's new take on The Maxx, it ended when it ended with Image to me).

I was wondering if someone could take a picture of the first series TH Batman figure next to one or more of the figures I already have? Sort of give me an idea of how the base figure's sculpt will mesh with the other figures I have, or another release of their sculpt. I've got Mattel's new 52 Batgirl, Movie Masters Bane and John Blake, and the Batman Legacy figures of first appearance Catwoman and Super Powers Mr. Freeze.

The plastic production molds are usually thrown out after a few production runs simply because they get worn out. Now if you're suggesting Mattel simply throws out the steel molds that are used to make the production molds, I highly doubt that.
The only times I've heard of a company intentionally destroying the steel molds are when they are too old to be of any use (i.e. worn out), or when they are used for an exclusive that will never be produced again. Also Doomsday has been listed on sale next Monday (when it will sell out) or Tuesday (if not)

IIRC, Watchmen figures were not part of any subscription line. Even if it was, going by Mattel's statement regarding the MOTU & GB figures then it stands to reason that Mattel did not make enough Watchmen figures to warrant similar actions.

(While not very cost-effective, it is entirely possible for a toy company to make new steel molds for previously-released figures.)
